  1. Don’t laugh. My late mother was a fashion designer by trade and she had to learn the history of apparel. One reason was to explain why certain features on an article of clothing exist and, by understanding that history, it helped her when she had to sew something similar.

  2. Kate, have you thought that you might be “sort-of” under-employed? You have so many diverse interests/knowledge. Perhaps some high IQ people like yourself just prefer to enjoy a life of their choice.

      Scott Adams himself was once questioned about why such a genius character chooses to works as a garbageman, and stated that the joke is that we cannot really question the garbageman’s career choice, since HE is smarter than we.
