Saw a lady in London Drugs today, forties maybe early fiftys, with a mask on PLUS a visor and wearing blue disposable gloves. She was inquiring about a car charger but she wouldn’t let the sales clerk get close to her to help her decide. Which one? The show had a number of hosts over the years. David Suzuki, the first one, was, well, Suzuki. He was succeeded by Jay Ingram who was, in my opinion, the best one. David Mowbray took over after Ingram went to Discovery Channel but he wasn’t around for very long.
I don’t think Bob McDonald has a scientific background and, yes, he tended to be a shill and an irritating one at that.

God, I miss Jay Ingram. When they replaced Gill Deacon with Natasha Stilwell, it was clear he was just phoning it in. I remember when Deacon subbed for Stilwell for a week a few years later, it was like Ingram lost twenty years. Their easy chemistry and unscripted banter was such a stark contrast to Stilwell and it made the show light years better. I always wondered what was going on behind the scenes that they made such an awful casting decision.

We just went through a COVID exposure here, adult son was exposed last Thursday. He found out Tuesday that 3 friends were positive that he worked out with, was tested this past Thursday, 7 days after, well enough time for the virus to be present, but not show symptoms. We were resigned to getting it, upping our D to 10k IU per day plus 200mg Zinc in anticipation, and just get thru it. No morbid health issues to fear.
Son tested negative, so yes, relief, no one wants to get sick. He can’t believe it, good genes and a healthy kid with a balanced diet.
Still, not getting the gene therapy experimental dose, the gullible guinea pigs can continue with their irrational fear, and wear their masks AFTER their injections. The stupid is strong.
Government has lied by obfuscation and omission. The only ones at terrible risk are the elderly, the obese, the chronically ill, and diabetics. The rest of us are at risk for a bad cold only, and, even then, maybe not, if we keep our Vitamin D intake up.

Since I never get flu, I’ve never taken a flu shot and today a nurse told me I should have been taking the flu shot every year because it ‘helps’ and a doctor advised me to take the Covid shot, any shot and don’t worry about the timing for the second shot, just get it done. The power of blind faith and adherence to the cause is something to behold.
Add (d) the second shot being given in 16 weeks instead of the tested 2 to 3 weeks, not for scientific reasons but for political reasons.

My take on this is that a lot of people are afraid that the first or maybe even the second shot won’t stop the variants that are popping up all over the world. I’m also shocked that Doofus in Ottawa, while speaking at his Liberal convention today, claims that 9 million people (Canadians) have been vaccinated. In my books, vaccinated means having received the final shot. And so far, only 2.1% of the population have had both injections.

Well unfortunately my wife watches the CBC so I can observe first hand the effect of this unrelenting propaganda. It is criminal what the governments have done, and still are doing.

Same for me. My wife bathes in the CBC Covid porn. It’s always about how many “new cases” there are. My reply is don’t talk to me about cases, the relevant numbers are hospitalizations and deaths. I tell her about shear volume of overly sensitive PCR testing with huge numbers of false positives but she slides back into paranoia under the relentless media hype. So now she is getting the (experimental) vaccine shortly while I am going to wait until the double vaccinated have had sufficient time to see how they respond to exposure to the actual virus in all its forms. In other words, I will wait for the vaccines to go through a full test protocol period, not this “emergency use” rush to market.
I guess I’m lucky as I convinced my husband not to get the jab (he’s in his 60’s and his bike buddies are all in total disbelief that he’s refusing the jab). Don’t people do their own research for god’s sake? The number of adverse reactions to these Covid vaccines is astonishing and now I’m just going to tell people I have really bad allergies, especially to PEG which is in the Pfizer vaccine so that’s why I can’t get the jab.

I visited my doctor for a quick check the other day (continuance of a maintenance medication) and he asked whether I wanted the Covid shot. I told him “I’m part of the control group.” He laughed.
We are in year two of a 7-10 year R&D process for new drugs, the vast majority of which fail to be commercialized due to inefficacy or harm. Ordinarily in this phase (Clinical Phase 2), we would be expanding the test cohort to maybe 10,000 humans, half of whom would be given the drug and the other half would be given a placebo. (Of course, instead of 10k test subjects we are using the entire Earth’s population, but never mind that.) Those given the placebo would be called “the control group”. Without a control group, how could scientists determine the effectiveness of the drug?
