The NCAA hosting tournaments in your state is a bfd…she likely got some bad advice from the Chamber of Commerce and got cute with her explanation thinking people would buy it. A “trial lawyer’s dream” was utter nonsense. The NCAA, who btw, are all in with this boys on girls teams b.s. would simply simply strike her State’s name off their list and move on to those who will accommodate their idiocy. Case closed.

I am a Green Bay Packer stockholder and sometimes you have to book 30 to 50 miles away for a home game and that is for the most famous NFL team. I mean South Dakota will have what? Cow pie throwing contests?

She whored herself out to the NCAA … the single most corrupt sporting Agency in the history of sport. Yep. Worse than a FIFA that gave the WC to some Islamic hellhole. Fact is, the NCAA with the support of the NFL are 1,000x worse than the most vile Plantation slaver of the 18th century. They are slavers. They exploit the poorest of young black kids whose only “shot” is sport by profiting $Billions … in exchange for Room&Board … and a useless degree (if they’re lucky) in “Mass Communication”.
Noem would have shown some integrity if she told the NCAA to suck her left trans-planted nut and pound sand. And then called them out for their shameless blaxploitation of athletes from underserved communities. By serving themselves to heaping helpings of their marketable talents for (virtually) FREE.
She blew it big time. Tucker simply told the truth, and pointed out the hypocrisy. BTW … she made a fool of herself with the Tucker interview.

Here’s a better idea, Tom: you explain why we shouldn’t, as Kenji said, believe she sold out women’s sports to the NCAA. Yeah, biological women will no longer be competitive in any sport that allows biological males to compete in them. Only an elite could not have see the disgrace in that sell out.

Dr. Tom; Agreed- Noem didn’t veto the bill, she sent it back for revision. Wants it to be similar to a Tennesee law. Listen to her interview with Dan Bongino on his podcast (Ep 1486) for some clarification. She understands that her state is small (population just a little bigger than New Brunswick) and understands that her state (and circuit) is filled with Clinton/Obama judges. She’s looking for help from other states with far more clout to deal with the NCAA. We should be careful not to so quickly cancel our own.

Small C Conservative- Kristi Noem did not want to have the precedent set by any of these judges. Her desire to protect K-12 girls in sports is without question. She wants to get on the same page as other states, better equipped for any fight with the NCAA. Let this play out and then judge her.
Tom, baby. Half the people who comment here have advanced degrees. We all know very well what’s going on here. Humans, born as male, cosplaying as female, and playing on women’s sports teams. We’re not down with it.
Men’s sport has a separate track from women’s sport for many reasons, one of which is fairness. It is not -sporting- for men to compete against women except in things like video games or chess, where physicality makes no difference. It’s also not safe, and there are the “locker room” issues etc. to be considered. Gender, to the Conservative voter, is not a social construction. It is a physical reality which comes along with a hefty social component.
Like gravity. One ignores gravity at one’s peril.
So when a politician who is supposed to be “conservative” comes out and says some bafflegab which sums to “the boys can play on the girl’s team,” we collectively understand that she is not in any way conservative. She’s just pretending to be, for the votes. We’re not down with it.

My goodness, lots of half-reformed Progressive Democrats here I guess. Did anybody actually read the bill and review the changes Noem wanted, or is today Ficklesday? You know what I think her big mistake was? Taking a position that was so easily criticized as a Cardinal Sin by the psuedo-Republican party, that’s what. She mistakenly delivered a Fat Pitch over the plate. Looks like the 2022 and 2024 jostling is underway. And as always, psuedo-Republicans will burn up their capital on inter-party squabbles.
