  1. If only I had such understanding and supportive psychiatrists back when I was 4 or 5, I could’ve become a healthy and well-adjusted tyrannosaurus rex. It’s a better world we live in now.

  2. We’ve paid good money to the tenure-protected professoriate for decades so that they could seed such dystopian nihilism and inverted morality upon society and now these fruits are enshrined in what passes for law in the deranged dominion.

    1. I’m pretty sure that a cursory examination of history will find that the Squirrel Farmers follow the lead of the Pols, not the other way around.
He who pays the piper calls the tune, eh?

      1. Not in the case of public education. They are insolated from public opinion as well as being ignored by an apathetic public. The leftward drift has gone on for the last century unabated. Conservatives complain and then support public education along with all their other compromises in order to achieve their token and fleeting political power.

          1. Thank you, John Chittick.
Education is not even a Federal responsibility. Read the 1867 Confederation Act.
Psychology/Psychiatry are not sciences, although they pretend to be. Purposely ignoring public opinion should not be conflated with being isolated from it.

The Squirrel Farmers ignore public opinion because they want to shape and direct it.
To attempt to do so is a Progressive proclivity. Progressives never tire of it.
The immutable fact is that public opinion comes from culture, which is a grassroots characteristic of society.
Attempts to shape and direct culture will only ever get limited success.

  3. Conversion therapy should be illegal. There is no doubt to the harm caused by this “therapy”.

    1. Thank you for you input NPC. Since it has escaped your attention, the topic is gender dysphoria not sexual orientation. I know those are long words with multiple syllables, still, do try to keep up.

      1. Conversion Therapy (which IMO is essentially what they are doing when they brainwash kids into believing they’re the wrong sex) is only acceptable when the left does it.
        Sort of like racism.

        1. Conversion therapy is about some crank (typically religious) telling homos they are not homo. It is idiotic, not really harmful if entered voluntarily but certainly a bad idea to force your children into it. Left decided to highjack the term and bring legitimate treatments of gender dysphoria (which is a mental illness) under the same umbrella to slander those who don’t believe that children should be mutilated and sacrificed on the altar of progressivism. Majority of children who suffer gender dysphoria, if not mutilated, recover by the time they reach adulthood. Typically they simply turn out homo.

    2. I think sweat lodges should be illegal.

One can never convince me of the scientific value of a Stone Age sauna, no matter how many “knowledge-gatherers” there are.

      Have at it.

  4. While I question the need for this whole subject to be dealt with in the Criminal Code, it seems to me that the exception in the definition section 320.‍101 would protect Jordan Peterson’s hypothetical child psychiatrist .

“For greater certainty, this definition does not include a practice, treatment or service that relates
    (a) to a person’s gender transition; or
    (b) to a person’s exploration of their identity or to its development.”

  5. The really sad part? If you point this out to the average Kanuckistanian, he/she/it would respond, “Hmmm, but look at all the free stuff we get!”

  6. When anyone aids and abets a minor in receiving hormone therapy or surgery, this is child abuse. Messing with people’s hormones and body parts is not medical treatment. It is enabling insanity. It’s like telling someone with anorexia: “It’s true, you are too heavy and we have surgery for that – we can staple your stomach.”

  7. Many adolescents and teens have temporary gender dysphoria. Growing up is not easy! Young people go through tremendous stresses and strains as they adjust to changing bodies and emerging desires. When you add to this the potential pain of social rejection and the complexity of relations between the sexes, you have a volatile situation in which confusing feelings can arise. In the matrix of youthful anxieties, the idea may emerge that one’s problem is a discrepancy between feelings and biology. Embracing a new sexual identity becomes the exodus path out of misery! However, it is in reality a false diagnosis and a dangerous solution. Far better to counsel young people to come to terms with their biological identity. Our bodies are not an accident and they are not a medium we can force into compliance with our mental constructs. Instead of changing the body, strive to change the mind! That would be kind and merciful to the youth.
