Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

A wise man once plainly told me that there’s nothing wrong with the Bible, it’s what man does with it.
Whatever you believe in, one thing is certain IMO and an increasing number of top world scientists agree BTW (Watch the doc A Privileged Planet for example):
Earth and the universe are not by accident, they’re by design.
I believe in a creator.
The arguments that go along the lines of a tornado in a scrapyard are bunk, told by people with no real understanding of thermodynamics, but it is true that the cutting edge of modern physics does suggest mechanisms by which intelligences (aka dissipative structures) can exist both outside of and permeating the bubble of spacetime in which we live.
“I believe in a creator.”
But you then run into the question of what created the creator. An infinite regression of creators? “Turtles all the way down” comes to mind when I hear that there must be an intelligent designer. Maybe there are questions for which there is no answer.
“Maybe there are questions for which there are no answers.” Yup. That “who made God” question has the same validity that questions like this do:
How big is the universe? What is beyond the edge of it? How far does that space go? Where did the material or energy come for the Big Bang, and what triggered it? What, exactly, are magnetism and gravity? How small, and how far down do we go, to find the most basic particles of an electron? Why do all those particles seem to be nothing but tiny packets of energy? How did a single strand of human DNA come to contain 1.5 gigabytes of accurate information? And this in nearly every cell in a body that contains an estimated 38 trillion cells!
The human mind has serious limitations, particularly concerning matters outside of time.
Our search is for the Unified Theory … Right? To find that one essential Bio-physical-chemical message that puts Order to all the material in the Universe. When boiled down to that search … my limited mind embraces the theory of a Creator. The order (and pockets of disorder) of the Universe is simply too perfect to have come about by chance. That’s the way I see it.
I suppose, mathematically … the Universe must contain MORE intelligent beings such as man. We want to envision such beings as … better than us. More advanced that us. Hell … some believe they’re HERE … right now … hiding among us!! Or flitting around in their silver seed looking spacecraft. But I’m not so sure that mankind isn’t the single product of ONE Creator having made us in His image. Our lives and this world are simply magnificent. Our unique personalities and personhood are incomprehensible as a random occurrence.
For me … this is the EVIDENCE of a Unified Theory … that God is the Unified Theory. And, yeah, perhaps He has a fundamental mathematical and physics formula … but I don’t think so. I believe that within the Laws of Physics … there is FREEDOM and LIBERTY … initiated by God … for the physical world to behave as unique human beings behave … FREE and ALIVE… ever changing and evolving. All of the physical world was created to do so.
“made us in HIS image”?
Does the supreme being have gonads? The first monotheistic god, the Egyptian god Re, was a HE and the Abrahamic religions have stuck with a lone male deity ever since. Do we know God’s approved pronoun?
That was a logical explanation for the reality of the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. It dide happen.
I have always wondered how anyone could accept that “no one made something out of nothing.”
Genesis I is indeed a Big Potato.
