      There’s a disaster in NY, not SD maxing out at 600 hospitalizations of 850,000 population, with a third of capacity remaining.
      Who forgot to tell Cuomo hospitals generally operate near or at capacity? Seems more like a case for lockdowns don’t “work.”
      How would we have responded to a truthful “we just need two weeks to a year to flatten the curve, to get back to normal?”

      1. We have many “Temporary Foreign Workers” working in the various Alberta meat packing plants.
        TFW’s prioritise purchasing expensive automobiles over nice living quarters. Thus, to them, saving money to buy said auto by bunking up is preferred. I don’t begrudge them for that approach but I don’t condone it either.
        Unfortunately, these living arrangements result in one ill person infecting the rest of the household very quickly. And, most living there work at the same meat packing plant. Being prudent, they tend to travel to work together.
        Despite this, UFCW likes to blame the meat packer for the TFWs’ COVID outbreak and the corrupt MSM just runs with the narrative rather than find out the truth.

    By putting sick seniors into nursing homes, New York Democrat Governor Cuomo killed over 10,000 NY Seniors that wouldn’t have died if he had managed senior citizen safety better. He purposefully shoved sick sniors into nursing homes, AND he prevented the nursing homes from even testing the new arrivals to determine if they had the Wuhan COVID. Cuomo got an Emmy for recklessly killing four times as many New Yorkers as Osama Bin Laden.

South Dakota took the morally justified course of action, which is that if you are part of a group that may be at risk for severe illness as a result of Covid, then the onus is on you to take steps to isolate yourself from others who may transmit the disease to you. There is, however, no guarantee that this will always be successful. If you are still working, you may have to work in an environment which was not designed for social distancing. It is not acceptable, however, to declare that certain businesses must close and others must have restricted hours and court bankruptcy in order to allegedly protect your health. You would need to make a causal connection between the operation of a particular business and an adverse affect on your health in order to get that charge to stick.

    1. They managed to kill the most vulnerable in the seniors homes despite their best efforts.
      Early last year they had special store hours for the elderly. That, along with social distancing, would have worked fine for the at risk but the early hours went out the window once they started with the lock-downs.

      “..If you are still working, you may have to work in an environment which was not designed for social distancing.” NOT.
      If you are at risk, you get to sit at home like government workers and get covid pay. FIFY.
