They Took Away The Rights, Put Em In A Rights Museum

Indeed.

If one were to drive into Winnipeg and to enter the Parkview Place Personal Care Home and make your way to the top of the building and look a mile to the southeast, you will see the sun shining off of the Canadian Museum of Human Rights (CMHR). If you could see over and past other buildings to look straight south to a point about eight miles away, you would see the majestic shape of the stadium where the Blue Bombers play. These two projects combined have accounted for more than $700 million in capital spending from a combination of tax dollars and donations.

  1. So true how our politicians will spend huge amounts on museums and stadiums while neglecting problems with elder care known for decades now.
Is it a wonder our “privately” run care homes in such bad shape?

    And what’s happening with those?
Lockdown and useless as politicians blow through massive amounts of funding.

    1. Yeah Jojo, and our Vets were asking for more than we could afford to give (Trudeau) and blowing three to five billion on a useless legally owned gun confiscation/buyback is also more important.

  2. Long term care homes are awful and I hated having to put my mother in one, but there was no way for any of us to provide the kind of care she needed.

Why are big corporations getting into the LTC business though? Money, big money for warehousing old folks, Communist Party of China appears to recognize their value, they’re buying Canadian LTC’s.

A systemic re-design is needed, instead of a warehouse in a commercial area, a single home housing a few old folks from the neighbourhood could be used. How such an end could be achieved would be a matter of government policy and interest groups, but most seniors interest groups are only interested in their money.

  3. And the next politician who wants to build a stadium with tax dollars should get a punch in the face.

  4. Irony?

  5. If it was a museum of just Canadian rights, it wouldn’t have cost much either, they could have built something the size of an outhouse. The difficulty would be creating a building that would expand and contract with the quantity of rights allowed, cuz they couldn’t make it shrink that small. How about installing a 100 foot bronze statue of Trudeau II, with a plaque mentioning that he was the cause of the final loss of Canadian rights. If we don’t mention the plaque, I bet he would find the ten mil needed to cast the statue. I’m sure our vets could then use the museum to make an annual pilgrimage too, as well.
