Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Three weeks ago, it seemed like it wouldn’t stop snowing in my part of the country. In recent days, the weather’s been quite mild and much of that snow has melted.
Must be due to “climate change”, right?
I have noted severe climate swings twice a year. It’s nice and hot and sunny then all of sudden we get six months of cold and snow …. global cooling I call it … then a few months later global warming sets in again.
We have to keep adjusting and revamping our wardrobes. God …when will it end.
Perhaps it’s time to give this phenomenon a name. How about seasonal changes AKA weather.
Has anyone told Leonardo di Crapola about that?
Too deep to ski?
Ya but that’s man made snow isn’t it. The left promised us no more snow and just look at the mess.
How are we going to sell global warming if people keep making so much snow.
How are we going to sell global warming if people keep making so much snow.
Another reason why we need to pay an increased carbon tax. That’ll show Gaia who’s boss, right?
It’s white too. Must be bad and racist.
EXTREME Weather! Polar VORTEX! Aiiiiieeeeeeeee!!!!! We’re killing the planet!
Right?
Gawwwwd …
all caused by Donny 2 scoops!
And Harper.
Meanwhile … here in N.CA where we had some unseasonably early snow and rain that allowed some ski resorts to open for (a COVID) Thanksgiving … but … we haven’t had any rain for two weeks. And O.M.G. … every weather girl is going apoplectic! Ohhhhhh maa’mmaaaaa they cry! It’s never gonna rain again … CA’s “permanent drought” has returned. It’s actually quite nauseating.
This is NORMAL. I repeat, NORMAL. It’s not unusual for N.CA to catch up with “normal” rain totals in ONE storm. The weathergirls know this (or should).
Saynatsalo do you really think weather girls are hired for their smarts.
Wow what a pile of snow! Any speculation as to whether they can save the houses. I’d bet no way.
Yes Nancy … I did see your thoughtful birthday greeting and gift of Disco Shoes! How did you know I slipped across the magical age threshold of full AARP eligibility? Yes, those shoes will be handy in walking/dancing my way out of this Fascist State.
Wait! Is … Migrating OUT of this God-forsaken, super-majority, leftist internment camp … essential? Yes. According to my personal health experts.
How did I know? Haha!
Hernán Cortés de Monroy y Pizarro Altamirano, 1st Marquess of the Valley of Oaxaca the Spanish Conquistador who led an expedition that caused the fall of the Aztec Empire and brought large portions of what is now mainland Mexico under the rule of the King of Castile in the early 16th century, ‘told’ me.
All the best Kenji. Hope you get to see your grandbaby soon. He must be a cute little bundle and a real joy for the whole Kenjicalifornian clan!
Yet the Maldives remain above water.
That must be due to man-made global warming causing a drought there.
“Yet the Maldives remain above water” cuz they float! 🙂
150,000 years ago, sea level was 20 to 30 feet higher than today. I don’t think that it had anything to do with SUVs though. Denmark was an island, Scandinavia too, Holland was underwater probably, it was warmer than now for 2,000 years.
It seems like that is when polar bears evolved.
The differences among the bears’ sequences pointed to a split between polar bears and brown bears just 150,000 years ago. All this means that the fossil (which may be as many as 130,000 years old) likely represents one of the very earliest members of the polar bear lineage.
It’s hard to imagine that recreating the conditions in which polar bears evolved will lead to their extinction. Just sayin’. Probably the polar bears would say to themselves “Glad that’s over!”
Could it be that the Ice Man doth come. There have been a few scientists that have been fighting the current by warning us that we could be looking at a new solar minimum, read mini-ice age. It will be interesting to see what the rest of this winter brings, a harbinger of the next ten or twenty years perhaps.
If you take Hansen’s hockey stick as gospel truth, we were headed straight into the next ice age until CO2 emissions averted the disaster.
Plants have been eating and sequestering carbon dioxide since they evolved when it was ten times higher than today. Think of it as the yeast in your batch of mead eating all of the sugar content in the honey. If plants had been left undisturbed in their greedy consumption of this fertilizer in the air, they would have taken the levels down to where they could no longer survive and leave the planet a lifeless snowball. Just like the yeast will eat all of the sugar in a batch until it dies. Thanks God we reversed the process.
Downtown Montreal, circa 1974. I’ve got the photos to prove it. We walked over the cars, abandoned on the streets. Sidewalks were not to be found. At the time we were supposed to be entering a new “mini” ice age. Dig up an old news paper and read up on it. “Weather” is cyclical, in case you didn’t know. Ask a Floridian about that. Get woke, go here: https://www.iceagenow.info/
I was in that storm. I was in third grade. Went to the city on the bus with my mom and brothers and sister to shop.
Almost didn’t get back home to howick p.q.
Dad had to ferry us to the house on the Ski-Doo from the bus stop lol.
Not surprised. You would have disappeared from sight in fresh snow, at 3 years old. I remember some wee folks got whacked in NDG or thereabouts, building snow igloos in the snow piled in the street. A common winter pastime. Then along came a snow blower to clear the street. Oops.
By the way, you wouldn’t be related to the POM Bakery Harrison clan, would you? I knew the ones living in Westmount at the time. Despite it’s size, Montreal was a small town, still is. Everybody knew everybody, even the Mulroney clan. I used to play tennis with Frau M’s younger brother.
No. We only lived in the area for five years. I’m a Gaspe Peninsula boy by birth.
The Blizzard of ’78 was no slouch. If that happened today it would be put down to “climate change”
I remember the snowstorms…all of them. Walking was fun if you were dressed for it. Cars weren’t moving and people moved around on skidoo or X-Country skis.
In those conditions one day, on a wind swept street in the downtown area of Montreal, the wind was so strong that a STOP sign got loose and almost hit my head. It flew right by …inches away!! Whew! Almost got whacked! Thankyou, jeebus!
Lucky for the Germans they’re getting rid of their nuclear power plants just in the nick of time./
Do the Krauts have any long term contracts to buy wood pellets from us, you know, to keep warm?
It won’t be long before we’re arrested for trying to keep warm.
Not to worry, Trudeau will just re write the weather records again.
Meanwhile in the fake parliament today, the NDP wants the Canada Pension Plan amended so that it can’t invest in companies that are not involved in global warming scams.
Might suggest that CPPIB quit investing in Chinah, from their Hong Kong offices, with Canadian’s “pension plan” money, while you’re at it.
