    2. The author should change his or her name to Fuller B. Loney. The proposal that first generation immigrants shouldn’t be allowed to vote is preposterous. That would mean that my parents and I would have been forbidden from casting ballots.

      When my parents prepared to take citizenship in this country, they were required to read through a number of books outlining our political system as well as our history. It was by my reading them on my own that I learned about the Quebec Act and the Statute of Westminster, neither of which were taught in the schools I went to.

      That prohibition implies that we wouldn’t have made good citizens an that our loyalty would be questionable. But, back then, there was a minimum residency period of 5 (or was it 10?) years before one could apply for citizenship.

      Nowadays, citizenship certificates is practically given away with boxes of breakfast cereal. Therein lies the problem. Make it too easy to acquire and it will be treated accordingly.

      1. Today’s immigrants are “different”. I use the term welfare immigrants and that for the most part is correct. Voting to expand the trough has never been a good idea yet it is done with every election.

        2. My 2nd and 3rd great grandparents got an ax from the Brits as military immigrants and a few provisions in 1817, a year later than the “summer with no sun”. Others came in the 1820-30’s. They were granted free land in Upper Canada, but only if they could “develop” it within 3 years. They all did and got “Crown Grants” and by 1851 had thriving mixed Eastern Ontario farms and community self-constructed housing (some still standing), working as lumbermen in Quebec in the winter, according to the 1852 first detailed census.

          Many of their well-educated grandchildren went south (USA) or west, obtained CPR land grants in Alberta and Saskatchewan, before 1885, suitable for ranching and mixed farming, or opened businesses in Alberta before it became a province.

          Yes, the Brits gave them aid, but they had to do a whole lot of heavy work to earn it.

        went throught the exact same procedure.

        Had to know all the Provinces, Capitals, What/Where Ottawa was, Political system and Speak ENGLISH….and when we got to the Citizenship court (june 1967), and had to recite the swearing of Allegiance, there’s 50 Chinese sitting there doing it all through an interpreter..!!

        My Dad, not one to keep his mouth shut when he encountered UTTER BULLSHIT, near got hit with Contempt of Court for his outburst of outrage….He was pissed. to say the least.

        Nowadays it’s an utter joke. Cdn citizenship doesn’t MEAN Squat.

And BOY.. does Barnes EVER have an opinion on Chris Wallace. Then it morphs into the Proud Boys at the 39:30. Barnes knows Gavin McInnes who started the PB’s and has since left. Very interesting. Then they discuss the Trump Taxes story and how the Media got it so wrong.

      1. I’m surprised that we’re not being taxed on the air we breathe and the daylight we use but, I’m sure, that’ll be coming when Prinz Dummkopf believes that his foundation isn’t being sufficiently enriched. And Canadians will joyously contribute to it.

    1. Two delightful interludes during the German invasion of Norway. First, the German heavy cruiser Blucher trying its luck against ancient Norwegian coastal defences in Oslofjord – even funnier because the Norwegians had bought them from Krupp in the late 1800’s. The kriegsmarine assumed they’d long since fallen into ruin – sorry; guess again, and their guess that Germany’s northern brethren would not open fire on them didn’t pay-out either. “Either I will be decorated or I will be court martialled. Fire!”

      Further north, RN and kriegsmarine destroyers had mixed it up at the first battle of Narvik, losing a couple each and thoroughly enjoying themselves. Narvik was pivotal to the German war effort, as Swedish iron ore had to be shipped to Germany from Narvik after the Baltic Sea froze in winter; this was well-known to the U.K., and Churchill had gotten himself in trouble earlier in the war by trying to get permission to mine Norwegian coastal waters to disrupt the trade – but no, Norwegian was still sovereign and still neutral, and the Cabinet wouldn’t hear of a hostile act like that. Things changed after the Germans invaded Norway.

      Meanwhile back up north, the stage was being set for the second battle of Narvik. The RN assumed that, destroyers having fought destroyers, the kriegsmarine would send-in a cruiser or two to reinforce their remaining destroyers in Narvik. And what do you do when the enemy sends cruisers? – I mean c’mon, what would ANYBODY do? – the RN sent a battleship. HMS Warspite had a happy war, showing a positive genius for turning-up where things were hot; and on its way up the Ofotfjord to Narvik it had a field day, firing its 15″ guns at puny destroyers and generally wrecking all sorts of German stuff. It launched its Swordfish spotting plane to scout side-fjords for any naughty destroyers that might be up in them preparing torpedo ambushes, and after the little ‘stringbag’ did that job, they flew up the fjord to the town where it caught the Type IX u-boat U-64 just submerging off the wharf, and bombed and sank it – a really good day for the Swordfish, which thus added to its record the first u-boat sunk by aircraft in WW2, and the only u-boat ever sunk by an airplane launched off a battleship.

      Several other naval factoids from the invasion of Norway, some good, some not-so-good. HMS Glorious, a WW1 battlecruiser converted to an aircraft carrier, was captained by an aviator for some reason. He saw no need to take simple precautions such as putting scouting planes up to check the surrounding seas for enemy threats, and Glorious allowed itself to be snuck-up-on by Scharnhorst and Gneisenau, which sent it to the bottom with the loss of 1,200+ men. Also during the campaign, Scharnhorst and Gneisenau decided to try their modern luck against the old R-class battlecruiser HMS Renown – I mean it looked good on paper, Renown’s six 15″ guns against their eighteen 11″ guns, but it didn’t work-out so well in practise and, Gneisenau being lightly mauled in the ensuing action, they changed their minds and left quickly.

      1. People often don’t realize how utterly devastated Kriegsmarine was after that campaign. It wasn’t merely a loss of thee cruisers and ten destroyers. At the end of the campaign they were down to one pocket battleship, four weak light cruisers (including museum quality Emden), two pre-dreadnoughts and less than ten destroyers. Every other major ship was either sunk, undergoing repairs or not ready for combat yet. They have never after managed to deploy a similar force. The state of Kriegsmarine was a reason why Sea Lion had no chances of success. It wasn’t the only reason but by itself was enough.

  15. Today Great Leader Kim Sung Trudeau holds another press conference to explain how wonderful he is. He then heads for Harrington Lake to relax. Its a good thing he doesn’t have to worry about heating costs going up 60% because of his new environmental regulations.

  17. Blackie’s CTV and CBC are excited that a muslim girl from the Islamic Caliphate of Toronto will star in Disney’s new series about a muslim superhero. Now muslim kiddies can watch on Disney as the brave young superhero kills the filthy Jews and Christians.

    1. Does that mean that movies like The Shaggy Dog and characters like Pluto will be removed? Any film featuring Tommy Kirk will also have to be destroyed because he was, well, you know…. As for that infidel temptress Annette Funicello, any flicks featuring her will have to be re-edited to show her wearing a sack.

  18. Blackie’s CBC is excited that flush with new money from U.S. environmental groups, hereditary chiefs in B.C. are going back to court to stop the gas line project. They site it contravenes the missing indian report somehow and effects gender health.

  19. The other night on the Fox News Channel Mark Steyn suggested for the next U.S. Presidential debates, if there will be any, that Trump should never interrupt Biden. He said that Biden would wear himself out talking away. A good strategy for Trump, if the last debate was any indication.

    The interview that Tucker Carlson had with Mark Steyn on Tucker’s show after the Trump-Biden fiasco is nowhere to be found. Please link it, if you can find it.

    Looks like Fox News is now censored. From now until the election, if you are so inclined to watch the political gabfests, your best best bets are the evening shows like Tucker, Hannity and Laura on the 8 to 10 pm Eastern time slot. Most of the rest is pure garbage.

    This is the only piece on the topic that I could find from Tucker’s show. He makes some valid points.

  24. Warren Kinsella calls a black woman a loon on twitter. Kinsella made the comment about Lewis writing in the National Post about Canada experiencing a socialist coup.
