Liberals never concern themselves with government spending until it effects their life.
Civil servants never concern themselves with government spending until they think its going to be cut or the government may run out of (other people’s) money for their department.
They know if the credit crunch comes their justification for existence is tenuous enough to deem their department unnecessary.
They also know that there may be enough voters that may want to give the government a haircut, enough to put their meal ticket on the opposition side of the house.
I don’t think it’s virtue that is making them nervous, it’s about losing elections.
This country, and it’s probably just as true elsewhere, needs a serious reduction in government across the board, federal, provincial, municipal. Besides that, the governments should have clear jurisdictions and not stray from them. Basic services and nothing else until the stupid debt levels are reduced. Those who pay the bills should be voting, and those with a conflict of interest shouldn’t!
Fantastic idea! We could write that into some kind of document and make it a law that the government can’t exceed the limits described therein.
While we are at it start the rumour that whistleblowers get 10% of recovered funds that have been, uh ‘misdirected’. The reports of criminal activity will drown the boy and run the scammers out of office before they can do any more damage

I just caught an email from the Rebel media. Ezra interviewed one, Rocco Galati, a lawyer on his show last night, a fifty minute interview. Galati is suing the Liberal government, Mayor Tory, Doug Ford, Tham, and a whole slew of government types over Covid! This interview has been released on Youtube in it’s entirety. Apparently Mr Galati has had a lot of prior successes suing prime ministers before. He has filed a 192 page statement of claim with the courts that basically claims the Liberals, Trudeau, along with Tham etc, have with no basis of facts on the impositions on Canada over Covid, and has illegally and unconstitutionally damaged the economy.
This is gonna be epic.
