I don’t go to many movies, so when I go to spend my hard-earned dollars I want to make sure it’s worth it. Few years ago when Black Panther came out I tried looking up movie reviews to see if it was a good movie.
Unfortunately, all I could get out of the reviews was that it was a good movie because it had lots of black people in it. Yes, that’s nice, but is it well-written, will I enjoy it?

None of them mentioned the plot or writing or characters except to mention how ‘black’ it was, as if that was the main criteria for going to see a movie.
So I never went to see it. My kids all did and told me it was ‘meh, ok’ so I’m glad I didn’t waste my money, but why is skin colour the basis to see a movie? I didn’t go to the theatres to see Die Hard or Terminator because a white man was in the starring role.
Race has value when it gets you pushed to the front of the list for jobs, promotions and contracts.

Our side doesn’t think that race has value, the other side does. Based on history, their side sees nothing wrong with inflation. Interesting that if one is black and applying to college, the entrance requirements are lower than those of a white person, who in turn, has a lower standard than that of an Asian applicant. If that isn’t racism, I don’t know what is. But because it’s favourable to blacks (and unfavorable to Asians) it doesn’t exist as such.
Not sure I’m willing to buy what’s being sold here. My overall impression of corporations is that they are running scared. You portray a proactive driven mission. I see it more as a reactive mission. As in most things, sales is a popularity contest (especially in the West where there are competing brands). All it takes is some bad PR and your competitor takes over a good chunk of your market share.
To this point it has been a one sided proposition. It has been the SJW’s who have actively tried to destroy corporations unless they donated, advertised or outright regurgitated their inane messages. Conservatives and moderates have overlooked that process (and let’s call it what it truly is…Extortion). However, that’s starting to change. Hollywood is a good example. Conservatives have stopped going to movies as a result. Gillette was one of the more recent corporations to receive backlash on their extorted virtue signalling with that nonsense commercial supporting women. So, now corporations are finding that by going along with the SJW obligations they landed smack dab into a Catch 22 situation, because now the Anti-SJW’s are starting to use the behavior of these corporations as a basis on which to make their purchases. Dick’s Sporting Goods bends over and takes it from the anti-gun crew. Guess what happens to their profits? Get Woke Go Broke isn’t just a cute little saying. The NFL bends over for the anthem kneelers…guess what happens to their attendance?
Corporations as a whole screwed up. When they were pressured to bend over by the SJW’s they should have said…sorry, we sell razor blades, we don’t get political. It would have paid to actually advertise in that fashion to set the tone. Instead, the jackasses in the board room have alienated both sides of their customer base.
No, these social awareness campaigns tied to their products aren’t proactive…they are most definitely (for the most part) reactive and now damage control.

Were I running the advertising for any major corporation right now….here’s how I would advertise.
“Hi, we’re Coke. We make drinks that you enjoy….all of you. So, going forward, we’re changing our approach. We don’t care what your politics are. We don’t care where you live. We don’t care about your race, religion, sex, or hobbies because those things don’t have anything to do with what we do here. What we do care about is making refreshing drinks and making them well. And, we make them for all of you. ENJOY!!!”
