I Want A New Country

Your open thread on the just announced Trudeau gun grab and instant criminalization of thousands of law abiding Canadians by Order in Council.

(Unless you’re First Nations and use these “military firearms which are only designed to kill people” to hunt, in which case — carry on.)

Keep the language clean.

  1. This latest exercise in fascism was started by a nutter appearing to be a cop.

So if some guy appearing to be a cop suddenly shows up at your door demanding to take your property away, why should you believe he’s legit?…

    1. @Lord of the bugs

“This latest exercise in fascism ‘ was in play a long time ago.
Why let a crisis go to waste. If there isn’t one let’s make one.
That’s why we are here. Opportunistic cocksuckers. (Sorry Kate)
13 fucking hours shooting up a community 22 dead.
No one would think this could be a false flag to drive a gun ban, No, not in Nova Scotia!
13 hours an idiot shot up & burnt down the countryside. 13 fucking hours. Excuse me?
How convenient in the middle of a pandemic! (Another questionable exercise)
The only gun we know was used was the weapon of the slain RCMP Const. Heidi Stevenson, (may God rest her soul). Most likely an M&P9.
WHY was there not any other info released on the other weapons?????
      Political !
I bet there were no AR15’s used!!
If there was there would be detailed pictures.
Correct me if I am wrong. All illegal guns for sure.
      Pissed off
      This is bullshit.

  2. My hope is that in the two years before mandatory compliance starts being enforced, a lot of things can happen.
Isn’t it possible that individual provinces can refuse to enforce the ruling?
Down here, there’s a big move towards Second Amendment “Sanctuary” Counties with the County Sheriff being the chief elected law enforcement officer of the County.
I realize there’s lot’s of differences, I just want to say, don’t give up hope.

    1. Provinces may refuse to enforce.
But can or will a business owner stock ammo and parts?

  3. Matt Gurney has a good column over at National Post explaining that 1500 guns is really 5. Still offensive, mostly paff.

    1. That piece is wrong. Again, you don’t understand anything about guns. Either that or consciously carry water for Libranos and manipulating the narrative.

        1. It does not matter what is the number of specific types or sub types or sub variants, The guns banned are the most popular mag fed semi auto riffles people actually have. ARs, Mini 14s, VZ 58, M14s, RobArms, SiGs those are the majority of mag fed semi auto guns that people play with, guns that we see at the ranges (again a part of the world that you, and other coffee house pretend libertarians, have never sampled). It does not matter how many very rare guns that only a handful of people have did not get banned. The guns that got banned are guns that people buy and shoot. Those are among the last popular semi autos left.

On the odd chance that you actually drive a car, here is an analogy for you, suppose the government bans the mainstream brands, all Chevys, Toyotas, Fords etc. And there are you saying “no big Deal I can still drive a Rolls-Royce or a Trabant”.

          1. Okay now that is actually a good point….but Gurney wasn’t wrong. He just didn’t fully understand the ramifications of the 5 banned weapons.

          2. Yes, it is also the obvious point to anyone familiar with gun culture in Canada. And that is how repeatedly we keep losing. I just had a long conversation with a guy who argued about assault riffles (military term) and the right to own them by Canadians. He knew the definition of assault riffle, regurgitated it perfectly from wikipedia and then got confused about gun features of ATF definition of assault weapon from Clinton ban years. I had to slowly and carefully explain that “assault rifle” and “assault weapon” are two different concepts (whatever the second one may be), completely unrelated and purposefully confounded.

            “Gurney wasn’t wrong.”

No he just danced around the point. NP plays the role of sanctioned independent media behind the Iron Curtain. They relentlessly kept piling on our leaders that they could be even perfecter.

  4. What makes one want to cry is that there is no one to speak on your behalf. This effing grease stain punk gets away with whatever he wants and no one speaks out against him. If I were the Conservatives I’d be threatening and preparing for legal action or something. But they just sit there and do nothing. It’s GD infuriating. With friends like that who needs enemies. Is it time for a revolutionary war? It sure seems that way. Or have we become too fat, lazy, stupid and comfortable? All we seem to do is whine about it and nothing more. Beware of a government that takes your arms. Wake the F up people.

  5. There’s an easy way to get a new country: allow 100 million immigrants in without pause. There: you’ve got a new country. That I am the only one here supporting this sound plan shows that I am the only one here who really wants a new country.

    1. A strategy equivalent to killing yourself in order to enjoy the after life, if your life sucks today.

      1. Canada has been ‘killing itself’ for over 50 years and yet is wildly wealthier than it was then.

You’re wrong and you’ve been nothing but wrong. That’s why we crush you.

        1. Typical fallacy that you love to repeat in a vain belief that it will eventually become true. There is no indication that mass importation of low IQ Librano electorate made Canada weather. If anything Canada become wealthier despite that not because of it. We would be even wealthier if you weren’t allowed in.

And yes, I know you Libranos are crushing us and destroying the world you don’t understand. Again we’ve been over it already. You keep raising the toast to your success with the golden chamber pot in your hand. Savage.

          1. “There is no indication that mass importation of low IQ Librano electorate made Canada weather. ”

Yes there is it’s called economics. Deeper markets function better.

          2. And again you clinging back onto theory. The same theory that tells you that one cannot win a trade war, that assumes perfect mobility and information, that abuses the static models and notions of instant adjustment, that there are no strategic resources and that falls flat on its face when you introduce a subscript “t” and start playing with dynamic models around the third year undergrad… you did not get that far did you?

  6. I would like to suggest that Wexit encompass Northern BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, all of Ontario except for the 905, 416 area codes and Ottawa itself.

Please don’t confuse Ontario with our overlords in Toronto and Ottawa.

    Let’s do this!

    1. Let’s not.

The only remotely useful separatist movement is Alberta, and even that has little chance of ever happening. To expand beyond that is to throw away any chance it is totally unserious. Further, Saskatchewan is land of crown corporations and stagnation.

  7. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong but it looks like the Liberal geniuses just banned a whole bunch of 5-shot rifles because they’re like military weapons.

  8. And first Hitler took their guns then all their property our bank accounts will be next to pay for their fxxx ups.Bury your weapons we will need them

    1. Thank you drive-by RCMP plant. It is always refreshing to see you visit SDA, fishing for criminals and advocating crime every time Blackie commits another atrocity.

  9. “(Unless you’re First Nations and use these “military firearms which are only designed to kill people” to hunt, in which case — carry on)”

I keep seeing this referenced, what is the source?

    1. Its in the order by blackface. One of the paragraphs after the list of firearms exempts people who use their formerly non-restricted firearm (for example a mini30 or an m14) for sustenance hunting (indigenous)

  10. Perhaps it is time for Albertans and any other Canadians to start looking at Civil War. And why not what the hell is left to lose. There are only 3 boxes. The Soap Box. That does not work you are censored. The Ballot Box. That does not and can never work in Canada because you do not have a vote of equal value. That leaves the only other option the Cartridge Box.

  11. Billy Boy the Boob Blair couldn’t keep the mob at at Bay Street and the Gardiner under control. Nice of the Liberals to set up Mounties for execution when people defend their Property RIGHTS. Now Justin can shovel more imports into the country to live in your house.

    1. “Justin can shovel more imports into the country to live in your house.”

STFU. No one’s being forced to house immigrants.

      1. Hey UnMe, what was that address that you reside in so we can send them to your place to hang out. You keep coming back up on this site like a tainted pizza. What gives with that? All that stuff about illegal immigration making the country grow and prosper. Bring something to the table will you that points out where such action will benefit the country. Oh yah right more dependent Blackie voters waiting for their handouts. Your such a cultural enricher.

        bverwey

  12. Just read some of it, there are anti-tank weapons, missiles, mortars and RPG’s. Who is the law aimed at?

  13. A statement I have just received from Derek Sloan running for the Conservative leadership, I am copying it here in its entirety. Neither of the two front runners comes close to this guy.

“Once again, Justin Trudeau is pouncing on an opportunity to push his ideological agenda in making major changes to firearms policy that won’t make Canadian safer, but will increase state invasiveness into the lives of law-abiding citizens.

Justin Trudeau is using a national tragedy to scapegoat law-abiding gun owners.

Team Trudeau has made it clear throughout this pandemic that they don’t respect the essential democratic role of Parliament.

Now they are using the current pandemic and the immediate emotion of the horrific attack in Nova Scotia to push through policy that won’t receive the scrutiny it deserves.

The RCMP has made it clear that the Nova Scotia shooter did not have a firearms license, so all of his guns were illegal.

Seizing firearms from Canadians who obey the law does nothing to stop dangerous criminals who obtain their guns illegally.

Money used in any buy-back effort would be better spent on support for police and anti-gang units, action against rural crime and policing our borders to stop the smuggling of the illegal weapons that are used in most gun crimes in Canada.

I believe that the ownership and use of firearms for protection is a civil right, and I will approach all firearms legislation guided by that principle.

I will conduct a complete review of the Firearms Act and related regulations to safeguard the right of firearms owners to their private property. Legislation that has not proven to be beneficial to public safety should be repealed.

Like any real Conservative, I’m committed to firearms legislation that ensures Canadians remain safe and secure in their homes and communities, not opportunistic gun grabs that concentrate more power in the hands of the state.

If you agree, please consider supporting me as I stand for Conservatism, without apology.”

    Again, let this sink in:

“I believe that the ownership and use of firearms for protection is a civil right, and I will approach all firearms legislation guided by that principle.”

He is our guy, join the party, vote for him… or keep dreaming about some perfect candidate while the jackboot is crushing your throat.

    1. “Neither of the two front runners comes close to this guy.”

Thank God for that. Sloan is an idiot who wants to raise the age you can purchase marijuana at to 25 and lower immigration, which would be as devastating as anything Trudeau has done. The CPC should just kick him out of the race like they did to Decarrier or whatever his name is.

      1. Thanks, your words are a perfect endorsement of Sloan. I notice you fail to address anything he says above.

  14. L-Note- P.M. Justin Trudeau, Minister of Health Hajdu and Dr. Theresa Tam have not been competent enough to ensure the security of Canadians food supply chain during their “shelter in place” to save lives !
This applies to both the federal and provincial governments.

No Pandemic model of mortality includes those who will die due to delayed cancer treatment or delayed diagnosis of same. Nor does the model include the amount of increased suicide due to despair over losing: their business, their job, their life savings, their home, their marriage, and their hope in the foreseeable future!

Note that no one in either the federal gov’t. or provincial gov’t. including fed. and prov. Departments of Health has even thought to address the question !

A disarmed population has no way to object to or stop food shortages or death by famine via government fiat e.i. which has happened in the Ukraine to the Kulak farm population under Pres. Joseph Stalin.(USSR-winter of 32-33) to an estimated 6 million Ukrainian families.

  15. But the problem is that western Canada does not control who gets elected to prime minister. So you comment is ridiculous. And what about Obama. So its true for the Americans to.

  16. If the RCMP had alerted Nova Scotia that a mad gunman was on the loose I expect many firearms owners would have unlocked their gun cabinets and loaded their weapons just in case he knocked on their door. I know I would have done.

  17. Yup We need a new country.
Amazing how far away Can Ahh Duh wandered while we were dreaming.
So by Order of What and deferred for two years…
We have known for years how inept our elected representatives truly are.
This Wuhan Panic has brought them into the spotlight, again.
They can shut down the country.
They can order us to house arrest.
    Yet they can produce nothing.
    They only take.
Now as we find out the Pandemic Panic was overblown, the minions of governance can not point to even a ghost of a plan to let us get back to producing..
Think about that,if you can,we have been “locked down” for two months, yet our fearless leaders do not have and never did have(from all evidence) a plan to restart what they ordered stopped.
You might concede that is stunningly inept.
If you lied, cheated and stole for the “privilege of governing Canada” only to freeze up when “blessed” with an emergency..The golden opportunity to demonstrate your “superior skills”..

What kind of genius throws on the E Brake before they consider the consequences?

Actually, now I put it that way.. my local Liberals drive just like these Ottawa tools govern.

Now a few defeatists here keep whining Separation will never happen..
Open your eyes,Separation is being rammed down your throat.
What would Justine’s Liberals do differently,if they were actively encouraging Western Separation?
What might they have done differently,if their actual goal was to shatter Confederated Canada?

So either they are so inept, that they should be forced out by vote of no confidence,or they are acting as paid.

The comments over at Glob and Maul are appalling, ignorance so thick that we can be sure this criminal act of theft by bureaucracy, will bring Trudeau more votes.
They are defending this Gun Grab and destruction of wealth cause “Nobody needs an automatic weapon”.
Even when the food supply chain falls to pieces,Libtards will chant “Dear Leader is Great”.

  18. 70 years ago this was a great nation.
Today, it’s no more than a shot hole.
We don’t have a leader, we have a u n loving commie jerk and the smartest thing on him is his socks.
His whole administration is no better.
And we have one very stupid electorate.
What a disgrace this country has become.
    God Help us!

  19. That was interesting, many comments, sound and fury signifying nothing.

  20. Here in the States I lost all my firearms in a tragic boating accident a few years ago. Maybe everyone should take their firearms for a boat ride some day soon. Don’t forget to take your ammo and bullion also.

  21. On the bright side.
Everyone who took saint Allan The Rockhead,at his word and then said WTF??? to Steven Harper’s reform of C68..
    Are now vindicated.
High River RCMP vandalism and theft of guns and ammo from the homes of registered long gun owners went off without a hitch,in the most conservative part of Canada ,under a Conservative Federal Government..
No one was held accountable, nor will any member involved ever be.

Laws are for thee, not for we.
    Now we head for anarchy..
All in the name of “Good Government” and “Protecting the public”..
Also “We have always been at war with Oceana”
