  9. I tried to find out how long it takes to get the result of COVID-19 test in Ottawa. Nothing in the local Ottawa media. Nothing on the province of Ontario website. Did a Google search. Nothing. Called my MPP’s office. The person who answered said she thought it was about 7 -14 days, but wasn’t certain. She also said the office was getting a lot of calls about this (Ya think?) She finished by taking my phone number and saying she would get back to me if she could find out more. Still haven’t heard from her.

    Complete and abject failure of the mainstream media to provide at least daily reports on this critical statistic.

    Global kill rate among detected cases will probably reach 5% by tonight, tomorrow at the latest. Remember when idiots here cried that 3.4% declared by WHO was a huge overstatement? Good old times.
    Highest daily increase in Canada already (and that even before Alberta and BC report). So no, we haven’t peaked yet.
    About 70% of new cases come from the turd world shithole of Kebek. Is it because they do more testing or the famous French hygiene?
    In the last two days the number of recoveries doubled thanks almost exclusively to Ontario. This is important, both Ontario and BC had their first recorded outbreaks at the same time. Yet Ontario recoveries came in about a week later. That is because BC was originally severely undertesting. Paging Allan S: care to remind us how BC was flattening the curve and Trum was undertesting, idiot?

That’s why there’s this whole field called ‘epidemiology’.   13. The real game changer will be a serological test indicating whose had and developed antibodies to it. If you’ve had it it’s over there’s no scientific reason to believe you can be reinfected. The sero+ qPCR- people should be allowed to do as they wish when they wish.

    1. Yes, anti-body test kits will be a game changer when they are available in large numbers; but unfortunately, there have been some examples of a few recovered people becoming reinfected. It will take time and more examples and follow-up research to determine why. Is it a problem with the immune system of the recovered patient or a characteristic of the virus? Hopefully, we’ll know before the 2nd go round likely next winter.

      Worst case is that this is the type of virus that can reinfect. Some vaccines, for example are only effective for a few years, as some types of virus evolves that fast and re-emerge.

      The unknowns(chaos), being in new territory keep predictions tentative and raise anxiety among institutions and people. Prof. Peterson’s explanations apply here, and the politically correct are higher in neuroticism.

Ergo when BC started mass testing and detecting it they were detecting it at later stages than Ontario was detecting it. Ergo BC undertested initially. Yes, they were testing early relative to US, but they should have been testing much earlier. Ontario on the other hand appears to have timed the testing more or less right. Alberta is undertesting by policy. No idea if the huge Kebek counts during the last week come from more extensive testing or more widespread infestation.

  22. Lets not skip over the much stricter travel restrictions Canada has in place compared to the USA. All foreign nationals barred entry with a few small exceptions. USA lists about 20 countries. We list the whole planet.

    Go ahead and look up inbound international flights to JFK. Madrid. Rome, Dublin, Montreal. The list goes on. All Covid hotspots.

    Canada requires isolation or quarantine for 14 days when returning from abroad. 750k fine and 6 months jail. USA requires nothing only makes weak recommendations.

  24. I have a theory on why PM Cowardly Crumpet won’t be tested for the virus. Dictators are notoriously paranoid. A test demands at least a vial of blood. You can tell a lot about a person with a blood sample. He would have to give up control (which a narcissist really hates) and trust that they were testing for one thing. A guy who has been serially bribing people would figure someone could easily bribe a lab technician. Also there may be life style or other diseases that might be detected. His medical records are likely as sealed as Obama’s.
