  2. I am sad to report that, apparently, John Prine is in critical condition due to Covid.
    John has had his share of health issues over recent years, but was still willing to grab his guitar and play his iconic Americana songs, right up until this year, but no longer.

      1. Thanks Nancy Ross. I just played that one on my guitar at my kitchen table in homage to John. He wrote some fine tunes. Paradise.

    2. Many years ago, back when CBC was still worth listening to, I heard a recording of a John Prine concert. His rendition of the Mason Williams song You Done Stomped On My Heart was well-received by the audience.

    1. I took public transport here in Regina before retiring 3 years ago. The morning commute was good, as it was other people like me, going to work. I only worked a 7 hour day in the winter and a 4 hour day in the summer (business dropped dramatically and my deal with the co-operative was if there was work, I would do it, otherwise I went home). The commute in the afternoon was “less than special”. I am still traumatized by a First Nations woman, very badly intoxicated (on what I do not know), who refused to pay and then passed out taking 3 seats out of commission. She was not wearing underwear and had not had a bath in a very long time. No one wanted to go near her. I still have flashes of that memory – not pleasant at all.

    I think this story should get listed in the RCMP Depot museum for creativity, a charge gangstas will never live down.

  17. I just want to know exactly when does the 14 days actually start? Have been “in-house” for 13 days now, so does that mean I can venture out unimpeded tomorrow? Or will this 14 days start….later?….much later? Not that I have had any symptoms or traveled anywhere (my vacation was to be surgery on the 25th, cancelled of course). With the benefits being extended for months, I suspect I will be looking at the walls here for quite some time?

    1. My understanding is that the self-isolation/quarantine period has been extended “indefinitely”. I also have been under a 14 day self-isolation.
      I am not a big fan of the Federal government and think that this has turned into a “stealth operation” to see how many freedoms they can deprive the Canadian population.

  24. SW Calgary Shopping Trip Report:

    Went to the Superstore at 10 am. No lineup outside. Took a cart and wiped it down with a Lysol pre-moistened disinfecting wipe. Clean store. Lots of everything. Everyone was respectful, keeping a good distance from each other. Some wearing masks, some not. Checkout has personnel at every second cash, lineups extended into the grocery aisles, everyone 6′ apart, ductape markers on floors for cart placement.

    Cashier is behind a plexi shield. The cash area is wiped down after every second client, or so. Plastic bags given out. Some people still using their own cloth/store reusables. Personnel standing in front of empty space in front of cash registers directing people to the back of the line up to the cash. (saw one or two who were redirected to the back )

    Loto Bar closed.

    Got outside. There was a lineup of 20 people waiting to get in. Personnel making sure people were 6′ apart, outside, as well.

    Best to go before 10 am, imo.

    1. I flew to my house in B. C. earlier today, changing planes in Prince George. One of the TVs that were one was running CTV. One of the head lines in the sidebar on the screen mentioned that most “Canadians” approve of what Prinz Dummkopf is doing.
