  1. Great song/memories. Thanks Kate.

Medical sniffer dogs in Britain will be trained to sniff out coronavirus – with an accuracy rate above World Health Organization (WHO) standards.

    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2020/03/28/pictures-medical-detection-dogs-be-trained-sniff-out-coronavirus/

London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and Durham University to expand their dogs’ skill set beyond sniffing out malaria, cancer, low blood sugar, and Parkinson’s disease.

      1. You do realize that now that Soapy’s been cleared, we’ll be subjected to Prinz Dummkopf going “Nyah, nyah, I don’t have the viwuth…..”

  2. The National Post is reporting that a Saskatchewan Cabinet Minister is suggesting people “pray and repent” as a strategy for combating the Chinese flu

    1. I continually pray for the sick and health-care workers, and to an end to the Wuhan pandemic. Blessings.

    2. Well, there are worse things. Lots of people still pray, especially in difficult times and there are lots of reasons to repent in this decadent society. And, it is soon to be Easter, so this is a timely suggestion. Interesting that he deleted his post. Religion used to be at the centre of Western culture. Now it’s considered an embarrassment. Such a loss.

  3. For now, President Trump has held back on his proposal to lock down the New York City area, after Andy Cuomo threw a tantrum. The CDC is reduced to begging New Yorkers to avoid non-essential travel outside the region.

That was a mistake, which will cost many lives.

State governments, Rhode Island, Texas and Florida, Maryland and South Carolina among them, are not waiting to enforce a 14-day quarantine of arrivals from New York. Texas is planning to make surprise visits to New Yorkers obliged to self-quarantine and fine or jail violators. The will of Americans is clear: Gotham can keep the China virus—the rest of the nation wants to go back to work.

The “hotspots” of the virus, with almost no exceptions, are urban cesspits notorious for large “diverse” populations who simply refuse to practice the fundamentals of hygiene—and, of course, plagues of Overseas Chinese. Lock them down before they kill any more Americans.

    1. Doug Saunders, over at the left-wing Globe and Mail, wrote a column two days ago saying the large urban centers were the places to be, during the Wuhan pandemic raging on at present. I am not making this up.

      1. I was best friends with Doug in grades six thru eight in Burlington, Ont., then he got even more odd in high school. He is one odd and wacky guy. Got me into photography though.

      2. To the extent governments thrust into office by urban mobs completely neglected health care in the parts of the country that grow all the food and get all the resources out of the ground, he might have a point.

Allowing rural areas to ban travel from virus-infested cities is better than nothing. Premier Legault is doing just this.

  4. President Trump is now a “wartime president”. I think he’s up to the challenge! Actually he seems to be thriving at the moment. Listen to his speech today from Norfolk, VA as the Naval hospital ship USNS
Comfort is leaving for NYC.(Forgive me, not sure how to link it, I’m new at posting here, but it’s from theconservativetreehouse today). It brings to light the tremendous advantage that the Americans have, the military back up in their efforts to fight this pandemic.

    1. “the tremendous advantage that the Americans have, the military back up in their efforts to fight this pandemic”

Abraham Maslow said in 1966, “I suppose it is tempting, if the only tool you have is a hammer, to treat everything as if it were a nail.”

  5. So glad that Sophie Stepford is recalibrated and ready to go.
Just please don’t sing about it!

    1. Can I borrow that? I’ll save it for a post for later.
Suddenly Sophie comes out of the woodwork. Does that mean Sock Buoy is headed “back to work” WHO’s pulling his string this time??

  6. April 1st (fools) will soon be here. Will Trudeau announce he’s donating his Trust Fund to help fight the Covid 19 virus?

    1. Or he could announce he’s quitting. Now that would be an April Fool’s joke because we know he’d rather be carried out of office than resign.

      1. (Can I pray for “carried out” to happen really soon and repent my thoughts at the same time?)
I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s still PM when he turns 60.

      1. Yup. I did much the same. All my lights were on, several computers were running, and I watched a movie I recorded.

    1. I missed Earth Hour?

Darn, I use the time to clean my oven. That runs both elements full blast for over an hour. It is one way to remember to do it every year.

      1. Yup. An earlier poster noted just how dumb Earth Hour is by asking if all hospitals will be shutting off ventilators for an hour.

Because it should be a celebration that because of society and technology we’re no longer totally at the mercy of nature, who can really be a mother.

    2. I didn’t realize that yesterday, Saturday, was Earth Day. Perhaps the only benefit from this Wuhan pandemic.

    1. If Gates had used SARS 1.0 as the model instead of Ebola, the projections would have foreshadowed SARS 2.0. Ebola killed off it’s hosts before they could spread it to new hosts, an evolution poorly adapted to reproduce itself widely, More an epidemic. Gates biggest error was depending on WHO for his advisor for the presentation. Gates, not renowned for his fashion sense did not predict how the 60s-70s fashion of a basement stocked with canned/dry food to last months would return. SARS 2.0 reproduces offspring at a faster rate and mostly in asymptomatic hosts.

Will nations governments who listened to W.H.O. instead of those with genuine expertise, switch to a nation-state, theirs, point of view and funding ? Let’s return to that question in a year or so. .

  7. The mainstream media, like alcohol and cannabis retailers, only provide an essential service to politicians trying to keep the rabble quiet during the crisis.

The American media, in particular, is contributing nothing essential by both badmouthing President Trump and carrying water for Chairman Xi and his bootlickers in the Democratic party. They should be ordered to close down, and the hacks ordered to shelter in place till the Wuhan virus is contained, for the good of all who cross the path of the hacks.

President Trump is perfectly capable of speaking for himself on social media. The hacks can bitch and moan about it on their personal blogs while putting off learning to code.

  8. David Staples of the Edmonton Journal has done some great forensic journalism in this piece. It’s quite long, but worth it to follow the timeline from the end of December through to today, comparing the evolving and overlapping responses from China, Taiwan, the World Health Organization (WHO), and our Canadian federal government and opposition. Key points: Taiwan has been, and still is, barred from advising or participating in the WHO at China’s insistence. Taiwan also closed their borders two months ago, and today have very little community spread of the virus within their borders. We followed WHO’s (that is, China’s) recommendations. Read the whole timeline, and notice the revisionist history employed by China, WHO, and our federal government from January through March. It’s damning. I certainly hope we all learn something from this. https://edmontonjournal.com/news/national/the-road-to-canadas-covid-19-outbreak-timeline-of-federal-government-failure-at-border-to-slow-the-virus/

    1. KC5150

I saw that. I’m not much of a David Staples fan but he did a good job on this.

Once things return to a semblance of normal we should be in for some summer entertainment as the bong and Dr Strangelove aka Dr Tam attempt to explain their way outa this

  9. For SDAers able to access the National Post, their article on the CPC postponing their leadership election is worth a read. It turns out that sleazeball Peter MacKay had been manning the phone day after day lobbing for the CPC to carry out the election on time, irrespective of the national emergency. But finally, and belatedly, the CPC did announce a postponement. The reason they did was that Ontario premier Doug Ford declared that all non-essential services had to shut down.

Peter MacKay is a self-serving creep, not wanting the CPC to shut down operations. I will be helping the PPC and Wexit parties.

  10. Yesterday I mentioned that the execrable CBC News network started to show a large yellow box, at the bottom right hand corner of the TV screen, announcing the Rt. Hon. Justin Trudeau’s daily Wuhan virus briefings. Well, this morning the equally-excerable CTV news network has started showing a equally large white and blue box, announcing that Hizzhonor Justin Trudeau will be giving his 11 am press briefing on the Wuhan virus.

A case of monkey see, monkey do? Probably. The corrupt CrRTC gave the two sleazy networks a cartel-monopoly on all-news networks, whereby the two cooperate on all things broadcast. The cartel networks realize that Trudeau’s popularity is rising in a wartime situation, hence the two organizations want as many Canadians as possible to view him speak.

Notice that CBC and CTV do not announce anything for briefings made by public servant officials. To do so would mean actually wanting Canadians to get actual information. It’s all politics with CBC snd CTV.

    1. And yes, CBC host John Northcott reminds us that Rosmary Barton will be monitoring and discussing the prime minister’s press conference. She will handle things with her usual critical eye. /last sentence sarc

    2. Only watched one of his presentations for a bit. You could tell the drama teacher was at his acting finest. Won’t watch again.

    3. Is anyone bothering to watch Trudeau’s daily briefings? Ordinarily you would follow what is being said by a country’s leader during a crisis, but I find Trudeau so weak and phony, so lacking in leadership that watching would just make me more depressed. He is just reading lines fed to him. I prefer normal times when he is not so much in evidence.

    1. The difference is that most of 800 deaths are slip and fall, alcohol overdose, car accidents, and drowning. None of them spreads over the air and none of them follows an exponent over time. OMG!

  11. Some good news. The Toronto Sun reports the Mohawk reserves that blockaded railway tracks, are still keeping their smoke shops and illegal smokes factories open. Perhaps the 300 million dollars Big Chief Gay Eagle With No Balls is giving them can improve the quality. And just wondering. If journalists thought gay marriage and homosexual parades were the main issue in the last election, why are Unifor journalists not asking public health officials at press conferences if they believe in gay marriage, and whether they walk in homosexual parades. People in Toronto and Quebec want to know.

  12. After burning old truck tires during Earth Hour last night, and after my fourth gin and tonic, I got to wondering. What if that old English movie “The Mouse That Roared” was prophecy? So I emailed CNN about it, and this morning they are accusing Trump of letting the Duchy of Grand Fenwick invade New York.

  13. My question is, what is the end game for the virus? We will not eradicate every virus case. Our method of trying to flatten the curve will only accentuate the continuation of the virus. The virus numbers are so low compared to the overall population that the reemergence of the curve is inevitable, just too many hosts. What should have been done is to isolate the elderly and underlying issue cases while the normal population became immune. But we haven’t done that so tell me again what is the end game?

    1. I am hoping Trump will end it as he is pushing for back to work. If he is successful, Canada will have to follow suit, especially if people go back to work and nothing excessive happens regarding the virus. So far hospitals are not overwhelmed. Another risk is emerging, however, as in Ontario they seem to be postponing cancer treatments, and Dr’s offices are not operating normally. The longer this goes on,the bigger the risk of non-virus deaths and other problems.

    2. From what I have read; allowing the virus to simply take its natural course would result in many more deaths across a wider demographic. The problem is there is no vaccine for the virus. Yet. A couple books might interest readers:
Between Hope and Fear- a history of vaccines and human immunity by Michael Kinch or The Body by Bill Bryson published in early 2019. Here’s Kinch in Bryson’s book. Prescient.
“The fact is, we are really no better prepared for a bad outbreak today than we were when Spanish flu killed tens of millions of people a hundred years ago. The reason we haven’t had another experience like that isn’t because we have been especially vigilant. It’s because we have been lucky.”

      1. So if our luck has run out does that mean quarantines will be the “new normal”? – hate that expression. Lord knows the people “in charge” in Canada (who don’t direct the police) can’t wait to get rid of terms and elections. Do you actually get to have an election if Emergency Powers are engaged?

    3. Precisely.

Keep everyone segregated except for that lone guy with the Virus…?? and then what..?? Start this shit all over again.?

NO. The Entire Planetary population needs to be exposed or we face this shit again and again and again. Lets see how well or not how well SWEDEN, our newest Petrie Dish fares.

    1. Dylan has always been good at those songs that turn into a book.

Anybody remember ‘Lily Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts’? I personally like the Tom Russell version.

  14. Among the groups of people who have been reminded that they are not essential—and, frankly, aren’t being missed much by people with any taste—are Canada’s tribe of talentless “artists,” “musicians” and “actors.”

    https://www.theglobeandmail.com/arts/article-why-we-need-the-arts-now-more-than-ever/

Apparently the actors miss “the crowd,” and being the centre of attention of a captive audience. Attention-seeking behaviour is only a problem when Donald Trump commits it, of course.

Re-open the churches. Then we’ll see if the theatres are worth re-opening.

  15. Fox is putting on a live concert for charity tonight a 9 eastern. It’ll be on the radio too. I hope everyone out there in SDA land is well.

  16. Bought lots of seeds yesterday. I’m doubling the size of my vegetable garden. I advise everyone to do the same.

  17. Been thinking of sctv a lot lately. Probably because I can’t find it to stream. I think they had the talking heads on once. I might be misremembering.

Saw this link on instapundit. Go to Harvard and get broke. Or get broke and go to Harvard. https://www.campusreform.org/?ID=14597

  18. Great news! The Blackie The Pirate game show continues today. More money for the homeless, more money for the Kids Help Line, and more money for women’s shelters. Because feminist Trudeau knows that men spend most of their time beating their wives. Money for them, money for you, money for everybody. Hey, what’s a few more million dollars when the projected deficit is already 112 billion dollars. Join the Blackie The Pirate Game Show, and remember to vote Liberal. Meanwhile Pelosi just stated to Jake Tapper on CNN that Trump is responsible for the death of Americans because of his inaction. I guess he should have granted that money to the Kennedy Center earlier.

  19. Surprise

In our time of need the chicoms are sending medical supplies to Canada! Well don’t that beat all. Whata coincidence. Those human rights abusers are human after all.

  20. When Justin decides to write his memoirs, he will be able to brag that he did something his stepfather could not do He has single handily destroyed the province of Alberta, similar to what Pierre tried to do in 1982.

    1. He has single handily destroyed the province of Alberta

Not quite. Red Rachel had already started stomping on the province by the time the twit took office.

  21. The Liberal Party’s Toronto Star reports that Typhoid Blackie is worried about the China virus spreading in prisons.

  22. A buddy sent me a CNN screen shot that declared the virus is cured by having sex with a trapper…… I dunno? maybe….haha

  23. There were tornadoes in the U. S. this weekend. How long is it going to be before some enviro-loon claims that the virus is really a “climate change” issue. After all, won’t the storms spread the disease?

So, I guess, the increased carbon theft–er, tax–is really a public health measure.
