  1. When I saw Hillary being wheeled into her waiting van 3 years ago during the election campaign, I laughed too.
I was hopelessly optimistic that she’d only be alive by sucking her meals through a straw in a few months.
Bitter, bitter is my defeat on this issue.

  2. The Fed Conservatvies lost me a long long time ago … I’ve taken one more stab at it with the UCP, and they to date done SFA for Alberta as they continue to Dissapoint with nothing but endless talk – talk and dick all else. Staying the Course the NDP took with our Electrical Generating system, Not deleting some 40-50k Public Servants nor even taking a stab at cutting their overly bloated Wages/Benefits. Govts # 1 Budget Line item no less and as such, I see increased taxation here or a Sales tax being instituted.
    UnFkn believable.

Really, they’re just trough feeding Globalists with the same disgusting goal (Agenda 2030), as the Liberals – likely all bought and paid for by Soros and the UN.

I absolutely like what Max has to say…his policies are TRULY conservative and bloody well common sense, but, I dont see the PPC doing squat in any upcoming election….sadly. (I did vote for him)

Its downright depressing as I watch PM Fk Face eroding bit by bit & Selling off to to the ChiComms, what used to be a great Country – turning it into a massive debt ridden backwater… akin to many 3rd world IMF Owned shitholes. I’m 67, semi retired, feel that True Conservatives have ZERO voice and I see No One in this GUTLESS Feeble, Jerque me off, Sharia bound country standing up – saying hey…Enough.!!

All I see is more and more $$$ being taken out of our pockets for less and less freedom & services.

Neither Mckay or Otoole look to be that guy…simply 2 More Libcon ASSholes who will kiss Upper Canada – Power Corps ASS as all before them have and toe the UN Globalist Line.

It may well be time to start the process of immigrating to the US….or, better yet, Argentina (cheap living there – & its the wifes native country).

Sorry for the rant…but it is what it is.
I served this country back in the day…now, I wonder why I even bothered.
I’m beyond angry. I’m disgusted and to a point, resigned.
    Something needs to BREAK.

      1. Precisely OWG….precisely.

Argentina. Quality Malbec for a buck a btl.
That in itself may be worth the move…!!
        cheers

    1. “but, I dont see the PPC doing squat in any upcoming election….sadly”

That is the difference between voting for what you believe, or voting what you are told “Hillary is virtually guaranteed the presidency; we are putting it at a 98% certainty”

      https://www.huffingtonpost.ca/entry/polls-hillary-clinton-win_n_5821074ce4b0e80b02cc2a94?ri18n=true
“The HuffPost presidential forecast model gives Democrat Hillary Clinton a 98.2 percent chance of winning the presidency. Republican Donald Trump has essentially no path to an Electoral College victory.”

Keep listening to the CBC. Keep listening to people who say “so and so is not ‘electable’…”. Have fun with Trudeau term number 3.

  3. Does anyone actually think that Trump being re-elected will change the minds of people like those portrayed in the ad? It’ll only confirm their opinion about the deplorables and likely embolden them even more.

  4. Well said Steakman! The country is a mere shell of it’s former self.
I attended the assemblies in Ottawa leading up to the formation of the CPC. There was considerable optimism at that time. The message was “The West Wants IN!” “It’s time to quit voting for your Grandparents and start voting for your grandchildren!”
Those were ‘heady’ days. They are long gone. I shudder to think what the likes of Mr. Klein and Rod Love would be thinking and saying if they were still with us today.
Now our oil, an Enormous God-given Blessing if ever there was one, is unavailable to an oil hungry world. Ethical, reasonably cheap and for the most part, an employment rich resource! And it is stuck in the ground.
Should we leave Canada? Is there any other choice!
It’s not that the West Wants Out, rather The West MUST Get out! We in Alberta must get out from under the restrictions imposed by a ruling class in a foreign land.

    1. I spoiled my federal ballot with “Western Separation Now!” I am DONE with all Federal parties and believe Alberta, Saskatchewan and maybe western Manitoba can do a better job for themselves. I used to be a believer in Canada, but after living for 25 years in Toronto (left in 2002), I know now that they all think western Canadians just fell off the turnip truck and are “too stupid to feed ourselves!

      1. I got the same attitude from Vancouverites when I was at UBC 40 years ago. They thought that anybody from anywhere past Hope or, worse, east of the Rockies was a dumb rube and, because they were in Lotusland, they knew everything better.

That was one reason I moved back to Alberta after a year.

        1. That was an underlying reason why I left YVR in ’76 for Calgary….never looked back. My friends there at the time, could not believe I would leave the “Promised land”.

Fact was, for a the time, Alberta was the Promised Land….and with the right moves, Could – will be again.

  5. Len Webber, I told him he was a useless red tory once and he tried to track down my employer. Not surprised to see he’s on board Team MacKay.

  6. A Peter Mackay win is a Max Bernier win.

I would predict that within six months of a Peter Mackay leadership success, support will be evenly divided between CPC and PPC.

The election did not reveal the actual strength of potential PPC support. Many people in Alberta probably chose to stick with the CPC in the hopes of saving their jobs and getting the party elected to government. They could not have known that there was no chance of that given the weak support for the party elsewhere. And the PPC vote did not prevent them from taking power. It only cost them about eight seats, while they failed by over thirty. Looking at the ridings they lost without the PPC being a factor, they lost by thousands mostly to Liberals in suburban ridings. People there had no strong incentive to vote for Scheer, he didn’t present any really strong alternative to Trudeau.

Mackay will be similar, although he may be popular enough to get the Liberals to ease Justin into rehab or wherever he belongs, and let Frau Freeland run the country more openly. (vee must have order)

With so many globalists hovering over the dead carcass of the Canadian future, the best course will be to support the guy with the shotgun who will scare the vultures away and restore some sense of sanity to our government in the future.

If not Max, then who? Some unknown figure who would miraculously win the CPC leadership, expel the Cigarette Man types from leadership behind the scenes, turn the party into a more populist alternative? Such a person cannot exist. If he did, he would go into politics and become corrupted by the process. If he were outside the party, he would be dismissed as a nobody and he would not have the necessary skill sets to clean the stables. The insiders would out-guess him and remain in power. We’ve seen the movie before a few times.

Not totally sure where Max would actually take us, but the PPC is in a formative stage anyway, it could become more Trump-like or it could stay rather libertarian. Anything would be better than more globalist swill.

    1. Actually, I’d suggest “A Peter MacKay win is a Justin Trudeau win”.

Just like an Andrew Scheer win was.

  7. Must have been a real pissy pants joke to put Lemon into a fit of uncontrollable laughter. Any network that allows that kind of behaviour without taking action can’t be taken seriously. Apologies account for nothing.

  8. I’m with you Steakman.

Even after the CPC was unified under Harper MacKay was making trips out west to establish his cred as a possible successor to Harper. Why did Harper garner such loathing in the east. Simply put he was from the West and a challenger to the status quo of eastern political dominance. Harper threatened the flow of wealth from west to east. The biggest trick used was the influence of the Canadian petro $ as a reason why eastern manufacturing was declining. It allowed eastern provincial governments in Ontario and Quebec to cover up their mismanagement. Harper ended up betraying the West by thinking he could bring fundamental balance to the confederation. Real issues facing the country were never debated on the national stage.

IMHO the 30 years dedicated to the principals of Reform were a waste of time and that is on us Westerners for letting it happen. I was on our riding association board when top down management was re-established from HQ. Instead of fighting that and defending the grass roots input I resigned from the Board. While I saw no value in the monthly report on Ottawa for being my only reason for stay on the Board I trusted Harper and the Reform core of the caucus.

To this day the party of free enterprise cannot run their party like a business. Their idea of communicating with membership is a regular call for more money. Our riding association has no activity or communication and certainly is not interested in hearing from members. The Party has abandoned core fiscal policy and embraced Libel spending to buy votes. People like Peter MacKay see themselves as the Grand Arbitrator of how this money will be spent.

Wexit is how I will vote from now on, both federally and provincially. I won’t vote for Max as he is an easterner. He talks the talk but many before him have as well. Not interested in wasting another 30 years. Best case the West separates, worse case the West unifies as a voting bloc which defends western interests in a serious way. In all likelihood this discussion is irrelevant as Canada’s debt will implode the country within 5 years anyway. When the social promises made by Ottawa cannot be met the country will split. Many desperate people.

  9. The title of this post should be a “must read” for the “Conservative” apparatchiks.
Those people are so out of touch, this of course is intended by them, that they have no clue about the weather outside their office windows, don’t know what time of the day it is and don’t know what day of the week.
These “strategerists” just play with their idiotic ideas and don’t connect it to the world outside.

The facts of life are conservative, as Rush would say.
    End of story

  10. “It’s a lemon” .
    What did anyone expect?
It’s Canadian counterparts at CBC,which has almost as many viewers, are doing their bit to aid Western Separation.
The daily snide,Alt right, white extremist,Canadians are racist ..blurbs from the media party, superimposed on flattering shots of Dear Leader,”With NEW facial hair”are beyond parody.
    Wacists,White Supremest,ALT RIGHT NAZI’S..THEY ARE EVERYWHERE.
Funny how after 40 years in construction I have never met one.
    Maybe they congregate at CBC?
    Sort of like the Klan?
Who the media use actors to portray.

    Conservatives ?
“Somebody should do something about it”.
Forget the politicians and “political solutions” that is what brought us to this pass.
More “Government help” only from your Boys in Blue instead of red, changes nothing.
    Somebody is doing something.
The Alternate Economy grows apace with government theft.
Citizens have stopped contributing,or scaled their “Income” way back.
For when more than half is stolen, why work?
Citizens line up to join the “new middle class”,government payroll.
“Free medical care” is in open decline, noticed the endless adds for “supplementary medical coverage”?
Medical mistakes causing death/damage,waiting lists and useless infrastructure?
    Not even discussed anymore.
    Nothing to see here,move along.

Now we see the gun grabbers back again.
“For the good of the children”
Which is true, their children, who are trained to live off of the work of other citizens.
That “New Middle Class” is real, careers of slurping at the trough, while parroting the “proper” talking points and destroying any free enterprise and productive activity that has previously escaped government attention.

  11. These former GOP operatives/campaign hangers on like Wallace, Wilson, and Schimdt are just detestable. No core principles and sold out to the lib media establishment for a few dollars and a small audience to spew their bile. Trump has been invaluable in exposing who these people really are and what they think of you and I.

  12. Kenney is a “carpetbagger”. Big on talk, nothing on actually achieving anything.
Disappointing to say the least. Saddled us with the Dopes carbon tax instead of telling him to go pound sand – sue us because “my Alberta citizens’ are not going to pay your tax.
    No gonads, Kenney,

    1. Hosed in Ab…..Yep.

9 months in and the UCP has done exctly what..??
      Well they….

Ensured no reduction in pay for Public Serivce unionized workers
Ensured no reduction in numbers of Public Servants when it is clear the NDP added 10’s of thouands.
      No movement on the Firewall…
No movement on Stopping the flow of goods from BC across our land whilst we cannot do the same.
Allowing Trudeaus Carbon Tax without so much as a whimper of protest.
Buying into the utter Bullshit of Climate Change.

….and what blows me away is that they are continuing to destroy our Low cost and CLEAN Coal Generating system for no REAL good REASON.

CARPETBAGGER is an apt description of Jason Kenney.

      WEXIT.

  13. Don Lemon’s latest defense is he was laughing at the joke, not the people who were the butt of the joke.
So, as far as Lemon is concerned, it is okay to laugh at a racist joke, as long as you “only laugh at the joke not the people”?
Since you, Lemon, find nothing wrong with a black man (you, Lemon) laughing at a joke about white people, I presume you would find nothing wrong with a white man laughing at a joke about black people, as long as he is “only laughing at the joke not the people”?

  14. From the P-M link:

“On many issues, including immigration, the carbon tax, firearm owner rights, the justice system, and more, the views of the Conservative base represent the views of a majority of Canadians”

Oh really? One thing about being a conservative (small c, not big c) is that we accept the world as it IS, not as we WISH it would be. A statement like this needs proof. Lots of it. Because there are decades and decades of election results in this country indicating that 60-65% of the populace of this country share largely LEFTIST views. Sometimes a little left, sometimes a LOT left, but left all the same. There isn’t some mythical ‘silent majority’ in Canada just waiting for the right Conservative candidate to come along and make them all stand up and shout, “YES! THAT’S what I’ve been waiting to hear!” At best you’ll get a tepid, “Well, this bozo sounds less stupid than the Liberal leader, so let’s give him a try.”

Canada may on occasion vote for Conservative government, but they seem to want that government to be “centrist” at MOST, with “centrist” generally defined as “within spitting distance of Liberal party positions.” Alberta and Sask certainly seem to want a more conservative government, but their views simply aren’t shared by a plurality of the rest of the country. And that won’t improve so long as the Toronto metro area alone is home to more people than those two provinces COMBINED, and the city continues to a big red fortress.

I continue to be skeptical – at best – about Canada’s long term future as a single nation. AB & SK probably will be better off in the long run seceding. They’ll never get a fair shake otherwise.

  15. “And there isn’t an establishment Conservative in this country with the gonads to do it. ”

That’s for sure. Entry to the Big Blue Tent requires that you leave your balls and your brains at the door.

  16. Whispers: The reason why no establishment Tory in Canada would pushback is because this is exactly what they think of their voters, too….

  17. my take on why CONservatists keep losing elections in Canaduh:
because they are red CONservatists, and voters know it.
thus the calculation goes like this:
-better to firmly hold the nose and vote LIEberal and NOT have YOUR riding ‘left out of the loop’ with a
CONservatist mp in a LIEberal majority.
that is, a choice between LIEberal lite and the ‘real thing’.
(remember TURDoo 1.0’s quip about why the West got severely ‘left out of the loop’?)

alternatively (youse paying attention all you leader wannabes?), if, IF we had a clearly heartfelt outspoken CHOICE espousing true CONservative ‘values(what dat?) MAYBE the closet CONservative VOTERS would recognize the opportunity at the voting booth.

conclusion: the 2020 crop of CONservatist front runners are all goddamned COWARDS ready to betray the country for power.

this certainly explains a LOT of CONservative failures. hint: see ‘andy panda scheer’

  18. So the cons do have some power. They could refuse to support the free trade agreement unless the turd backs off on the impediments he plans to put in front of the Teck mine. I for one will not support a party that excludes media such as the Rebel. I believe they don’t realize they are in danger of losing the support of the areas they should be representing . Much of the support was based on anti Trudeau sentiment. When it becomes apparent not only can we not get rid of Trudeau , but they don’t really represent our interests either ,they are done.

  19. The reason the scam works is simple.

    Conservative party abandons principle.
Oz still votes conservative, because “least bad option”.

Effectively, it is because there is no penalty inposed by the base. The base rewards the party with donations memberships and votes, whether the party is conservative or not.

    It is that simple.
