In the minds of some, media darling Greta Thunburg appears to have superpowers such as the ability to change the minds and lives of billions of people merely by uttering 3 magical words: “How DARE You!”

Long before Dear Leader Greta ever came to prominence, a cousin of hers named Pepi Longsocks exerted his superpowers over everyone around him.

Returning to more recent times, Auntie Maxine Waters, had some important words for the residents of North Carolina.

    1. The fires are a joint project by Islamists, climate cultists and the Chinese communists who control the Australian Labor Party to discredit the current freedom-loving Australian government and putting a pro-Chinese government back in power in Canberra.

      Reminder that the areas burning in Australia have no significant Muslim or Overseas Chinese populations. The areas now being torched every year by eco-terrorists to discredit patriotic governments worldwide never do.

    2. BC? How’s about Fort McMurray? I heard that one was set, similarly to the Australian ones. We’ve got a few weeks until the reg’lar fire season starts, so what gives? Looking forward to summer here in WEXIT country.

      2. The fort Mcmurray fire was years in the making. For the last 3 decades we have had major fires north and south of us. The fuel load in the bush immediately around the city was massive. Mixed with a dry spring (May 2016) , an unaware quad driver with a hot exhaust, and bob’s your uncle.

        1. And how about building cities in the boreal forest without constructing a fire guard?

          Houses are built so close together one can jump from roof to roof. Construction of the houses consists of asphalt shingles with vinyl siding – sounds fairly fire resistant.

          Get a grip. Regardless of how the fire starts it is in a friendly environment. No fire guard, no clearing of under brush, build within spitting distance of the bush with a house that explodes upon contact with fire and yeah – blame climate change.

      3. McMurrays fire smoldered for a couple days, there were photos. Notley’s geniuses had their thumbs stuck somewhere, while explaining the WATERBOMBER contract cancellation. They wanted the oil production destroyed, like all good socialists.

        No one held to account, and she’s pondering another run for Premier.

    1. So then if I get this right, Poliver would irritate liberals and progressives so much that they would be outraged everyday he sat in the leaders chair?
      Sort of how most politicians that are right of center do everyday.
      Just playing devil’s advocate but “political staffers” are of and for trying to get inside Ottawa, so getting political advice from them is based on the POV of what’s good for Ottawa.
      As a parallel, and this is not a endorsement of Pierre, but didn’t they say the same things about Trump?
      Having said that, I don’t really care if the CPC decides to have a turnip for leader, until they start to represent the 40% that sit out the election because they don’t see a real conservative choice on the ballot, the progressive set can feel secure that their march to socialism will continue unabated.

        1. Actually the candidate running for the PPC in my riding was a complete loon.
          No doubt due to the time crunch to make sure the party had a full slate of candidates.
          Don’t have a problem with Max or the party.
          There will be another election.
          My point is that there is more or less 40% of the eligible vote that never shows up to vote because they don’t see anyone on the ballot that will work for them. Party leader can be what the dr ordered, but the local voter knows their vote goes to elect their MP. If the local candidate is a dud, those folks won’t see their vote making a difference and stay home.

        2. If Max was the conservative option, there is no future. His message was soundly rejected. He couldn’t win his own seat as the incumbent!

          Not sure what 40% you refer to? All voters who choose not to vote are conservative? That will come as a great surprise to conservative organizers. They’d figure out how to tap into that voting block as it would be instant majority. Why didn’t Max think of that?

      I had opportunity to watch the CNN special on Ronstadt. She was really something. Had a set of pipes that could overpower a 40 piece orchestra. She could do a stadium concert without a sound system.

      I never cared for her politics and thought her diction could have stood some work. It was especially noticeable in the Nelson Riddle arrangements (great American songbook material).

      That aside I enjoy every note that came out of that songbird. It’s a tragedy she is unable to sing.

        Unable to sing? By the same token, does that mean Sinatra could sing just because his enunciation was perfection? Methinks she could sing. But I’m no expert in music since I can’t carry a tune.

        I have no beef with you because I respect that you are a musician. And probably a good one. Your knowledge of songs is immense in most genres especially Jazz, R&R, Country, etc.

        I’m crushed nevertheless because I never noticed that her enunciation isn’t good.

          I should have made myself clear. Linda Ronstadt is unable to sing because she has Parkinson’s disease. She did her last concert in 1999.

          Although I question her diction I think you can see from my comments that I hold her in high regard. My criticism is more nit picking than criticism.

          I love all her material and have many of her cd’s/vinyl including the Spanish stuff that I don’t understand but appreciate her voice.

          She is unique in that although she is an untrained voice she sang Pirates of Penzance on Broadway to rave reviews. She cant read music but memorized the parts. This is opera! not some 3 chord country song.

          Ronstadt has no equal. She is a female equivalent of Mick. A genuine rock star but so much more.

          Don’t be so tough on yourself NR – enjoy the music

          2. I had no idea that she had been diagnosed with a disease that rendered her unable, literally, to sing. Gosh, how sad.

  9. CBC wrote an article about the fires in Australia. Not worth linking to. They showed a “fires map” which shows the location of all the fires across that country. They made a big deal of the record temperature (43.6 deg C) across the entire country. But they didn’t mention that the high temperatures were concentrated in the center of the continent while the fires were all around the coast (where it was much cooler). So why are all the fires located along the coast where the people mostly live and not in the center where the hot temperatures are?

    1. Piss poor Forest Management. Not allowing Anyone to enter, not allowing any Cattle to graze, not doing prventative burns, the list is long…and as per WUWT, the last 60 years have been wetter which promotes Growth – ergo more fuel htat piles up in dry times.

      All that in forests that NEED fire so as to germinate seeds.

    1. I passed through that region on vacation (from Canada) in February 2016, driving from Sydney along the east coast, and then the south coast to Melbourne. Watched the 2016 Super Bowl in a bar in the town of Orbost, Victoria. It’s a beautiful country. I’ve been to Oz 3 times now. It breaks my heart to see fires happening in many of the towns and regions I’ve been to.

      You should be asking instead why nothing is burning in the major cities where the greenies and their Muslim and Chinese friends live. As in California, only “the white man’s country” is being burnt to the ground.

    One guest calls Trump and Boris Johnson “liars” and wonders how they are able to get into power and stay there. Painful to listen to.

    The other guest – clearly an idiot – argues that the American Democrats should get less votes and win more electoral college votes so that they would be inclined to change a corrupt political system (the electoral college system in the US that prevents the more populated areas – that are mostly Democrat – from dominating in elections).

    Liberal international order … Liberal democracy … Neo-Liberal consensus [their words, not mine], is under threat, mostly by Trump.
