Wish I could show you all the pictures of LA snow that I took, driving over the Grapevine today. The LA desert mountains were blanketed in snow. A total whiteout. ALL of the hills, covered in white … everywhere you looked … white. Had to be about 18” of snow.

My new years prediction is that Donner 2.0 will involve a herd of electric cars (and truck). The lead driver, who survives only because a Tesla in the herd later spontaneously combusts and keeps him warm over night, will claim he swerved to miss hitting a smart car which later had to be canniblalized for parts. .. and pot. I passed several Tesla on i-5 … doing 65mph in the right lane (I passed them at a cruising speed of 90mph, in my smooth-riding, muscular, 335i, which still manages 24.5 mpg at that rate of speed). Every time I passed them, I reminded the wife how they’ll be stopping at the supercharger in Kettleman City (middle of nowhere) … and spending at least 2hr. if they wanted to make it home.
We fueled in Castaic… just before the grapevine … $3.55/gal. Pilot, picked up hot coffee and Cinnabon mini rolls … drove 350 miles and when we arrived home, still had 1/4 tank of gasoline. Our refueling took 5min.
Tesla are FANTASTIC replacements for golf carts … suitable only for trips to the local market, or short commutes to your Silicon Valley office that has 4 charging stations for the 36 Tesla that park there everyday.
We own an eco diesel 1500 which is the prius of trucks or something. We could squash the electric cars like grapes under our tires Bwahahaha. But seriously one of the best days of my life we drove a BMW on bendy cliff-roads in the south of France, made the last showing of Peche Merle cave. Afterwards we had duck and wine outdoors at a cafe in the middle of nowhere, then drove through Racamadour. Congrats on an excellent choice of vehicle.

I took a course in Uni called Graphical Analysis… in 1976. We could do anything we wanted to make “data” work by just playing with the two axis, x and y. Small vertical changes became LARGE, or anything you wanted by changing the scale, then add color. Note on the Weather Channel how “hot” the map is in summer just by the color changes. Red = 20 C, “hot”. 20 C = 68 F, my house in “winter”.
