  1. The same fools exist in Victoria. Despite the horse drawn carriages being a HUGE tourist draw, the animal rights and commie lunatics want to outlaw these, claiming THEY know whats better for the horses, than the owners of the horses.
One idjit, Ben Isitt (resident communist council member for Victoria) has suggest e-carriages instead of those dirty filthy oppressed horses being used. He was roundly criticized and castigated for his stupid ideas, but that doesnt stop him from consistently putting his foot in his mouth. He is the one who wanted the Feds to pay for police services on Remembrance Day, that was recently publicized and roundly criticized.

  2. Do you suppose that the fools protesting have any idea that horses were brought to the Americas to do the bidding of humans? They are not indigenous to the Americas. There were none anywhere in the Americas when, say, Cortez landed.

    1. There were horses in North America but they went extinct around the time of the First Nations arrival.

    2. …or realize if horses didn’t serve a purpose….they would all be extinct now

  3. Don’t forget that New York’s Comrade Mayor De Blasio made elimination of the horse and carriage industry a big part of his first campaign for mayor in 2013 and he’s been fighting ever since. Being New York, rumors are that some big donors to Hizzonor own real estate in the same neighborhood as the stables.

  4. Right vs Left.

Right: “I don’t like that, so I’m voting with my feet – I’ll take my hard-earned money elsewhere.”

Left: “I don’t like that. YOU MUST BAN IT!!!!!!”

  5. The left not only eats their own children, but like the worm of Ouroborus eats its own tail.

My grandmother’s Humane Society (well, actually my great grandmother’s) was an invention of Victorian Londoners to improve the conditions of horses drawing carriages.

While a horse could give about 10 to 15 years of service drawing Hansom cabs and live for up to twice that, it was more economic to work them to death in three or four years. The Humane Society was formed to promote regulation to prevent this practice.

  6. Before the advent of the automobile, many big cities were inundated with horses as power for most vehicles. The tons of manure produced daily were becoming a sanitation problem. Luckily, liberals were invented at about this same time. They love to roll in horse shit and wear it home. It’s a whin and whiney for everyone.

  7. Niagara-on-the-Lake, my old stomping grounds as a teenager. We used to drive our cars around the town clock pictured in one of the news items. We knew where the one town cop was when we did this.

Chautauqua had a nice little dance hall for teenagers at one time.

One Halloween, a local St. David’s horse was painted pink. No, I was not involved in that caper.

Many other news item pictures also have familiar landmarks as we see many of them every year when we visit family and friends.

I also see by the editorial content that I will not be subscribing to this newsletter any time soon.

The first capital of Canada is now largely populated by transplanted Toronto people who made housing very expensive and destroyed the old town charm it had up to about the 1980s.

Back to the horse issue. These Peta fanatics and their leftist pals will just keeping pushing until they get their way on every issue.

    1. “will just keeping pushing ”
the communistic strategy before there even was a communist dictatorship anywhere, and the reason why it then happened.
it’s why the viet cong won, they just would not stop, regardless of the cost in lives.
it seems to be ingrained in the megalomaniacal ego of a leftist, the obsession they carry in the brain.

I used to cycle to NOTL in the 80s from st kitts via the farm roads other side of the canal,
cross the one just south of the one on lakeshore.
scant vehicle traffic and the squawking bird deterrent devices, checking out the peach crop to know how good it would be.
      I got good at that.
my suspicion is the entire region has gone liberal/green/stooooopid.

      1. So you biked across Lock 2, Carleton Street. Though I’m surprised they haven’t changed the name yet.

Liberal/green? Not entirely. There is still a strong conservative base around Niagara-on-the-Lake even though the Niagara itself has big Toronto Liberal money. There are some houses dating back to the 1700s, those that didn’t get burned when the Americans took the town during the 1812-1814 disagreement.

  8. Just like the idiots from PETA and the HSUS demanding everybody go Vegan become of their idiotic morals of theirs block the meat area carrying stupid signs they have no right to tell people how to live these jerks need to be stranded in the wilderness for a who;e month where there are no stupid movies with talking piggies in them
