  3. A CNN report hits the airwaves claiming that children of illegal immigrants along the Mexican border are going without toothpaste and toothbrushes. Congress, in a near unanimous vote approves 4.5 billion USD to help resolve the issue. And please don’t misunderstand me, I know the problem is more complex than dental hygiene. .

    But just watch what happens when a leftist Democrat disconnects her brain from her vocal chords and complicates a simple problem that stems from too many illegals entering the USA.

    I do note that BC has had a carbon tax since 2008.

    Gasoline sales in 2007 were 4.8 billion litres in BC. In 2017 (last year with stats Canada data) gasoline sales were 5.2 billion litres. In spite of a carbon tax, gasoline consumption increased. And this doesn’t include all those filling up in Washington state.

    1. People don’t stop driving to work if the price of gas goes up. Likely a dollar a liter tax would not affect consumption. That’s what the government is counting on. They can be self righteous and profit at the same time. They love regressive taxes.

    1. I am expecting Biden to be the choice, unless as you say, Hillary or Michelle step in, which may well be the plan. Dems are looking very unappealing with their long list of unappealing candidates.

    I know, some of us still refer to this holiday as “Dominion Day”. What ever you refer to the day as, remember, Canada does have a good and proud history and we should have pride in what the day did represent even if we deplore the current direction. Maybe the young men above can in some way in the future correct the course.

      I still don’t understand the problem with the almost uniquely Canadian title of Dominion. Apparently New Zealand retains the title too. Maybe the French hate it but they hate anything.

      1. Yes Ottawa celebrates Genocide Day July 1st. The show at parliament hill will start off recognizing that the event is on indian land. Then expect the usual beating of drums, waving of feathers, and chants to the sacred tree frog. The CBC will have great shots of muslim women with bags over their heads, followed by many Diversity Is Our Strength speeches.

    Trudeau’s energy policies risk fueling western separatism says billionaire entrepreneur and philanthropist Seymour Schulich.

    The Liberal Government has passed Bill C-69, which revamps the federal environmental assessment process for major resource projects, and Bill C-48, which places a moratorium on oil tanker activity along the BC coast. Western Canadians and industry leaders have forewarned that these Bills will bury the oil and gas industry in a regulatory quagmire and kill investment in resource development projects. Even more worrisome than this is the thought that these new laws have spurred raw, regional tensions that could result in the busting apart of Canada itself.

    Parliament just passed Bill C-88, which places a moratorium on offshore oil drilling in the Arctic and effectively shuts down any would-be resource extraction in the north. Also the Senate may still pass an Indigenous Peoples’ Rights Bill C-262, which grants Indigenous communities an uncontested veto over any proposed resource projects.

    It is sad that as we approach what should be a day of celebration of Canada’s achievements we are being torn apart by politicians in Ottawa, Victoria, Vancouver, and Quebec City who are bent on destroying the economy of western Canada in the name of a misguided tyrannical climate ideology designed to impoverish 6 million people.

    1. Even if he should win this fall’s election, do you really think that Andrew Scheer will reverse any of these bills? I don’t that much faith in him as he has rolled over on everything so far or at best said he will tweek the initiative a little here, a little here.
