After two weeks of working 18 hour days, topped off with another 18 hour drive home from Minneapolis yesterday, I’m only partially “back”. I need a day or so to rest up, clean up, and get my mind back into current events.
Many thanks to our guest bloggers for helping when they could, and to you our readers, for your patience.
On another note, it seems a few of you in the comments section have been abusing your privileges by posting borderline commentary and beyond. I’ll be clamping down on this in the coming days, and may even do some mass deletions if I see fit. Bottom line, this is my private property. You’re welcome to visit and discuss and debate, but when you write graffiti on my walls expect to be shown the door.
Blogging should return to normal in about 48 hours.

Welcome home. Hopefully your endeavors went well. Lance and others have been doing a great job of filling.
Yes, clean up the graffiti. I was beginning to be concerned about liabilities of various sorts, and the possibility of losing some good visitors.
Ken, I agree. A few nut jobs can drive out well-meaning conservatives away from this site. The nasty boys don’t realize the damage they do to the conservative cause. I am not talking about the ongoing PPC vs. CPC debate that is going on here. For what it’s worth, that debate is healthy and sorely needed. I worry about the nasty, mean-spirited stuff. It doesn’t do anybody any good, except giving aid to the totalitarian left (e.g., CBC News).
Agreed.
We had only a few minutes of wifi access (via fast food restaurants) in the last week, and that was spotty at best. My plans to keep up with the blog in the evenings went out the window with the heavy work and travel schedule.
Bottom line, this is my private property. You’re welcome to visit and discuss and debate, but when you write graffiti on my walls expect to be shown the door.
Oh, the irony.
I doubt you actually know the meaning of the word, either the true one, or the Alanis one…
Her house, her rules.
What is ironic about that?
When you’re ready to step up to pay my legal bills, then you get a say. Until then, find yourself another blog if you don’t like it.
Welcome home, Kate. I hope those 18 hour days were productive. I envy nobody drives of that distance. God be thanked that you made it home safe.
You missed nothing worth reporting in our home and native land—nothing good, anyway. The Dauphin is still in power. The Dairy Queen has shown no sign of wanting to change anything even if he somehow managed to push the Dauphin aside.
Before you get back to politics perhaps we can hear the highlights of your adventures (and victories) in the Fruited Plain once you get some rest. There will be no “current events” to report in heaven, and certainly no journalists. There will be plenty of dogs though. The management wave them through the gates.
And it would do my heart good to hear of actual Canadians bringing home prizes, won fair and square.
Welcome back Kate. Hopefully a your extensive collection of ribbons and trophies grew as a result of your trip.
Welcome back, Kate. Your blog is a real favorite of mine, and I agree with you on those who besmirch it.
Are links….
(with beforehand warnings of “viewer discretion advised”) forbidden if the link may have off color language ‘in’ it?
If so, my apologies.
No, but some of the anti-Semitic and related crap is going to get the boot, along with crude language that isn’t work safe. I don’t follow the comments closely, I expect regular readers to know better and the rest to know better as well.
welcome back Kate, and pooch pix would be great:-)))
Welcome back Kate. I hope you have a good rest before wading in, though you were missed.
