    2. The new way to win politically is through censorship. The US 2016 election caused a change in the way political parties will strategize to win power.
      All the standard policies of the DNC did not work against Trump, even in the Primaries no one expected him to end up the candidate for the Republicans. The Deplorables in the USA networked and used the power of the internet to get Trump elected. They were beneath the surface and not seen by the standard campaign political experts.
      All of them called it wrong. The Republican experts were wrong and the Democratic experts were wrong. Trump sensed this great untapped group that were fed up with the Democratic establishment and the Republican establishment. And he connected.
      This is why both parties are working with the tech giants in social media to censor the Deplorable Class of people or the Populists that have risen as a group in every country in the west. The USA, France, England and Canada. This is why there have been so many surprises in recent elections.
      The Deplorables/Populists have hijacked the system using the networking of the internet to push their agenda. This is why the traditional political parties have backed the move to heavy censorship of the internet and what we can say on the internet. This is why the Liberals are using our tax dollars to first buy the traditional media. And are legislating to censor freedom of speech on the internet of blogs and social media. This is why they are going after archived news stories which was the dirt used by the Deplorables/Populists to put the anti politics Trump in power.
      He has been smashing both the left and the right in the USA. He has been attacking the establishment almost daily through Twitter etc. The Professional Political elite have to find a way to stifle this populist movement and they are going to do it with the help of the msm and the tech giants and censorship.
      And it is working. The msm has buried the scandal of Trudeau and the SNC-Lavalin crimes and the Liberals and Trudeau like a Turd has floated back to the surface. A turd will float. Citizens have very short memories and are easily brainwashed by the media, by the bought of msm not talking about Trudeau’s corruption the sheep have gone back to sleep. And will re elect him. Oh and don’t forget the mild timid Con opposition, Scheer quit publicly holding hands with Trudeau. But has been still meeting him in the closet.   10. Two comments on this thread mention Rt. Hon. Trudeau’s mumbling and stumbling over a press corps question, about the use of plastics in his happy household. One conservative commentator mentioned it was part of Trudeau’s “bad week”. The video cip, first put on social media by MP Michelle Rempel, circulated among the conservative blogs. But I wonder how many Canadians have really seen the video clip.

    So I checked the respective “politics” web pages of CBC News and the Globe and Mail. Both corrupt news organizations, exceedingly pro-Liberal as they are, censored the story. Both are the largest nationwide news groups going, corrupt as they are, with a fairly large readership.

    The reason for this post is, if the leading news-web sites censored this newsworthy item, what will the news coverage be like during the fall election? Just asking.

But I am very troubled by it. I haven’t read the news articles, like I should, about the Liberals’ many-faceted approach, but like you say it is bad.

      2. To a large extent censorship in Canadian MSM has existed for decades. I agree that progressives are amping up their efforts. What to do? Yes, Harper had the tools and did not use them. Even if Scheer had the will any deviance from accepted messaging garners quick reaction and in Scheer’s mind lost votes.

        Bernier has a easier path as he vocalizes topics most conservatives can agree with. If Bernier was leader of the CPC would he carry on the same discussions? IMHO true conservative and even libertarian thought has to have a message that voters can understand and agree with. Achieving that is almost impossible and will take years.

        The conservative movement has stood aside for decades as the left patiently gained control of the education system, media and the government sector. These are the reasons why Canada will fail as a nation. IMHO the only way the process can be reversed is an economic collapse that generates a introspective process by the citizens of their values. Unfortunately we have seen that this process can be taken over or manipulated by forces who use disruption to benefit themselves or other countries. I do believe that the Russians and Chinese and their agents are actively working towards this collapse.

    Canada has pledged to reduce CO2 emissions by 30% relative to 2005. CO2 emissions have been over 700 megatonnes since 1999 only briefly dipping below that level during the recession of 2009. Ontario switched from coal to nat gas for a one time savings of CO2 without reducing energy use. Coal emits twice the amount of CO2 that nat gas does. Future reductions in CO2 will have to come from future reductions in energy use and this will occur through an escalating and punishing carbon tax. There is no other way to reduce CO2 than to make energy too expensive to use. I hope Canada is ready.

    1. And the only way the energy use is reduced by taxation is the same whether it is a carbon tax or a GST or an income tax hike. It is the recessionary pressure and economic loss that leads to the reduction. Now how are we going to reduce energy use while tripling the population according to the Trudeau plan when we use 1/3 of our energy just to keep from freezing to death.

      What was that Max was saying about all the aspects of government policy having to work together for the national interest.

  13. Chretien’s former Environment Minister writes letter to PM Trudeau and Liberal Cabinet to argue against building the TransMountain Pipeline. He says their is no economic reason for the taxpayer to proceed with construction as no one wants Alberta Oil anyway. Well in my opinion there is no economic reason that Alberta taxpayers are subsidizing the ROC at 20-25B a year. So end all transfers from Alberta to Ottawa.

    A year or so ago, the CBC promoted an 9-year-old boy whose mother pushed him into sexually-inappropriate cross-dressing/dancing at gay-oriented shows. “Lactacia” is his stage name, as I recall. I put in a complaint to the CBC Ombudsman last year, but she refused to process it. So again the CBC is hard at it. Your tax dollars at work.

  19. The Australian’s have started shipping LNG from their new off shore facility. They haven’t disclosed who the buyer is but it’s not difficult to imagine.

    Canada has squandered its chance to participate in this growing market in fact our natural gas market is struggling and it’s future is in doubt.

    1. That was the intention. Delay Canada’s entry into the LNG market long enough for other countries to establish the infrastructure. Then the incentive to invest in new infrastructure is lost. Slowly the prices creep up. Canada’s natural gas assets remain stranded.

      One problem with Alberta is if it was allowed to grow at its full potential it would attract millions of Canadians and upset the balance of power.

    To give Scheer credit, he is exposing PM Personal Day when the latter shows up for work.
