CBS2/KCAL9 has obtained an OSHA report citing the LAPD for an unclean work area. The report cited, among other things, “the presence of rats/rodents, fleas, roaches, flies gnats, mosquitoes and grasshoppers” at the LAPD Central Community Police Station.
This isn’t the first time rats have infested a city building.

You know, I think that San Andreas has heard Kate’s prayers, and responded appropriately. I left nine years ago (I used to post here as Silicon Valley Jim), and I’ve been much happier since I did.
I left California, partly involuntarily for work, decades ago. Best decision I ever made. Except for several years in St. Louis, a Democrat machine town/sh!thole (all day to renew driver’s license, license car, etc.), life in Nebraska and now Iowa has been idyllic. We’re looking at a second home in points south, but it’s so nice here we keep procrastinating. Don’t tell anybody. We already have Berkeley in the Cornfields, Des Moines, and the Quad Cities, sullied by proximity to Illinois to contend with. And Omaha is rapidly turning purple. We don’t need to import more leftists.

Bubonic plague starts slow, because at the beginning it is transmitted by flea -bites-. They have to bite you, and they have to be the right kind of fleas which carry the plague bacilli. The number of cases starts small, because in our society people don’t come in contact with fleas much.
But, those fleas are endemic to the Southwest desert. There is a case or two of plague every year in Flagstaff AZ. Usually pet owners, whose dog picked up fleas on a trip to the desert.
Where it gets interesting is when humans are forced into close proximity to rodents. The disease is transmitted two ways, one is injection, by flea bite or a wound. The other way is by droplet or mist, this is the pneumonic form and it doesn’t happen until a sufficient number of infected animals and humans are around to make the droplets by coughing.
It starts slow, and then goes along for a while with nothing interesting happening, and then it takes off and kills half of Europe in the 13th century. And as we know from our history lessons, once it starts it is very, very hard to stop.
By the way, typhus has already spread from the homeless population to the general population. That’s another killer plague that is very hard to get rid of once it sets in.

Anybody want to guess WHY there is 40 tons of garbage around every homeless encampment?
Anybody still think that twenty or thirty drug addicted crazy people can generate 40 tons of garbage in a week? Because that’s what is happening in LA right now. City moves in, moves ten truckloads of garbage, a week later they move ten more truckloads.
Did the crazy people bring all that?
No, they did not. Obviously, the local businesses, home owners and anybody else with a truck full of garbage came and dumped it there in the dead of night.
Why would they do that? BECAUSE GREEN POLICY. Because it is so expensive to dump garbage legally in LA County, they can’t afford it. They’ll go bankrupt. So they dump it -illegally- in a handy alleyway, where there’s a homeless tent to give a figleaf of coverage. Or they pay the homeless crazy people ten bucks to take it away to the alley.
That’s why. You make it too expensive for people to get their garbage picked up, they will leave it in the street.
This is not a funny situation as it can quickly get out of hand as society breaks down and spread. My maternal grandfather died of typhus in 1925 during the aftermath of the Russian revolution, civil war, and man-made famine. He came from a clean home, but the flea borne disease was everywhere and human contact was enough. A small train made up of rail cars of White Army wounded and medical staff was found in 1919 in the Rostov region with everyone dead from typhus.
If this gets any worse, people are going to have buy water after the water sources turn to blood and mark their doors to avoid the Angel of Death.
