    I love the harmonica in the hands of a player whether it’s in the hands of a cowboy playing Home on the Range, James Cotton preachin’ the blues or Toots Thielmans interpreting a jazz standard.

    This morning I was listening to Toots and Stevie Wonder playing the jazz waltz Bluesette. They were at the Polar music awards and the sound is not great. If you like the harp you’ll forgive the sound (hey its live) and love the performance.

    1/ We learn today there are over 20 cases of late abortion in Qc even though the mother and baby are in good health.

    Doctors in the province don’t want to do them for ethical reasons, so the government pays for the mother to get the abortion in the US.

    Because of the legal void in Canada, you are allowed to get an abortion until the last trimester even without any reasonable motive.

    My personal view is that at this stage, when the baby is fully developed and viable, this amounts to infanticide.

    The PPC will not have any official position on this issue.

    But when journalists asked me about it last week in Quebec and I said I would allow any MP to present a private member’s bill and have a debate, I was attacked by all the talking heads in the province.

    Do they all believe that these murders are morally defensible?

    A majority of Canadians accept abortion in the first months of pregnancy but want legal limits in the third trimester.

    The issue is not settled. And there are no taboo topics in the PPC.
