First They Came For The Harvard Professors

… and I did not speak up.

Harvard said on Saturday that a law professor who is representing Harvey Weinstein would not continue as faculty dean of an undergraduate house after his term ends on June 30, bowing to months of pressure from students.

The professor, Ronald S. Sullivan Jr., and his wife, Stephanie Robinson, who is a lecturer at the law school, have been the faculty deans of Winthrop House, one of Harvard’s residential houses for undergraduate students, since 2009. They were the first African-American faculty deans in Harvard’s history.

But when Mr. Sullivan joined the defense team of Mr. Weinstein, the Hollywood producer, in January, many students expressed dismay, saying that his decision to represent a person accused of abusing women disqualified Mr. Sullivan from serving in a role of support and mentorship to students. Mr. Weinstein is scheduled to go to trial in June in Manhattan on rape and related charges.

As the protests continued, with graffiti aimed at Mr. Sullivan appearing on a university building, Harvard administrators said they would conduct what they called a climate review of Winthrop House. In recent weeks, tensions have escalated, with a student sit-in and a lawsuit sparked by a clash between one of the protest leaders and two Winthrop House staff members who were seen as supporting Mr. Sullivan.

Because Harvard professors are finally reaping some of the left wing totalitarian whirlwind they’ve been sowing for the past 20 years.

  1. …And I gave them a bottle of water and loaded them into the box car.

They have made it clear that their tribes and victim groups are all that matters. I am not part of their tribe.

  2. Black couple in disbelief after Harvard tosses them out … normally that would spark outrage.

    1. I wonder just who the current crop of idiots at Harvard would deign to defend in a court of law?

  3. Times have changed since Alan Dershowitz successfully appealed the conviction of Claus von Bülow in 1982 for the attempted murder of his wife, Sunny.

  4. The prof mustn’t have taught that whole innocent until proven guilty thang.

    1. That’s not the leftist way. Nor any of those other inconvenient rights.

  5. meh….the downward spiral of their insanity. And a Black Couple to boot. wow.!

I wonder how long it will be before we see “Umerziehung’ centres.? 21st Century Kamps for our collective re-education. ie; A supermax with a school..??

    You know its coming right.?

    1. Hey, Harvard Law’s second and third persons of color have made the news. They’re Harvard’s first victims of climate change.

  6. These people are at Harvard so I am assume they don’t worry about making a living. When I studied law I laboured under the outdated notion that it’s best to learn as much as you can from as many as you can, and you should pay particular attention to those you disagree with so you can learn to defeat their arguments.
That approach, strange as it seems now, was obvious and never questioned.

    1. “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.” – Sun Tzu

  7. Kinda reminds me of “Lord of the Flies”. We are being ruled by mindless children…figuratively and literally.

Can’t wait to see this “civilization” in 20 years.

  8. The older I get, the more those old proverbs I heard all my life seem to bear out as true.

“Reaping what you sow” sure accurately predicted the multiple levels of internal conflict currently fracturing the preening victim-industry left. The saying “hoisted with their own petard” sounds abundantly apt here, too. These professors helped create these little monsters and they are ignorant fools for thinking they could never turn on their masters.

To me, this is the inevitable result of that typically dishonest and misdirecting ploy of the left, scream DIVERSITY REIGNS SUPREME in everyone’s face while you are actually working behind their backs to KILL ANY MEANINGFUL DIVERSITY.

    1. Incorrect. The mistake of the Harvard professors, is thinking they were the masters to begin with. The intellectual dishonesty they teach, makes whomever can conjure the largest mob the quickest, the master.

THAT is why, it is so important to immediately dismiss their mobs, mock them, dehumanize, do not engage in conversation.

  9. Heh …

Like nobody told them that they will be the first to go.
So far they, the cadres, attack those who have apparently the right ideas of things.
Happened to Peterson, the cadres were in less advanced stage of washed brain.
Seems they are getting better at it after sufficient indoctrination from the Ministry of Truth.

The “academia” is in late early stages of self-destruction.

Now they will come up with a Lysenko or Pavlov to make them into all knowing, all seeing, all everything, geniuses with nothing but hot air.

Not that one would care, they made their bed, they may not sleep in it.

    1. That is the plan. In their brainwashed minds the old liberal democratic society must be destroyed and replaced with a Marxist utopia.

      Many great comments above.

Mao’s Red Guard and the Soviet Komsomol comes to mind.

      Chickens coming home to roost.

  10. The moment when Progressive Liberal professors -finally- understand that SJWs are Fascists. Their indoctrination campaign has finally reached its natural end: Brown Shirts breaking windows and beating people in the streets.

The cherry on top of all this is the professor, Ronald S. Sullivan Jr., and his wife, Stephanie Robinson, are black:

“The professor, Ronald S. Sullivan Jr., and his wife, Stephanie Robinson, who is a lecturer at the law school, have been the faculty deans of Winthrop House, one of Harvard’s residential houses for undergraduate students, since 2009. They were the first African-American faculty deans in Harvard’s history.”

So Harvard is -firing- the first two faculty deans in Harvard history for no cause. No laws broken, no policies transgressed, just straight-up fired them because it was more convenient.

I predict Mr. Sullivan and Mrs. Robinson will become very wealthy from the coming slam-dunk lawsuit.

  11. You can never tell about the victim hierarchy.
Which victim group is superior the other ones,
Apparently they, themselves are in disarray about their status.

  12. Unfortunately sometimes the only way to solve a problem is to let it self-implode all on its own.

  13. Past 20 years?

Haven’t all the most evil people in the world made the pilgrimage to Harvard since they laid the first cornerstone?

Going to Harvard is the real Hajj. For evil people.
    Zuckerberg
    Obama
    Warren
    Hitler
    Pol Pot
    Mao
    Stalin
    Idi Amin
    Jeffrey Dahmer
    Joseph Goebbels
    Heinrich Himmler

Haven’t they all gone to Harvard?

  14. There are no actual consequences, here, just embarrassment. The Robinsons remain on the Harvard faculty.

Teaching isn’t how Robinson makes his money anyway. He has made a career getting thugs and terrorists off the hook and demanding policemen be punished for doing their jobs. He has probably never taken the case of a truly innocent man in his life.

Get back to me when he actually answers for any of that. Disbarment would be a start if his fellow lawyers actually cared. Given how many law profs jumped to his defense, it’s a fair bet they don’t. Consequences are for people without law degrees.

  15. “Sentence first, verdict later” said the Red Queen

Unfortunately higher education has become overrun by feeble minded authoritarians. Yet, we are still expected to obediently defer to people with credentials from such institutions. Frankly, a homeless tweaker has a better grasp of reality. At least a tweaker understands that there’s biological differences between men and women, the importance of due process (from frequent arrests) and probably even the importance of free speech.

The sooner society realizes that graduates from elite higher educational institutions resemble the mental instability of inbred royalty more than classical and enlightenment philosophers…the sooner we can completly disregard their nonsense and bafflegab that is causing far too many problems.

  16. Sounds like a “final straw” situation:
Current, Former Winthrop Affiliates Say Faculty Deans Created a Toxic Environment Stretching Back Years
Since 2016, more than a dozen Winthrop tutors, students, and staff have brought concerns about Sullivan and Robinson to College administrators in meetings, emails, and reports. Many of them said they believe administrators failed to protect them.
    https://www.thecrimson.com/article/2019/5/10/winthrop-climate/

Background to this is the “in loco parentis” aspect of American Universities: many require incoming students to live on campus, often with bizarre results. Recall the complaint from Ted Cruz’s roommate that he spent much of this time masturbating.
    And with multi-gender dorms ……
    From the Crimson article:
// Harvard charges faculty deans with creating a home for students beyond that of a dorm. For three out of their four years at the College, most students eat, sleep, and socialize in their house. “The Houses serve as the foundation for the undergraduate experience at Harvard College,” according to the Dean of Students Office’s website.
But seven current and former Winthrop staff, including tutors, told The Crimson in interviews conducted over the past three months that they experienced a culture of fear while they worked or lived in the House — fear of being chastised in front of their colleagues, fear of damage to their career prospects, and fear of being fired.
This account is based on interviews with 14 people with direct knowledge of the culture of Winthrop House. Some spoke on the condition of anonymity because they fear retaliation from Sullivan and Robinson, both of whom are major figures in the legal profession. //

    1. And as usual you’re posting irrelevant smokescreen. They weren’t fired for being SJW assholes. They got fired because other SJWs wanted their scalp for PC reasons. Nothing to do with any “final straw.”

      1. // They weren’t fired for & They got fired because //
I’ll just stay with the Harvard Crimson report.

        1. Oh so you’re going to take those covering for the SJW lynch mob at their word?

          1. I see that replies have run out [below]
To the extent that SJW is more than a figment of overheated imaginations & a replacement for “do gooder”, it has approximeatly this meaning:
// “Social Justice Warrior” (abbreviated “SJW”[note 1]) is a term used to refer to liberals, progressives, feminists, and supporters of political correctness. The term is an appropriated one, generally used by the right wing as a negative snarl word, despite originally having positive connotations. It is commonly used by far right reactionaries as a toxic ad hominem which almost certainly raises a red flag that a pointless nonconstructive discussion will follow. //
            That last bit nails it.

          2. Bitch please, you don’t get to control the narrative… especially after you lost on merit.

        2. They aren’t Social Justice Warriors; they are privileged kids who are ensconced in what amounts to a total institution
// For three out of their four years at the College, most students eat, sleep, and socialize in their house. “The Houses serve as the foundation for the undergraduate experience //
Harvard is a great university, but not because of its 4000-per-year cohorts of undergraduates. The plurality end up in finance.
          Think Jared kushner

          1. Just how detached from reality are you? SJWs more often than not are “privileged” kids of upper middle class liberals. You should know, they are your friends.

            So students live at residence?
            Shocking! That changes everything.

No it does not actually. None of it matters. What matters in the end is that SJWs threw a temper tantrum and the feckless administration capitulated to them. After the Larry Summers debacle it was entirely predictable.

And wtf are you mumbling about with the 4K cohort/plurality/finance bit? Are you trying to sound learned by citing more irrelevant smokescreen?

          2. diz:
            “They aren’t Social Justice Warriors”
well they sure as shyt took a page out of the SJW strategy manual.

‘a rose by any other name’ it really amazes me how well Wm Shakespeare knew humahn nature inside and out.
he even mentioned lawyers. google it. “first let’s kill all the . . . .”

  17. They came for Prof. Jordan Peterson for less – rewatch frightening attack at Queen’s. The Lord blessed and has multiplied his influence a thousand fold. Having found my 6th grgrmo was the 1st cousin of John Adams, I refer to his experience back before the leftists/alphabet community took over academia.
His detractors should know that by undertaking to represent such a client, Sullivan is participating in a tradition older than the nation itself. The British soldiers who opened fire on a crowd of Bostonians in 1770, killing five, were among the most reviled men in the 13 colonies. Harvard alumnus John Adams, a patriot with aspirations for political office, agreed to defend them at trial, even though he knew that he was risking not only his reputation, but the safety of his family, because aggrieved Bostonians felt that their safety was implicated.
“In the Evening I expressed to Mrs. Adams all my Apprehensions: That excellent Lady, who has always encouraged me, burst into a flood of Tears, but said she was very sensible of all the Danger to her and to our Children as well as to me, but she thought I had done as I ought, she was very willing to share in all that was to come and place her trust in Providence,” he later wrote. Though he went on to sign the Declaration of Independence, and serve as vice president and president of the United States, he counted bolstering the principle that even people accused of heinous crimes deserve a vigorous defense as “one of the most gallant, generous, manly and disinterested Actions of my whole Life, and one of the best Pieces of Service I ever rendered my Country.”

  18. And now shame on YOU for stereotyping – “Harvard professors” – just like some of the students. You have no idea what this individual is like, what he believes, how he lives – you simply dismiss him as a category.

    1. When one choses to work in a brothel they should not be offended when people think they’re a whore.

  19. The Neo-Marxist elitists forget, like all the past useful idiots, they are first ones to face judge, jury and executioner.
Their idealism in the face of grinding, jackboot authoritarianism becomes very old, and very inconvenient, very quickly.
You see once the aims of the revolution are met, we can all be equally free, of our property and liberty and safety.
Luckily, the neo regents and philosopher kings are safely ensconced in the gated palaces to count our money for us.
They are safe and that’s all that matters. How could a serf possibly see the big picture – and its 5 year plans – to fruition?
We will all be free to say what they think and act in their interests. As Cat Stevens opined before he went Islamist:

“And if I ever lose my mouth, all my teeth, north and south, Yes if I ever lose my mouth, Oh if I won’t have to talk…”

The end of rifle butt serves that sentiment well, or the heel of a boot, or the abuse and slow death of a gulag.

When rule of law, decency and individual freedom are impediments to the state, as we see now, totalitarianism draws near.

  20. meh.
at least blacks in high places are getting equal treatment now.
