Locally, we have beggars in the streets of downtown, something not allowed before the Supremes were allowed to become deities by abuse of the Charter. Some of the beggars, have their life of self-destruction on display to the extent, they should be in palliative care homes. But someone in gov’t. wheels them out into
the downtown street so they can beg for drug money. For the most pathetic cases, I’m guessing the money is used to finance someone else’s fix.
The drug dealers and gangsters in “uniform” walk with the swagger of those who run the streets.
The fierce winters keep the numbers much smaller than San Francisco, the stench of a decaying civilization is visible and audible as much as olfactory.
California will, at some point, become a ward of the U.S. federal government. If not turned around.
Likely the same fate awaits Canada, or at least, the sections of it, that the U.S. gov’t. would judge to be worth saving.
Well, the city is ruled over by “Demokrats”.
As anyone that wants to know, knows, the cities run by the “Demokrats” are going down.
Don’t know if it is by design or just collateral damage that this happens.
Have a theory, the practice of it was used in the middle of 20 century right after the war in the socialist countries run by communists. You need to know that all of the countries were running free enterprise before the war except the heroic people of the Soviet Union. All of the countries had normal democratic traditions, had industries were well off, relatively speaking.
Soviet Union skipped the industrial part and went from agrarian, serfs like if not actually into building socialist paradise. There was no tradition of democracy.
The practice run as follows:
They made it impossible to run free enterprise, they taxed them out of existence. The working people were losing jobs, look, just check with the happenings in Venezuela, what can one say.
The next step is takeover by the soft-spoken tyrannical dictator and his helpers. Then the trials will start and people will die. The first to go will be the helpers, the dictator could get caught in the cleansing if he loses control.
After all the mayhem is done, people will gladly accept a tyrant that will stop the pandemonium, not worrying what’s gonna happen next.
What will happen next will be another round of tyrannical decline until people are so much pushed against the wall that there is nowhere to go but fight. Perhaps a leader will rise to lead it.
Then the whole cycle of human events starts all over again. Rebuilding of human soul to greater heights than ever before.
It happened over and over in history and will happen again even if nobody believes it.
It is a spectacle to watch the “Demokrats” circus in the US congress, the actions of SJW, the BLM, the fascists of “antifa”, the assault and breach of the borders without a shot fired, the invasion of poor people and scoundrels from everywhere, the decline of the cities, the nihilism of the homeless and their apologists.
The decline is on, it is rapidly speeding up, the only question is how long it will take since the north America is so rich.
It’s “sweet saint of Andreas”.

“Saint of San” seems redundant to me too.
From some dictionary: San Andreas is an archaic variation of the Spanish language San Andrés (Saint Andrew, the apostle)
But then: “O, Sweet Saint Andrew” doesn’t really convey the hope for an earth shattering disaster of biblical proportions ? Does it ?
So I’ll defer to Kate’s wordsmithing skills.
Kate is usually 18-24 months ahead of all of us. I took Saint of San Andreas to be the Saint of the San Andreas Fault that, if activated, would wipe a lot of fools away. This is why we pray to that deity. One day all that human poop in San Francisco and Los Angeles will be cleanly wiped away. Hence pedantic to a fault.

So long as NOBODY ever calls them … “The Sierras” … I will be happy. Sierra is PLURAL … like Deer is plural. Aiiieeeee … “Sierras” … makes my ears hurt.
Democrats and their fellow socialists are like Dracula, that is, make all kinds of promises of utopia but end up sucking the life out their victims.
We began … “caring” … for “The Homeless” decades-ago. The result: MORE Homeless than EVER before. Homeless “Services” in $ 100’s of Millions … has only attracted MORE Homeless. Guess what? Throwing taxpayer dollars out the back of a truck in the middle of a SF intersection … is bound to attract a crowd.
