  1. Proof that the “scientists” care more about “extinct” animals than human beings:
“Although the researchers are concerned that farmers may eventually make their own comeback”
“Concerned?!?” Yeah, heaven forbid that farmers may be able to make a living again, and threaten the kangaroo rats, or darter snails, or whatever.
If the farmers do eventually make their own comeback, they may farm in Baja rather than sneak across the border to live on U.S. welfare.

    1. Yes, I saw that too! You beat me to it.
A few years ago there was an accident that killed the parents of some kids in California. The same week a cougar (mountain lion) died in California leaving the cub motherless. There were fundraisers for both but the funds raised for the baby cougar far outstripped the money raised for the human orphans.
      Sad.

  2. Meanwhile here in California, we’re in a perpetual drought condition because the courageous state have to diverte farm water to save an invasive fish specie that no one is sure still existed. I only wish I’m joking.

    1. Yes, they pour tons of water into the Sacramento River and thus out to the ocean to reduce the salinity of the river, which may be good enough for farming, but may be too much for the darling little fishes, if there are any.
That is at the same time that we are asked to conserve water for the “perpetual drought”. Right now, the reservoirs are full, the Sierra snowpacks are at historical high with very wet snow, and we are still charged drought water rates.

  3. Rats, as anyone, other than “scientists”, knows, have the instinct to survive that made them what they are today.

Then you have rat “scientists” that seem to be surprised that rats can survive without “scientists” knowing anything about it. It could be that they, the “scientists” got well paid while looking for the poor rats.

Not to distract from the main theme, the climate change “scientists” have a lifetime jobs, much like the rat “scientists”, since the climate is a changing relentlessly on while they tell the politicians and the in people that they can stop it if they get enough cash, rather than actual real working scientists that work for the fossil energy.
