L- 50 minutes of a public lecture given in 2010. A quote from the comments section is the best description of the experience.

“…I can feel the thousands of years of wisdom pulsating in me now. I want to improve my situation so that I can transcend to where I want to be.”

  2. On Monday night Tucker Carlson and Mark Steyn of FNC discussed the ‘rubbish’ dumping by Canada on the Philippines. They didn’t mince words. Trudeau apparently promised the Philippines he would take care of the issue and remove the rubbish back in 2015. BACK IN 2015!! WHAT?

Mark said that this Canadian PM is still wearing kiddie diapers so removing the rubbish was beyond his comprehension.

A clip of the Canadian Ambassador, was shown on the show and he said a solution is being sought and the issue will be taken care of by the Canadian government very shortly. He seemed genuinely ashamed.

My question, why was that junk sent there in the first place? Our government has been very vague about this. Something stinks!
    What an embarrassment!

P.S. I read today that our wonderful recycling programmes are going bust. In some places they are changing the list of acceptable items for the precious Blue box. Items like glass jars and plastic clamshell containers will become items for the Black box. This will be coming to a theatre near you. Wait for it.

    1. My question is “who sent the garbage there in the first place?” Shouldn’t they deal with it? Why is Trudeau even involved with “garbage”? Probably answered my own question.

    2. Save all your recyclables and other unwanted trash up for a massive earth day trash burning event.
Anything connected to any government is always a massive bureaucratic boondoggle. The cities all fleece the taxpayer for huge ego projects that they think make them into super stars, in their own minds.
Solar panels on town offices, sustainability, recycle, inclusiveness, huge blathering conferences always with luncheons, and catered snacks for the participating hog troughers. Conferences that always end up at the same conclusion. We need more tax dollars.
And still they can not deal with their own garbage. Cities should be made to expropriate whole city blocks to bury their own garbage or burn their own garbage or shove their own garbage where the sun don’t shine.
Instead they demand Billions for public transit, build bicycle lanes and cause further traffic restrictions to force people to use LRT or light rail transit, that has become the home of druggers and violent punks and thugs.
Or they want to build huge sports edifices for multimillionaire sports gods. Like they did with the Sky Dome in Hawgtown, Toronto. Forced the taxpayer to build that play pen for 600M tax dollars, they just had to have it, they would all die if they did not have it, and then a few years later it was sold to private business for 50M dollars.
Those bastards should have all been dragged around main street by their balls, slowly by the taxpayers through every damn pothole they did not fix.
The waste of tax dollars is shocking. One summer locally they tore up all the downtown sidewalks they scammed money from some poor tax payers at some other level of government and put in park benches and special European style bricks that kept popping out and tripping people. The year before they just build all new nice concrete sidewalks. Now they cut them up and inserted bricks, beautification they said, more tax dollars wasted. They said the funds had to be spent or the money would be withdrawn. And always the compulsory sign informing the locals this project funded by this greasy bastard politician somewhere. Another favorite is tax payer funded travel. Your local bored planning department and always the Mayor and a few slithering councilors just have to go on a trip to some village in South America or Europe to see how sustainable their shit houses are, or help install a solar system and partner with shithole African villages etc. I say bring back the stock and pillory. And once a week throw one of these scoundrels and wastrel Liberal Lunatics into the stocks and dump the garbage on their heads until they have had enough. A piss pot full right in the face everyday. One of the worst things is the linking up of all the local Liberal Wastrels and Loons together with the http://www.fcm.ca Were they allocate a percentage of your local tax dollars for international aid programs. Your Local tax dollars that should have gone to deal with potholes and garbage is being spent on Foreign Aid programs. They love FCM, because it is also an alternate chance for more free food and conferences and stays in nice hotels on the local taxpayers dime. Another one the bastards love are retreats. Oh we have to study this problem so we are going on a retreat to Banff or Lake Louise for the weekend to discuss how to fix that pothole. Slithering Greasy Serpents. Swine. Parasitic Shizen Weasels. Lower than whale shit.

      1. “Cities should be made to expropriate whole city blocks to bury their own garbage or burn their own garbage.”

I agree. Pollution has not, in fact, been reduced—just moved to places where the stink of it doesn’t afflict our masters’ nostrils.

They are still perfectly happy to destroy once-proud farming villages with the fumes of pig shit from factory farms.

If cities were forced to dispose of or burn their trash within city limits, cities would be a small fraction of their current size—as would the garbage piles. That could only be a good thing.

      2. Watcher you say:

“Anything connected to any government is always a massive bureaucratic boondoggle. The cities all fleece the taxpayer for huge ego projects that they think make them into super stars, in their own minds.”

Thanks for that. Hope your blood pressure didn’t get too high. That’s how I felt and was thinking last night about the whole trash thing. We Canadians don’t like to air our dirty laundry as the saying goes, never mind having ourselves talked about on an American news network, like FNC. How humiliating!

WHEN you said these “ego” projects, I thought you meant to say ‘eco’ then realized both words fit. Good one!

How’s that for some ‘ trash’ talk today? Ha!

I celebrate jazz day everyday. Just got a new wifi radio. The trap shack never sounded so good!

        1. The Jazz Party was a 1:41:40 presentation.
Fast forward to 1:18 for fast start.

It was wonderful! It was mah-velous!
          Thanks to the Trapperdude!

          1. Lots of nice suggestions here. Jazz is about the individual and improvisation.

            Watcher:

Thanks for including Oscar. I saw OP a few times, even talked to him in a club in Edmonton once.

There was nobody like him. A few years ago I was walking with a friend of mine and she asked if I’d like to stop by the cemetery where Oscar is buried as it was close by. I’m not much into cemeteries but I jumped at the chance.

The Great Man lies beneath the conifers on a hill in Mississauga. It’s a small cemetery and Oscar has a modest headstone adorned with piano keys and notations. Oscar was humble. His stature as a musician never affected his demeanour. He never forgot where he came from.

See Oscar’s bio. There is a photo of the item that you mentioned with the engraved piano.

I see he was in fact born in Montreal. I sort of knew that but wasn’t too sure. My older neighbour here in Calgary who is from Montreal told me that she used to go see Peterson when he played at the Alberta Jazz Lounge in Montreal when she was a younger person. She was a great fan.

    1. Suggestions for Beto:

      a) commit to campaigning by electronic means. No more flying for Beto.

      b) commit to traveling by public transit in Texas. Or bicycle, or just walkers. No more cars for Beto.

      c) set his air conditioning at a comfortable 85F.

      d) set his house heating at 60F and wear sweaters.

      e) no more using a clothes dryer. Hang your clothes to dry.

      f) move into a home of 1000 ft2 or less

Beto should do all of these. To lead by example. After all he says it’s a crisis.

I don’t believe global warming is a human caused problem. But I hit all the climate “believers” with the above points each time they bring up climate change prevention. It’s time we all said the above to the “believers”.

  4. The world will end tomorrow so elect me as Prime Minister and by extension, savior .

Yes, that is where it is going, First, AOC at 12 years, now Beto at 10 years, so let’s cut out the middle man and go straight for the jugular with no time left and absolutely no evidence to prove any of the claims. And yet, people will still vote for both of their competing claims without thinking when one or both of them must be wrong as they can’t both be right. And we laugh at Chicken Little…

    1. Here in Canada, the National Post today has a rather tasteless cartoon about the Synagogue shooting.

  5. Our great leader Justin Trudeau is, or was, hosting Japanese Prime Minister Abe in Ottawa — and in this posted video:
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/1120513/Justin-Trudeau-Japan-Canada-Ottawa-Shinzo-Abe-China-Huawei

our beloved Liberal leader confuses China with Japan. Understandable, since people from that area of the world do have an oriental look about them. True, China has been hurting Canada in a number of ways in recent months, and Japan has not, but, oh well.

Note that the above post is from a foreign newspaper. A couple of conservative blogs in Canada ,and maybe one or two other foreign media, are reporting it. but that is it. Needless to say, the paid-and-bought-for media cartel will censor this. There is, after all, dinero negro (hush money) to be earned, to firm up revenues and bottom lines

    1. // Needless to say, the paid-and-bought-for media cartel will censor this. //

I saw this on the CBC news. [ He made the mistake twice. ]
But then, I don’t read the Express.

  6. They’re baaaaack!

    Hello Libranos!

Sure seems like Canada is just like the US when it comes to free passes and amenable government institutions.

The US has the Clintons and Canada has the Liberals.

    Who needs jails or courts.

We have the FBI,DOJ, Elections Canada, RCMP and all kinds of amenable government institutions and companies all ready to sign a confession.

One law for Clintons and Democrats and Trudeau and Liberals and SNC-Lavlin and a different law for you!

“A confidential document sent to the Liberal Party of Canada in 2016, and obtained by CBC/Radio-Canada, reveals how top officials at the embattled engineering firm SNC-Lavalin were named in a scheme to illegally influence Canadian elections.

The list of names, compiled in 2016 by federal investigators probing political party donations and leaked to CBC’s The Fifth Estate and Radio-Canada’s Enquête, raises new questions about an agreement by the Commissioner of Canada Elections not to prosecute the company.

The federal Liberals were sent the list in a letter marked “confidential” from the Commissioner of Canada Elections — the investigative branch of Elections Canada — on Aug. 5, 2016. But for nearly three years, neither Elections Canada nor the Liberal Party shared that information publicly.”

  7. Alphabet Inc. (Google) has just reported less-than-predicted 2001 Q1 earnings yesterday after market closing:
    https://www.thestreet.com/technology/google-slumps-on-a-revenue-miss-8-key-takeaways-14942026

and this morning the giant monopoly is trading down 8-9% decline. I try to watch only the two available business news channels (I avoid the left-lib news channels, for my sanity), and the business commentators are a buzz trying to figure out how and why Google missed. Mostly they are saying the tech giant is maturing, and will have trouble increasing revenues at the pace of previous years, going forward.

But this is certainly good news for conservatives, in a dreary year in U.S. politics. Google is busy, along with other tech giants, developing plans to throw the 2020 election to the Democrats. Currently they are booting conservatives from their search engines, and biasing Google news in favour of the left-liberal establishment. Many conservative news reports talk of the politically-correct suffocation within the company. Google is up to its eyeballs in controlling the nutty San Francisco city hall — and given that the city burghers must negotiate their way past homeless druggies and human excrement each day — it must take lots of billionaire cash to keep the corrupt city Democrats in power.

(Aside: by coincidence yesterday my wife and I traveled to our fishing cabin along the Miramichi river, to open it up for the spring, and because of a partial snow melt we were able to discover three galoops of human poo on our small lawn next to the river, along with associated rolls of toilet paper. My lovely wife and my step son were too angry to deal with this situation, so it was left to me to handle it. Fortunately yesterday morning in central New Brunswick was -6 C below — so everything was froze. The toilet paper went into tied-up white plastic bags, and then into a large tied-up Glad bag, for proper disposal. As for the human frozen poop, I used my pointed shovel to gig it up, and with strong heaves I tossed it into the Miramichi. No worries about human pollution. Our river is swollen to three times its size, lapping up three-fourths up our stone breakwater. Many news reports miss showing flood shots of this, but often flooded rivers are flowing VERY fast — and there is a humungous volume of water flowing passed our cottage. The human poop will decompose quickly).

The reason for the lengthy aside is to tell you about what it is like in San Francisco and other liberal cities on the Pacific shores. My encounter with frozen human poop, yesterday, is nothing like what the poor local urgers must go through. There, in hotter weather on public streets with many human galoops , it must be terrible. And Google and other high tech oligarchs are responsible for much of the mess in San Francisco — and they aim to transform the U.S. into San Francisco writ large.

One business commentator on the BNN-Bloomberg channel mentioned that Google and other billionaire tech companies should start paying investors dividends. Fat chance. Facebook, Netflix, Amazon, Google — the are rolling in billions of dollars — while shares trading at huge price, earnings ratios — that is if they have positive earnings — the billionaire oligarchs will never give out dividends. The oligarchs treat investors much like the local San Francisco citizenry. So I will never invest in U.S. or Canadian tech. My small portfolio — with many growth stocks — averages a 4.5 percent divided payout rate, all monthly. To heck with the oligarchs.

  8. China used to take our plastic to recycle but stopped doing that. That left lots of plastic going nowhere. People were being paid to get rid of it so they turned to illegal recycling in countries with weak laws.

  9. Liberals threaten that UCP better damn well not change emissions cap put in by NDP. Let me ask you this, why is there no emissions cap on the city of Toronto or Montreal, which emit far more CO2 and all other green house gas. Maybe it is time to shut down cities which are the real source of the problem. Oil Sands emit far less than either city. Alberta get the hell out of the Criminal Cabal called Canada. The Bastard Child of Trudeau emits more CO2 than most small cities himself running around doling out tax dollars and favors for the upcoming election. Talk about corruption and rigging elections. https://calgaryherald.com/opinion/columnists/varcoe-liberals-threat-over-emissions-cap-triggers-oilsands-unease

    1. https://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/viola-desmond

      […] Viola Desmond’s Trial
In the morning, Viola Desmond was brought to court and charged with attempting to defraud the provincial government based on her alleged refusal to pay a one cent amusement tax (i.e., the difference in tax between upstairs and downstairs ticket prices). Even though she had indicated when she was confronted at the theatre that she was willing to pay the difference between the two ticket prices and that her offer had been refused, the judge chose to fine her $26. Six of those dollars were awarded to the manager of the Roseland Theatre, who was listed in the court proceedings as prosecutor. Throughout the trial, Desmond was not provided with legal representation or informed that she was entitled to any. Magistrate Roderick MacKay was the only legal official in the court; no crown attorney was present.

At no point in the proceedings was the issue of race mentioned. //

  10. Poor Old Inbred Brits. Now the greasy Liberals/Cons/Commies are demanding a Ban on knives because the gun control ban worked so good. And they are talking all knives even kitchen knives. Wait until the Political Bastards in Canada get on to this idea. All tax payer supplied armed security for all Politicians needs to be ended. No RCMP for the Groper, or any other greasy turd of a politicians at all levels. They are so stupid and plentiful they do not require protection. https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-04-29/gun-ban-not-working-politicians-britain-now-want-ban-knives-nationwide

  11. “Conservatives believe that climate change is a global problem requiring a global solution, as laid out in the Paris accord. We will present a real environmental plan that will lower emissions, unlike the Liberals and their carbon tax.”

    Globalists.

They’re still polling to find the right buzzwords that will fool as many voters as possible.

Don’t forget that Scheer’s first act as CPC leader was to whip a vote of all his MPs in favour of Paris. (I left the HoC to avoid a confrontation with my new leader.)

“We will present a real environmental plan that will lower emissions, unlike the Liberals and their carbon tax.” (CPC)

They think the Liberals don’t go far enough.

They think McKenna is too moderate.

Their plan to lower emissions will be even more radical!

  13. The proles used to tire of government after 2 or 3 terms. That pace has accelerated with social media. Now it’s before the term is up.

Bongo has burned through his sunny ways good will. He has alienated his base and demonstrated gross incompetence. People look at him and see a fool.

He may yet win again but it will not be an easy path to victory.

  14. Oh Noooo! The media is reporting that the Canadian economy is contracting. Its a good thing we have all those green energy jobs. Meanwhile the U.S. economy is roaring along.

  15. Pipeline whore Ed Whittingham has resigned from the energy board red Rachael appointed him to. “I’m for responsible energy development.” Sure you are Ed.

Ed like Red is disingenuous. Notley lost because of her duplicity. When she was elected Albertans genuinely wanted to like her and give her a chance. She was non threatening, soft spoken, well known and very clever.

Rachael talked a good game but her actions set off Albertans radar. She appoint people top her transition team who were know critics of the Province. Her appointment of a retired grade 2 teacher as Minister of Energy set off alarm bells. Prior to becoming energy minister Marg Mcquaig-Boyd’s connection to the oil industry extended to her familiarity with filling her vehicle at the pump.

Tzeporah Berman was a fatal error. Albertans were well familiar with her and knew her as an enemy of the Province.
Throughout this Red assured us that everything was fine. She had things under control. Relax – it’s all going to be ok.

Berman went on to demonstrate who and what she was to the point that Notley ended up firing here. This did not go unnoticed by the voters.

Probably her most foolish unforced error was flanging up with trudeau. Albertans have not forgotten the name trudeau even though the libranos made some headway into the Province in 2015. It was a risky move seeking ‘social license’ and it totally backfired. She imposed a carbon tax to appease trudeau in exchange for pipeline co- operation. Predictably the move blew up in her face as trudeau backed out of his end of the deal and threw Notley under the bus.

Undeterred Notley carried on with her ideologically driven agenda and appoint Ed Whittingham as an energy advisor. Albertans saw right through this. They knew Whittingham as a enemy.

So, Notley sabotaged herself. She had the support of the people. They wanted to give her a chance but she couldn’t bring herself to deliver. In the end all she had was Jason Kenney to run on. She had to constantly point out Kenney’s career (even tho she painted him negatively) as apposed to bragging up the ndp record. She had no record to defend.

She told Albertans one thing but constantly did the opposite. She lost the trust of the people and it’s entirely her own fault.

    1. https://edmontonjournal.com/news/politics/jason-kenney-to-appoint-new-cabinet-at-swearing-in-ceremony

First• Congratulations to Jason Kenney and Alberta’s new Cabinet. See link to learn who got the mandate to clean up the NDP fiasco.
      Way to go ALBERTANS.
Good luck Jason and the New Team.

Second• Eat your Heart out NDP has- beens. You really know how to blank- up! Just ride off into the sunset yonder and look for the Ottawa Liberals and have them ride side saddle outta town with ya!

Third• Albertatrapper, thanks for the excellent synopsis and analysis of the almost 4 years of the NDP Non-Government. Our nightmare began May 24,2015 and ended today.

Lastly• If I may, with all due respect, reading your summary reminded me of what it’s like to listen to a good hockey game, no wasted words and a good description of the action. All very condensed and precise. Kudos, Sir!

      1. abtrapper, nice summary.

The Notley Nightmare is over. But the recovery from the Ceci Catastrophe will take a lot longer than we imagine.

I think when the new government looks at the books they are going to be stunned.

        1. Ceci was, by far, the worst provincial finance minister in living memory, so the NDP leaving Alberta in an economic mess should come as no surprise.

Then again, that’s what Dippers always do, isn’t it?

          1. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Ceci

He previously was a member of the Calgary City Council. I recall seeing him on the local news from time to time commenting on something or other. There is nothing in his known professional background that would qualify him to be Minister of Finance.

  16. If one offered investors a fat tail put option that never decays or expires, costs about -1% pa to carry, has no counter party risk & no chance of ever becoming worthless, there would be a line out the door. But when one explains that this option is physical gold… no interest.

  18. So Kevin Chan is a key person at Facebook tasked with banning “hate”. He was interviewed on TVO the Agenda last night. I was not aware of Chan’s connections to the Liberal Party. The comments are very revealing and just another indication of the political corruption and cronyism that exists in our country. Faith Goldy is an early victim of their anti-democratic agenda. Who is next? Don’t bother with the video unless the topic is of interest, but check the comments.

I imagine Goebbels student the Wee Groper will want this implemented in Canada.
