Now I fully understand what motivated both my grandfathers.to leave their beautiful homeland, their sunny towns and great education opportunities, decent jobs and families, to sign up to fight against the Nazi evil.
I used to think it was wrong when people used to shoot up abortion doctors. Now, I am not quite so sure. Is it wrong? Help me understand why it is wrong to shoot up this evil, but not wrong to shoot up Japanese medical experimentation camps in China in 1937? Surely worthy of debate, no?
How is it any different than foreign volunteers flying low over columns of Japanese “scientific” troops in a P-40, and straffing them?…
I mean, those medical camps were “lawfully” operated by the Japanese government, and had approval and funding for their activities, right?
I am becoming convinced that we in the West had no defacto “right” to wage war on the Axis, based on how we have begun to treat our own children…
We had the moral obligation based upon the cultural rules and beliefs of the time, but, to my generation’s lasting regret, those norms have been stripped away in favor of this callous, selfish creed that says that any life that interferes with mine must be killed (at either end of life or anytime in between).
But the defence at Nueremberg argued exactly that – that the Allies were imposing their cultural value systems on the soveriegn Germanic peoples (and similarly at the Tokyo trials). The West’s case was that these have always been crimes against humanity, that they were known by every sentient being to be crimes, and thus their guilt.
It is becoming clearer to me that the modern West is engaging in crimes against humanity on an industrial scale. There will be a reckoning. Hopefully, many will hang.
In the meantime, one can dream that once again brave, selfless heros will put aside the comforts of home, and once again volunteer to stand against tyranny, terror, criminality and oppression. Sigh, as one who fought against Communist tyranny and oppression in the Cold War, and who is now too old, the torch must pass to a new generation.

With regard to Translation 2 – did you catch the subtle “support” that the audience member at the microphone received from the other audience member (likely their friend) as she began to falter in her ability to respond? I see that as a key tell – it wasn’t about facts, it was about group membership. I also see the “supportive” hug as actually being emotional manipulation – to offer “love” with the implicit threat of removing it if/when a thought crime was committed by the object of her “affection”. It looks like love, but it’s pure evil.

Unplanned is a new movie about a pro choice woman working for Planned Parenthood. She has a dramatic turn around. True story. Movie is showing in the States. Hopefully, it will come to Canada, unless government censors interfere.

I am at my seasonal home in CA, so will definitely see this movie. During my lifetime, I have vacillated on my views re: abortion. I now think that Canada does need some laws, as I think provincial governments have been funding procedures with which many of us would decry. No statistics are kept or reported, so the public does not have a clue what is going on. We need to know. Initially, I think health care professionals were policing the non-legislation with care. Now, I think they may be committing crimes, as in the USA, where some babies who survive an abortion are killed and third-term abortions are available.
It can not just be pro-choice. Not any more. Any one who has had a child knows that they are very much a living person by at least 24 weeks.
Statistics are kept by all provinces except Quebec and are part of the public record. For ease of understanding search out the blog, Run with Life. Canada has well moved past abortion to infanticide.
As life begins at conception and human women are pregnant with human babies, for anyone to support abortion one would have to suspend reason, logic and pity.
If proper statistics were kept and made available to the public, I think even Canadians would hesitate to want to fund it (but not for the reasons anyone would think).
