With journalism having hit rock bottom since 2016, if not before, some might hope that “professional” journalists would have learned from the error of their ways and taken corrective action. Think again. The prominent NYU Journalism school has hired far left activist Talia Lavin to indoctrinate teach legions of new “journalists”, ensuring that their reporting will continue to be warped. Here’s one of the courses that Lavin will be running: Elective Reporting Topics: Reporting on the Far Right.
Thankfully some are shocked by the hiring of Lavin but it’s unfortunately too late.
Her entire course is predicated on the utterly discredited false news around Charlottesville and Trump’s “nice people.”
Start a course with false news for a course designed to uncover fake news. Here I’m a faker, see what they look like.
No wait, only the “far right” does that so needs to be reported on. She could start with herself; not wait not of the alt-right.
Remember when the left is wrong, or lies or intentionally propagates fake news, it’s OK, they are on a higher moral plane.
I’m sure Lenin, Stalin, Hitler and Mao, to name a few, thought they were morally right as they used bigotry to murder millions.
To the left, power for its own sake is moral. Dealing with rebuttals to their ideology or policy debates are apparently immoral.
Because they would cause them to lose the argument, and given that’s, well, immoral, it must be silenced by moral lies.
Ever notice how when these people talk about the “far right” or “alt right” they often just mean “right or conservative anything. I would be very interested in the curriculum for that course. Hope she talks about the phony statistics from ADL that are used to create hysteria around the growth of white nationalism.
This should surprise no one. The editing of “news” is standard procedure for “media” outlets and it stems from the book “Interpretative Reporting” by Curtis MacDougall in which it was said that the goal of journalism was not to accurately report the news, but to shape history. “Good journalism” must give the reader the “appropriate” context by which the “correct” opinions could be formed.
This was the birth of what we now call “advocacy journalism.” Idealist young journalism students lapped it up. Making history was going to be far more exciting than merely reporting facts. MacDougall’s philosophy now seems to be the accepted “norm” in every major journalism school in the country.
Curtis MacDougall was Illinois state supervisor of the heavily Communist Party-infiltrated Federal Writers Project from 1939 to 1942, going on to teach journalism in Northwestern University until his retirement in 1971.
So when you hear about the “unbiased” media, give some thought to that.

Journalism should not even be ranked as a profession anymore, because in reality they are State Organs and Propagandists. Anyway this article today by an Eminent Democratic Prof. with high qualifications. He found that the bias in search engines like Google cost the Republicans possibly 3 seats in the 2018 Midterms. How many seats did the Bought Paid for Canadian Propagandists at the CBC, CTV, Global on and on cost Harper in the last election. There should really be an investigation.
These people are tampering with elections and that is illegal. More reason’s why the Taxpayer should not be funding State Media or any other form of media or art. Canada Fake News 24/7/365 and not from the internet.

I’m sorry, but you have obviously been a victim of a scam. The last journalist graduated from a conservative university in 1971. That university has seen the error of it’s ways and has changed it’s name to the “People’s School of the Little Red Book of Mao.” The College of Journalism has been converted into a day care for people enrolled in what used to be called “journalism”. They have a course of study that leads to a degree in “Abolishment of the 1st Amendment” with a minor in “Load ’em all in Boxcars.”
I am 70 years old, but I won’t be going quietly into that good night.
