Butts Testimony Live

Sorry, I got distracted and forgot this joker was testifying this morning — live feed at CPAC.

POLLSPOTTING: Who do you believe more on the SNC-Lavalin affair? (CTV Ottawa)

Question round: Basically, his strategy is to call JWR a liar. And, can’t remember.

Random reactions from various Twitter feeds.

Update: I’ve been busy with work and life, so couldn’t pull a full round up. Suffice it to say that the op-eds will be flying tomorrow after Wenrick’s second round of sanctimony before the committee.

  1. Just had the “pleasure” of listening to the “non-partisan” clerk of the Privy Council. What an absolute slime ball. The guy is greasier than 10W-40. Smug liarberal bastard essentially calling JWR a liar. I ask you, I ask all of you…Qui Bono? Who benefits? How has JWR benefitted? She has lost her job, she has been smeared and called a liar. How has saying the things she has stated (and kept copious notes on) benefited her one iota.

How many shares of SNC does our illustrious Minister of Finance, Bill Moron own? How many shares of SNC does Le Dauphin own in his vast trust-fund (I am sure he has absolutely no frickin’ clue whatsoever but I am sure the trustees know) How much money has SNC given to the liarberal party over the years. How many shares of SNC do major players (owners of the liarberal party) in the liarberals own? i.e The Irvings, The Desmarais Family, The Beaudoin Family

Tell me, how will the liarberal party ever let JWR have any meaningful role in the party or, as some have speculated, to position herself as leader of the liarberal party. Do you honestly think they will choose anyone outside of La Belle Province as their leader let alone a Native woman from BC??? Are you kidding me

IF THE AVERAGE EASTERN, WELFARE TAKING IDIOT BELIEVES THE TESTIMONY OF THESE SCUMBAGS. ALBERTA AND SASKATCHEWAN MUST GO ALONE. AND MR. KENNEY, IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO HELP YOUR OWN PEOPLE, THEN GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY

  2. Regardless of what happens there is now two factions in the liberal party that are in opposition against each other.
Oh and by the way, this is a scandal involving two sides of a story and the two sides of this story are being told by liberals about liberals.

  3. Question via Pierre Poilievre, re: motion to recall JWR to re-BUTTS unsworn, unreliable, and tainted testimony.

Of what use is testimony which implicitly allows you to lie…? ie no repercussions to perjury.
So much for the “Justice Committee”…another circle the wagons tactic.
We’ll see if the motion to recall JWR survives the Justice Committee…
Meanwhile, the LPOC is mixing vats of whitewash, to ‘shape the testimony and number of witnesses’.

  4. NDP’s Angus had Wernick as red as an apple when he brought up what 5 former AG’s thought. F’n slap-head didn’t like being shown he was on the wrong end of the dummy stick.

  5. On Don Martin’s “Power of Play” a talking head said that he could see how JWR could’ve felt intimidated having Mickey Bully phoning her at home at night to advise her to comply with the government. I agree.
This, from the guy who is afraid of social media. Wernick the Wuss.

A bully always fears his own medicine. Wernick the Worm!

Things are definitely getting interesting …
Just announced Lisa Raitt : JWR WILL BE BACK TO SPEAK TO THE COMMITTEE. Ha!

  6. Great Leader Justin isn’t worried. He’s burning jet fuel up north tomorrow to apologize to Eskimos about TB or something. He must be running out of groups to apologize to by now.

  7. The Liberal committee members are openly obstructing the committee. What a farce.

But, they can get away with this obvious partisan sabotage to the process because there is no independent media in this country to hold them to account. Another farce.

These committee hacks are simply buying Trudeau, the Liberal Party and Canada’s MSM time to get their collective shit together on a feasible narrative to soothe the masses. I believe that Trudeau thinks he can still beat this…. and the arrogant little prick could be right.

  8. Butts said Twinkle Toes tried to PERSUADE her but never PRESSURED her at any time.
I don’t know about you if the CEO of the company I was working for tried to PERSUADE me on an issue, I would take that as a direct order.
    Nah, no pressure. ha!

  9. What is interesting to me is that the penny hasn’t quite dropped for the Liberals (I’m hoping it doesn’t until it’s all too late).

They seem to have gone into full Führerbunker mode without much real thought as to what they will actually gain from it all.

  10. Well I do agree with one of Butts;s points. Being contacted a dozen or so times over 4 months is hardly hounding or pressure.

I still think this is an internal pusch.

    1. Take a few weeks off for the holidays within that timeframe and it’s nearly a weekly conversation. If you’re a straight up and to the point kinda talker, you’d wonder what kind of learning disability the various players within the PMO suffered from when they keep taking a run at you after you’ve clearly stated your position. I’d lose my patience during the 2nd conversation, let alone the twelfth.

  11. If liberal media are wetting their beds in fear Justine might be harmed by Lavscam just think of the information that will come out via the witch hunt against a General who put his country first, instead of the liberal party?

  12. Butts said, “…nothing happened here beyond the normal operations of government.”

That is the crux of the problem. Corruption is so ingrained in Quebec that it is considered normal.

  13. This guy can only have resigned for one reason, that being a reasonable prediction that his boss was going to be forced to resign in the future, so a prudent move to get to the next paying position before all that hit the fan. Thus the committee should be asking what else he knows that would justify such a conclusion in his mind. I’m not sure that what has come out so far is a slam-dunk case for resignation, but if there are other matters even more serious? Can’t wait to hear what those might be.

    1. It would appear that the perps are well past SOS (Save Our Souls) and have moved on to true Canadian SOB (Save Our Bacon)!

    1. Most people shouting can max out at about 110 decibels. The pompous Mr. Macdonald isn’t any wiser than Mr. Trudeau. It’s a low bar.

  14. The highest ranking, civil servant in the Federal Government of Canada, advisor to a series of Prime Ministers.

The first thing, he does appearing before a Commons Committee, is claims victim status.
This because, he’s a survivor of mean tweets… There was no way to recover. He cremated his own credibility.

Am I the only one who thinks he resembles, Homer Simpson’s boss, Mr. Burns ?

  15. The libranos set the table to throw JWR under the bus. They now have their version of the ‘truth ‘ and are going to play hardball.

JWR gets trashed and is denied another chance for rebuttal.

Bongo wont sign her nomination papers. See ya later.

  16. And in another FU moment to the West Li’l Tater Head is going to address the nation at 8:00am Eastern time tomorrow, before most in Alberta and BC are out of bed. Gotta hand it to the schnoock he knows where the votes are.

  17. So let me see if I’ve got this straight:

The turncoat fag Brison said he was going to leave cabinet before he got run out in advance of his certain subpoena to testify at the Norman trial. And Gerry wants us to believe that they didn’t believe him. Give me a break. They threw a freakin’ party in celebration. Then they hatched a plan to move JWR to Indian Affairs because there was zero chance she’d move and they ass/u/med she would resign. But instead she threw them a curve by staying put. So they appointed a failed TV announcer to Indian Affairs and moved JWR to Vet Affairs.

This is the bunch of asshats that will be running the election in Oct. BRING IT ON!

  18. I heard Butts say “climate change” at least 3 times today during his testimony

  19. Understand Butts role, in the Kabuki dance. He is not under oath so will lie as it suits him, he will have convenient memory lapses as it suits him. He is the Liberal Party Flak Catcher. The Liberal Members of the Committee, Trudeau, his handlers, Butt, their lawyers and some of the Con Committee members have all rehearsed and strategized maybe even role played this whole event. It is just theatre to draw the fire off Trudeau and the Liberals. They are giving the Bought and Paid for Liberal media something to begin weaving their web of Propaganda.
Gain sympathy and plausible deniability, seed a little doubt, amongst the sheep. And reassure their flock of supporters. Take no note the fight has just begun.
I think Trudeau will get a pass from Canadians.
Canadians who would tolerate the 3 levels of government to control and herd them and tax them at the levels you see today in Canada would eat a plate of hot cat shit with a dirty spoon and ask for more please.
    You’all deserve what is coming.

  20. Off topic here but I’m going to stick it in anyway. When did all this BS start about recognizing the Aboriginal Lands upon which we stand or are meeting. We are being played for suckers swallowing this line and if it keeps up we’ll all be sorry for it. An advanced, stronger civilization overcame another, it has happened throughout history. I don’t see the Aboriginals thanking us for all the benefits that we have given them. While I’m at it this whole bilingual thing was a result of the English showing more compassion to the French-Canadians in 1759 than they had shown to the Scots after the battle of Culloden. That little faux pas has cost and is continuing to cost this country trillions of taxpayer dollars, for what?

Just a little ticked at my country and its leaders tonight!

  21. The lies in Committee by both don’t really matter. For the most part, they’ve already been found guilty in the court of public opinion.

  22. I wonder JWR feels about the view from under the bus?

After watching the hearing this evening my opinion of both Butts and Wernick is that they are lying scumbags who will say anything to save Trudeau’s hide.

  23. Gerald Butts’ resignation makes up for the resignation or dismissal of Nigel Wright in 2013 in the Mike Duffy affair.

Now let’s get out there and win the next election, it’s payback time.

  24. Jody was set up and the apparatchiks thought they had their escape route all mapped out, she was offered a ministry, Indigenous Services, which she turned down (I wonder why?), then demoted to Veterans Affairs, so Butts says she wasn’t a team player.

Let’s see, the Indigenous Services Minister and the time of the cabinet shuffle Jane Philpott, moved to Treasury Board when Scott Brison retired. She has also resigned. JWR was previously muzzled on the issue, but Butts let the cat out of the bag.

But Canadians believe Jody and now the natives are not amused, to coin a phrase. Will the dominoes keep falling?
