Donald J. Trump said Thursday that transgender people should be allowed to use whatever bathroom they feel most comfortable with — including at Trump Tower in New York.

Dipping into a contentious issue by taking a stand many Republicans oppose, Mr. Trump told a town-hall-style event, hosted by NBC’s “Today” show at Rockefeller Center in Manhattan, that when people go to the restroom, they should “use the bathroom they feel is appropriate.”

U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell, the highest-profile openly gay person in the Trump administration, is leading the effort, which kicks off Tuesday evening in Berlin. The U.S. embassy is flying in LGBT activists from across Europe for a strategy dinner to plan to push for decriminalization in places that still outlaw homosexuality — mostly concentrated in the Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean.

“It is concerning that, in the 21st century, some 70 countries continue to have laws that criminalize LGBTI status or conduct,” said a U.S. official involved in organizing the event.

    1. This is bad news. With so many NDP MP’s jumping their sinking ship, their mindless voters who consistently vote “Anybody but Conservative” will jump to the Libs. I know that takes a complete cognitive disconnect, but these are NDP voters.

    1. He will alert Canadians to “orchestrated disinformation campaigns” AKA the Liberal election platform.

  2. From the illustrious Sharyl Attkisson an unhinged never Trumper in Georgia refuses to conduct business with a polite bemused customer wearing Trump gear. The rage is uncontrollable. There exists no possible civilized means of discourse. because the leftist has taken leave of his senses. The clip is long enough to frighten anyone who believes people can place country above party. Never give up.

    1. “Manufacturing shrank by 0.7 per cent, its fourth contraction in five months. Construction, meanwhile, shrunk seven months in a row — the first time that has happened in almost three decades.”
No doubt Juthtin and the Liberals will blame Harper.

  3. The Toronto Star explains the Lavalin scandal. Heather Mallick in the Saturday Toronto Star explains that Canada should check its privilege. She lets us know that nobody in Canada cares about or talks about the Lavalin scandal, especially young people. Its just an inter office squabble. The former AG is not a team player and has always been trouble in cabinet. We should be more worried about how the U.S. is picking on poor China. And she reminds us to vote for Trudeau this Fall.

    1. “[Heather Malick] lets us know that nobody in Canada cares about or talks about the Lavalin scandal, especially young people.”

Nobody in Canada cares about or talks about wacky old Heather Mallick, especially young people.

  4. Toronto Sun reports on a black judge who threw out a charge because the officer might have been thinking racist thoughts. The officer who pulled over a man for talking on his cell phone, discovered the man had been drinking and charged him. But the black judge threw out the charge because the officer many have had racist thoughts, even though the officer seemed like a good person. Justice in Canada.

  5. It’s -27C in Calgary. Wind power generation is at 7% of it’s rated capacity. Solar at 0 (sun not up, but panels likely covered with snow).

Imagine what it will be like if we were all on renewable power? No natural gas, and every one has electric cars. We’ll all be trying to heat our homes and charge our vehicles. 🙁 What a time for brown outs.

Australia has brown outs and black outs, which they survive, but then they don’t have -20 or -30 temps.

Soon the left will turn this into gulag Alberta.

      1. Just be glad you don’t have to clear the snow off solar panels in order to heat your house. That’s in the Nutley climate action plan.

        1. Yes. Don’t have them. Don’t want them.
They’re garbage. But… I know you know that.

Some country. You might fall from your roof shoveling snow and die because of • gov policies. If you suffer broken limbs, pas de problemo….we’ve FREE health care.

          1. Yes I sort of figured you didn’t have solar panels. The only solar heating I use, is to open the window shades on all my south facing windows in the winter daylight. In summer the shades are partially closed.

by the way, if you fall whilst clearing snow off your panels, the NDP will charge you with not providing the appropriate worker protection to prevent the fall! 🙂 Plus you will find your worker’s compensation rates will go up. That’s right, once you start clearing snow off the panels you are working and will have to contribute to workers comp (sarc, sort of)

            stay warm today 🙂

          2. @ 1:06 pm Joe:
I have South exposure too and that is my ‘solar’, so called package.

I take a daily tablet of vitamin D3 and a big fat pink grapefruit in season, prices be damned!

            Thanks, stay warm, you too!
Stay warm, everyone in cold country!

    1. It’s -26 here in Edmonton. This is weather that can cause headaches for hams as cable can stiffen and become like dry spaghetti. It doesn’t take much to damage them under those conditions.

And, yes, it happened to me a few years ago. After that, I imposed my own weather rule. I won’t take my portable satellite rig outside if it’s colder than -10. I can’t afford to send equipment away for repair because of cold weather damage.

    1. So let the National Resources Defense Council use the New York Times as toilet paper. Now that would be a win win!

  6. From Russia With Love: Psalm 51

Psalm 51, so deeply repentant, is often sung in the Russian church during Great Lent. Here is perhaps the most calming, yet stirring, rendering of Psalm 51 in existence. It is performed by the world renown Stretensky monastery choir, based in Moscow.

I don’t care who you are, believer, atheist, or anything in between …. if you you are not moved by this rendition, then you don’t have a soul.

    The Burning Platform

    ◄ Psalm 51 ►
    King James 2000
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.
    Prayer For Mercy and Cleansing

1Have mercy upon me, O God, according to your lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of your tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
2Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
3For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
4Against you, you only, have I sinned, and done this evil in your sight: that you might be justified when you speak, and be blameless when you judge.
5Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.
6Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part you shall make me to know wisdom.
7Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which you have broken may rejoice.
9Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.
10Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11Cast me not away from your presence; and take not your holy Spirit from me.
12Restore unto me the joy of your salvation; and uphold me with your free spirit.
13Then will I teach transgressors your ways; and sinners shall be converted unto you.
14Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of your righteousness.
15O Lord, open my lips; and my mouth shall show forth your praise.
16For you desire not sacrifice; else would I give it: you delight not in burnt offering.
17The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
18Do good in your good pleasure unto Zion: build you the walls of Jerusalem.
19Then shall you be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon your altar.

  7. a chain saw, and an encounter with ont min of nat resources unionboy.

had a place in burlington in the 90s.
the neighbor had a friggin soft maple overhanging my driveway, bird crap and excessive shade on my lawn etc.
I advised him at some point the tree would get out of hand and he would be dealing with an 80 foot high weed.
I also pointed out where the branches met up with the beautiful red maple, they stopped growing, ie the weed was deforming the far more esthetic red maple.
I also pointed out I was entitled to and intended to crop all the overhanging branches I could reach to minimize the problem that HE allowed to continue to exist.
    and left it at that.
after 6 months, the idjit brit FINALLY agreed to allow me to take it down. so, comes the day, no wind, rain etc, chain saw gas, chain oil, sharpened the teeth, all is prepped and ready.

whereupon mr min natural resources unionboy shows up, parks in front of my place. I ask him if he could move the vehicle since I was not 100% certain if it would perhaps hit the hood or etc.
he balked. ‘Im busy’. well aint we all?

2 FCUKIN *minutes* of his precious ‘time’ to move his fcukin vehicle 100 feet up the quiet street, well out of range, for something I had patiently waited SIX FUCKIN MONTHS to do, but unionboy is ‘busy’.
oooook, be that way. you REALLY want that spot and ONLY that spot? you got it asshole!
so I pull my cavalier out of the driveway and park it 2 feet behind him.
then pull the missus taurus out of the garage and part *it* same distance in front of him,
blocking my driveway but so what eh?
fast forward 3-4 hours, I got a cop at the door because mr whiny unionboy took umbrage at MY parking spaces.
so naturally I explained this interesting configuration emphasizing the above facts, right in front of unionboy daring him to dispute my version.
    unionboy.

I had the last laugh however, this was during mike harris regime, the same mike harris who sacked hundreds of
    unionboy drones.

ha ha! had to click ALL the captcha boxes for the first time ever !!!

  8. when are Canadians going to wake up? Liberals should never be elected to government. They have a long history of screwing up the economy every time they are in power, and please no more P.M.’s from Quebec. It’s bad enough that we have to carry these parasites on our back but we don’t have to be stupid enough to elect one of them as our P.M.
