  1. Can you envision a situation where cops could be provided with an “override code” that tells your car to shut itself off? Would you be OK with that?

    1. Vote Democrat in the US an you’ll get that.

Turdeau will introduce that when he is re-elected. Plus a computer controlled max speed limit.

Millennials think it is a good idea.

      1. indeed.
exempting themselves naturally, that is the default position for the likes of pm groper.
it explains his admiration for communism, the ones with the traffic lanes exclusively for party brass and
        all the ‘more equal’ stuff.
we all need to read Animal Farm again for a refresher course.
Wm Shakespeare, Eric Blair (George Orwell), both brits, both hit the centre of the bullseye in their writings on humahn nature.

  2. In the future leaving your electric car with a low battery charge to reduce how far a thief can drive it. This will be mandated by the government as “safe storage”.

You can only have the minimum charge in the battery for a short trip, the rest of the magazine err… battery must be kept empty to reduce car crime.

Though that leaves you vulnerable in the event of an emergency. Where have I heard of that before?

  3. The heeeespanick (legality??) thief should count his lucky stars that he didn’t hit a light pole, ignite the inadequately-protected flammable battery array and incinerate himself. Instead, we taxpayers get to extend the life of a lowlife heeespanick punk.

  4. No mention of how he stole it.

Is ‘easy-to-steal by young punks’ yet another bug in this car’s design, or was the owner negligent? Curious minds want to know… so I found this since the story itself doesn’t clearly state which model Tesla it was…

“Tesla Keyless Driving (Firmware 6.0)Keyless Driving is a feature that allows one to power up and drive the Model S without using the factory key fob. In fact the key fob doesn’t even need to be in possession as all you need is a smart phone (with Tesla Model S app installed) and connectivity to the internet.

Pressing the “Start” icon located on the top right corner of the Model S mobile app begins the Tesla Keyless Driving process. You’ll be immediately prompted for your TeslaMotors.com password which many owners have found annoying (despite this being an extra security measure)…

If you activate keyless driving and later change your mind, just be sure that your doors are locked to minimize any attempts at theft. As a test I rolled down the driver’s side window, locked the car, walked away and enabled keyless driving. I then went back to the car (without my key fob) and climbed into the car through the window (without unlocking the car) and was able to drive away.”

    Victim of Road Range

    Awesome. Single letter difference.

… but she’d have to live in NYC. Deal-breaker, I supect

  6. I love the comments on some of these links, suggesting tesla owners buy an F250 and tow the tesla around
    to ensure the it gets to the destination . . . . . . . .
who the FCUK is still buying these gawdforsaken things? these, these, modern day rube goldberg contraptions? (google it)
    ‘road range’ awesome !!!!
