However, remarkably, today that process actually begins.
The air’s been quietly leaving the balloon for weeks.
I used to think Russia must have kompromat on Trump, with his constant pro-Russia rhetoric, inability to criticize them over anything, and repeated removal of economic sanctions. But at this point, what could they even possibly have that would make him lose his support? Of all the heinous possiblities that come to mind, I can’t think of anything that wouldn’t either be shrugged off or dismissed as Fake. Maybe after all he’s just a dude that really really likes Russia.
Inability to criticize (Russia) over anything? You missed the sanctions, the pullout of the INF?
Maybe the Russians have something on Mueller; yeah that’s the ticket.

The propoponents of the Russia Conspiracy and the Mueller “investigation” did not believe a word of it. The whole point was to undermine the president and fight against him. I’d say it ha sbeen pretty successful but the conspirators still have not got their arses from the fire.
The main problem for the rest of us is that this last-ditch sauvez-les-meubles of the corrupt Clintonistas is the undermining of US standing.

The Russia Investigation would have closed up in a matter of weeks with an agreement that the other investigations also stop.
