  1. I’m sure they’ll figure it out. Progressives have ALL the answers….

**Los Angeles is grappling with a homeless epidemic. “It’s the worst human catastrophe in America,” says Andy Bales, a pastor who runs the Union Rescue Mission on Skid Row. Faced with a growing crisis, city leaders last year budgeted more than $100 million for affordable housing, addiction treatment, job placement and mental health services. And yet, as L.A.’s real estate prices soar, so does the city’s homeless population. And nowhere have the twin forces of inaccessible housing and inequality created a more explosive mix than in Venice Beach, a hotbed of entertainment executives and talent where the median home price is $1.9 million. Many of these residents are now grappling with a quality-of-life issue that defies their own liberal ideals.**

  2. Let me fix that misleading and false narrative for you, (revisions in caps); cross-filed under “no sh*t Sherlock:

“In the days after President Trump fired James B. Comey as F.B.I. director, law enforcement officials became so concerned by the president’s ELECTION/behavior that they began investigating WITHOUT EVIDENCE/whether he had been working on behalf of Russia against American interests, according to former DISGRACED law enforcement officials and others familiar with the investigation.”

The special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, took over the inquiry into Mr. Trump when he was PASSED OVER TO REPLACE COMEY/appointed, days after F.B.I. officials opened it. That inquiry is part of Mr. Mueller’s broader examination of how Russian operatives interfered in the 2016 election and whether any Trump associates conspired with them. It is unclear whether Mr. Mueller is still pursuing the counterintelligence matter, and some former law enforcement officials outside the investigation have questioned whether agents overstepped in opening it.”

The criminal and counterintelligence elements were coupled together into one investigation, BY THE SAME PEOPLE WHO GAVE HILLARY A PASS WHO HATED TRUMP’S GUTS AND NEEDED AN INSURANCE POLICY AGAINST CULPABILITY ON THEIR PART/former law enforcement officials said in interviews in recent weeks, because if Mr. Trump had ousted the head of the F.B.I. to impede or even end the Russia investigation, that was both a possible crime and a national security concern. The F.B.I.’s counterintelligence division handles national security matters.”

If the president had fired Mr. Comey to stop the Russia investigation, the action would have been a national security issue because it naturally IT IS TOTALLY WITHIN POTUS AUTHORITY AND PURVIEW/would have hurt the bureau’s effort FRAME TRUMP/ to learn how Moscow TOOK OUT FACEBOOK ADS/ interfered in the 2016 election and whether any Americans were ILLEGALLY SURVEILLED/involved, according to James A. Baker, who served as F.B.I. general counsel until late 2017 BEFORE HE WAS DISMISSED IN DISGRACE. He privately testified in October before House investigators who were examining the F.B.I.’s handling of the full Russia inquiry AS OF 21 MAR/16 WHEN TRUMP ANNOUNCED GEORGE PAPADOPOLOUS AND CARTER PAGE WERE FOREIGN POLICY ADVISORS.”

Maybe the news of the FBI’s abuse of authority and attempt to frame Trump is going mainstream, thus this rearguard action.
No evidence two years later, but apparently the secret GRAND JURY (eww, scary) has been extended (coincidence alert).
Are they storing their fake news provisions for Trump’s all out attack on these selfish statists seditionists? One can only hope.

  3. I think that expresses the intellect of the average liberal voter, as well as the thought process that goes into their votes.

  4. “As to the driver, I can advise you without getting into details, there was a requirement for us to arrest her at the scene and she has been transported to our headquarters for interviewing,” Ottawa police Chief Charles Bordeleau told reporters. In response to a follow-up question, he said: “I can tell you that something led us to arrest the individual and take them to the station.”
She was released later Friday night.

And the reply I received from my text, “Never sit at the front of the bus!” to a 30 year OC Transpo veteran driver/supervisor “New female driver.”

    1. The tragic bus crash last evening in Ottawa should smarten up those who decide it’s a good idea to have double deck buses for regular runs, they are harder to handle when something goes wrong, especially in the crazy weather conditions we have to deal with. The driver will have to deal with this for the rest of her life.

The city of Ottawa had articulated buses which were definitely not suitable for our weather. Very stupid management can be a danger to your life when it comes to public transit. In an era where we are all encouraged to use public transit instead of driving our cars we have to use our own judgement.

      1. Liz J: “The city of Ottawa had articulated buses which were definitely not suitable for our weather.” Calgary has similar crap winter weather and we’ve got lots of articulated buses. But it’s OK; they run near-empty most of the time.

  5. And now CNN this morning. Russia, Russia, Russia. Trump is a Russian asset! Trump is working with the Russians! Russia, Russia, Russia! And the media is excited that an old world war German submarine has resurfaced on a French beach. Rumour has it that Justin has already put a bid on it to supplement our submarine fleet.

  6. Has Trudeau or his illustrious Environment Minister, aka Climate Barbie, ever been asked how they feel about dealing with China with all it’s pollution and why we should pay a tax when we are extremely low on the pollution scale?

  7. It’s a New Year, so the yellow bellied, bought and paid for Presstitutes of the MSM have wound up the spin machine and started spewing “opinion” manure at Max and the PPC:

    https://nationalpost.com/opinion/andrew-coyne-i-for-one-would-welcome-our-new-world-parliament-overlords

Can’t upset the comfortable centrist duopoly. Weak Andy must have his moment to “dully shine” and any real policy discussion or new ideas are anathema to these establishment whores.

      1. The entire Canadian Media is a flaming embarrassment.
        Only exceeded by Canadian voters.
        Most notably Conservatives.

Yes Conservatives. What a bunch of patsies.
Forever playing the Washington General role.
Forever the Charlie Brown to Liberal Lucy holding the football.
And such discriminating choices they make.

        In my lifetime……….

        Butterfingers Bob Stanfield
        Ever lost Joe Who
        Bagsy Brian
        Klueless Kim
        The Manning Menace
        Wrong Way Day

        And finally Steve Charisma.

Who actually won. And was actually competent.

But sadly, Stevie is the biggest disappointment of all.
A loser who gave up and changed nothing.
Why do Conservatives love to lose so much?
How do they fool themselves so thoroughly?

        Namby Pamby Andy?
It’s like the movie Ground Hog Day.

Having been a life-long Conservative, all I can say is that Conservatives are Cowards, Losers and obviously much, much dumber than the always winning Liberals.

Harper just being the latest shining example.

Beyond the TFSA and the billions he didn’t spend now financing worldwide Globalism, what did 8 years of Harper get?”

        Junior.

Fifty years of watching the Canadian Media slice and dice the Conservatives and what has been done about it?

        Nary a whimper.

Who could put the cat among the pigeons better than Quit After The Second Period Harper?

Who has a platform that could inflict actual damage on The Media Party better than old 7 inning Steve?

Who better to shine a light on Canada’s Biased, Partisan, In The Tank, Compromised Liberal-owned Canadian Pravda Media Party than No Mas Steph?

        Noooooooooooobbbbbbbbbooooooodddddddddddy!!!!!!

        Is it gonna happen?

        Noooooooooooowwwwaaaaaayyyyy!

Join the Conservatives and learn how to lose.

Odds on the Gropenfueher ruling long enough to bestow the crown on Junior Junior’s head?

        Vegas won’t touch em.

        1. Whew, glad you got that off your chest!
Now what about those lying thieves, the Liberals?
Got anything to say about them, Tiger?

          1. Liberals?

I could fill the page. But it wouldn’t be anything I haven’t already said. Forty years ago.

And lying thieves is certainly an excellent encapsulation.

But sadly, far from original. Or very helpful.

So keep trying for the perfect epithet, get used to losing to the Liberals and try to keep the annoying whining to a minimum.

And oh yeah. Always losing to Liberals does have consequences. Smart retorts aside.

You may want to get familiar with the Fard Salah.

And practice being more polite to male members of society……..Tigress.

          2. To swampy at 244
With all due respect I regret the comment if it hurt your feelings. My sincere apology.

          3. No apologies needed.
I was being snarky and sarcastic as hell.
I blame it on 50 years of watching(not just watching) the Libranos win.
My apologies to you for my discourteous remarks..

    1. This is a silly position for Coyne to take. Regardless of the likelihood of a world parliament happening, Trudeau needs to be held accountable for signing in favour. Coyne tells us that very few Paliamentatians supported this. Why did Trudeau? Does he still support this ( would not surprise me given “first post-national state”)? Who else signed the document? Coyne is missing an important clue about the leanings of this Government. Journos need to start asking questions. Who really is running our country behind the Liberal cloak? Good for Max for bringing up the issue.

    2. Not one of his better columns. No mention of the existential threat to human freedom posed by a hypothetical government that you couldn’t escape without a space rocket if even then.

That being said he’s all too right about Bernier’s PPC. He’s blowing it.

    3. No surprise that Trudeau would support a world parliament made up of thugs, thieves, and 7th century theocracies. He did tell us after the election that Canada was now a post-national state.

      1. So glad that uNPC has finally admitted he is in favor of illegality, secret deals, lack of transparency, surrendering our nation to the whims of billionaires, and governments enacting secret agendas without seeking a mandate for them. I hope there is space reserved for him on a helicopter soon.

  8. Trudeau’s CBC just gave lots of coverage to the Saudi woman arriving at the Toronto airport. No word yet on riots from Toronto’s muslim community. Foreign Affairs Barbie met her and welcomed her. Freeland answered questions from the loyal media and hogged the event. It should make for some great photos for the election. Although I’m sure it has nothing to do with the election. Freeland meets everyone that arrives at the airport. And Freeland and the CBC reminds everyone, that it has nothing to do with islam. She is escaping family violence.

    1. If it were just family violence, she would not need to leave her country. This is national violence from a Muslim theocratic state. The reasons given for the family anger relate directly to Sharia. I am not so sure she is safe in Canada under the current Liberal regime.

      1. I wonder how the new Islamic Party Of Ontario feels about her arriving in Ontario. No riots yet from the muslim community in Toronto. I notice in the Toronto Sun that Tarek Fatah was not allowed to greet her at the airport, he had to throw some flowers. Can’t have someone who says negative things about islam stand next to Foreign Affairs Barbie.

        1. Just noticed your reference to Foreign Affairs Barbie. Two things: Freeland is not at all Barbiesque. She us much more the Cabbage Patch doll type or “sausage princess” as someone referred to her recently. Secondly, we are no longer Foreign Affairs. The Trudeu regime has decreed that we are now “Global Affairs.” This is also very telling. No wonder why Max is concerned about Trudeau’s loyalties.

      2. The family was angry at her because she cut her hair. Now the whole family will probably face the consequences of her desertion, probably death. I’ll bet they too will seek asylum here, and come to find her. What then?

I read the book about the murderous Shafia family. They murdered wife # 1, and 2 daughters. It was a conspiracy between wife #2, ahem, a ‘cousin’, and the father and the son/brother. The son should’ve moved far away, instead he is in a Canadian jail, along with his father and wife #2.

We, the Canadian taxpayers, are footing the bill for their upkeep in jail. If sharia law comes to Canada And these people will get a ‘get out of jail free card’ and a multi million dollar lottery settlement from Canadians.

Nice Country, we are so benevolent.

  9. Contrast the Canadian media coverage of the “Hereditary Chiefs” versus the “Truckers to Ottawa”.
Another graphic demonstration of the Canadian Media Guild.
Between our Presstitutes and The Canadian Uni-Party of the East(C.U.P.E).
Western Separation is becoming a certainty.

I do not care who wins the next federal election,Canada is done.
I may even vote Liberal as the hostility they generate in the West will stiffen the resolve of western negotiations.
Of course “negotiation” with a parasite is an interesting concept.
    For now.
Existing borders and own police and revenuers..max 10% total tax.Open carry and back to common law.

  10. Oh those populists!

“Italy plans to suspend the issuing of 36 pending oil and gas exploration permits, as the government finds upstream oil and gas activity not of strategic importance to the country.

At the same time, the ruling populist coalition government, in power since June 2018, is looking to significantly boost the share of renewable energy in Italy’s power mix and total energy consumption, including in the transportation sector.”

    https://oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-General/Italy-Looks-To-Block-Oil-Gas-Exploration-Permits.html

    1. NDPers are populists too so what’s your point? Their road to totalitarianism is no shorter or less well defined.

You don’t actually understand what’s going on do you?

        1. Live by your ignorance, die (rhetorically of course) by your ignorance. Not liking Trump isn’t good enough, so learn:

I don’t agree with the “essential” argument, except that Trump is the symptom, not the cause of deplorable populism.

“Reduced to its essentials, populism is America’s way of expressing class antagonism. It is a tradition of rhetorical protest that extends from Jefferson to Franklin Roosevelt to Bernie Sanders and on to the guy who just cooked your hamburger or filled your gas tank . It is powerful stuff. But protest isn’t the property of any particular party. Anyone can be the voice of those who work, and when one party renounces its claim the other can easily pick it up.”

All of which suggests a different answer to the question with which we began. Why is our traditional left failing? It is true that the other side doesn’t play fair any more, but it’s also true that the Democrats are lost in a fantasy of white-collar benevolence. For all their algorithms and their lavishly detailed position papers, their leaders have little personal sympathy any longer with the travails of working people. Populism isn’t the name for this disease; it’s the cure.”

Keep slugging, you may get it right; maybe understanding fascism and socialism occupy the same ideological space.

  11. I got this in an email.

“Don’t know why Americans are so upset about spending $5B on a real wall. Canada spent $4+B on an imaginary pipeline.”
