Premier Rachel Notley’s NDP government argues it has done plenty to object to Bill C-69.
The facts state otherwise.
She was always faking it.

As we used to say. Quiet as a whore in church
Start buying Yellow Vests Alberta. And blockade the TransCanada and all rail lines East and West. At the same time surround the Ledge and drive them bonkers beating on old pots and pans. Say a few thousand unemployed hammering away all in Yellow Safety Vests. Get Out, Commies Out. Put a little energy into it.

Amen to that!
LONG overdue!
If the froggies can do it
So can you!
This is federal legislation. Head to Ottawa and start frightening the Chinese tourists in the Byward Market and the grounds of Rideau Hall. A Molotov in the window of an expense-account restaurant would be a nice touch.
If they don’t get the message through to Justin loud and clear, Beijing will.
(Reminder that Beijing wants us as a colony because they need a backup supply of oil when Saudi runs out in 20 years tops.)
Lock her up!
They are born liars, they live lies and they lie about their lies.
Trudeau and Notley’s motto: Duplicity Is Our Strength.
Here’s mine: When Epsilons Vote, Traitors Get Elected.
The technical and scientific expertise that has created an advantage globally for the industry is being quietly gutted by progressives whether Liebels or Dippers. The people in this industry are leaving just as they did in Venezula. Many are gone to Texas and will not be returning. Canada’s oil industry is expensive on a per bbl basis and losing these people will likely set the industry back for decades.
Just as Canada pissed away the opportunity in LNG the oil industry is now being gutted. Billions of $’s lost to government coffers. Total debt in Canada is now 268% of GDP as global interest rates climb. Where will the money come from to pay the cost??? Most Canadians seemed to be so financially ignorant that they think the status quo of government deficit spending can continue. It cannot and will not.
Maybe a Free Republic of Saskaberta could get out of the abomination that is Canaduh, and start a country with an actual Constitution (not a suicide pact). Being a colony of the Toronto-Montreal corridor is not working at all. I am sure if we can get rid of the leeches in Quebec bleeding us dry, we could actually come up with a way to live without the spectre of the Liberals destroying our economy whenever they please.
It’s time to separate !
C-69, The supreme Court”s decision on victim payments, Trudeau’s Globalism , UN controlling our Immigration, Quebec’s statement that they have no appetite for Western oil ( they can’t get kick backs from us like their Saudi oil) and their fraudulent carbon tax! and on and on it goes with the Liberals and NDP!
How does Notley change her strips when there are pictures of her attending protest rallies against pipelines before she was elected!

She is faking it is right. She and the rest of her Marxist government historically were ideologically opposed to the energy resource industry and wanted it shut down. So that makes any verbosity on her part as to support an outright lie.
That brings out a question. When did it evolve that the Democrat Party in the US and the NDP of Canada actually turn against the blue collar workers in many base resource industries?
short version? the ndp and democrats can count on the union leadership to provide them with what they need, they don’t need the members for anything but the votes, and a goodly portion will follow the leadership no matter what
The biggest problem with the revolution when it comes is that we are not separated by geography but rather ideology – meaning your next door neighbour is statistically your ideological enemy.
Ayn Rand was right – the only way to fight is to ‘Go Galt’. And even that isn’t really an option for a large majority of the believers in small government and personal responsibility – as their personal responsibilities require their continued participation in the economy.
We need a sea change in our societal approach, and that no longer appears possible without very bad things happening to force it.
One day we will find out that Grant abused Rachel throughout her childhood and that she was only able to conceive her children with the aid of newspaper reports of Grant’s plane falling out of the sky.
Thankfully she won’t be an issue for much longer. Bill C-69 is federal legislation. To repeal or reform that, we have to get rid of Justin and replace him with Doug Ford or Max Bernier.
Separation from people that hate you is easier than negotiating with people that hate you, and much more effective. The Constitution of Canada is a bad deal for the west, I’m not interested in having intergenerational discussions with Ottawa over rights that should never have been stolen.
Blocking rail / highway access through Alberta would only work if it was 100% blocked, until Alberta was guaranteed 100% access to both oceans, this wouldn’t be just a few weeks of blockage… I doubt that will happen without separation first, and more likely in the context of a trade agreement with “old Canada”.
Many people have pointed out how Alberta / Saskatchewan would be “landlocked” and weak. If BC is blocked from Old Canada, and Old Canada is blocked from easy access to their crappy Chinese imports, it’s not a “weak” landlocked new country. It’s a mountain those in Old Canada have to negotiate with, and we negotiate from the strength position.
“pictures of her attending protest rallies against pipelines”
Sask. NDP leader Ryan Meili is also prominently featured in such pictures. Saskatchewanians would be well advised to keep this in mind as this greasy little communist and his union sycophants ramp up the demonization of the Saskatchewan Party in the next few months.
Exactly. John Gormley of ‘Angry Gormley Listens’ fame reminds people often.
the average Canadian has become a socialist leech and they are unable to see that their own actions are destroying freedom and the country. if they don’t care now nothing will ever change their tiny minds. people who won’t read are no better than those who can’t read and those who are unable to think critically will never understand what they are doing.
Everybody wants their piece of cheese.
Everybody wants everybody else’s piece of cheese.
Two words: Tzeporah Berman
You can add Brian Topp to that list. He’s just as much of a commie fruitloop as she is.
She had to do/say something at different points, because her back was against the wall, not for any other reason. She’s pissed she didn’t get to destroy our province herself.
I watched a good part of her press conference on “withdrawing” from the carbon tax, and it was as weaselly a withdrawal as you could imagine; that is, it wasn’t one. I saw it as evidence she would never commit to fighting the feds and their assault on the west, so her silence on this file is unsurprising. Too most people, the golden goose looks exactly the same as any other goose.
Politicians lie, especially to get and stay in power. She’s a politician. She lies. Kenny, Scheer, and Bernier do, too, so keep that in mind in any transition.
Alberta’s newest “Senator”, Paula Simons, recently appointed to the Senate by Mr. Trudeau, voted FOR Bill C-69.
With representatives like this, who needs enemies?
Actually she did not vote Yes…she recommended it go to a Senate committee for amendments.
But If one thinks about it…Maybe we should let it go through….? it will only ADD FUEL to the Separation Fire
A fire I am more than happy to stoke.
She absolutely voted against it. I will post in a link to the Hansard below. Scroll to the bottom to see how various Senators voted on this important matter.
https://sencanada.ca/en/content/sen/chamber/421/debates/262db_2018-12-12-e#50
Correction, I mean she voted FOR C-69, the industry-killing bill. I am so angry my wording was confusing.
You knew what I meant.
Remember she is or was a “journalist”.
The reward fer “journalists” to have a guaranteed income is senate.
Works every time.
Its a mutual masturbation society of “journalists” and politicians.
The “journalist” voting against its own province to suit the will of political extremists is an orgasm.
When Notely hired Tzeporah Bermann and placed her in the Alberta OIL ADIVSORY council….? That was all I needd to know about that communist Beotch. In 4 months time, the tsunami of the UCP will completely obliterate her and her party.
Separation.
I am one who lived through the Total Disaster of Trudeau Ver 1.0 – I have not forgotten…nor do I believe those that were here with me at the time have either. Once again we see the same movie…albeit with significantly more in yer face vengeance.
So, what to do..?? I say we go it alone, we ask Saskatchewan and the YUKON to join us. Then we make it our combined National Mission to build 3-4 42″ + Pipelines to access their trans Alaskan Pipelines and then on to VALDEZ Alaska. THAT is where we should ship our product from. Easy access to ASIAN Markets & the Alaskans have previously stated (2013), they would welcome our product with open arms as have their indigeonous folks.
Whats not to like..?
That we MUST Leave this confederation is without Question.
Keep in mind Justin has children…..future Liberal heirs to his gender neutral throne.
Those panel appointments were further evidence of her true agenda. I could do nothing more at the time than shake my head helplessly. Still can’t, I suppose.
I find it astonishing that Canada has governments, and leading politicians, that openly espouse the closing of resource development in Canada. I guess they figure all their familly fortunes and government union payments will continue indefinately.
They are trying to fulfill Maurice Strong’s dream of de-industrializing the west and they want to start with Canada.
they have no idea where wealth actually comes from and when the producers no longer produce they will do as Venezuela has, print worthless money.
Scheer who? This is who. Starve and milk the cow simultaneously. Until it turns into a bull and bolts that is.
Unless we all buck up, all of us, we are going to get a bellyful, as if we didn’t think it could get worse, of this:
“There is no project on the table,” Trudeau said of Energy East in an interview with CTV Question Period host Evan Solomon that airs Sunday. “There is clarity that under the current approach, there is no support for a pipeline through Quebec.”
Cancelled more than a year ago, TransCanada Corporation’s $16 billion Energy East project would have seen a pipeline built from Alberta to eastern Canadian refineries and an export terminal in Saint John, N.B. Any hopes of reviving the project were dashed earlier this month, it seems, when Quebec Premier Francois Legault said that there is no “social acceptability” for building a pipeline through his province to carry what he called “dirty energy.”
https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/no-support-to-revive-energy-east-but-push-for-trans-mountain-continues-trudeau-1.4219086
Well of course what happens in Quebec is paramount; they don’t want our dirty oil, but they are OK cleaning u$ out.
Wanna bet? Scheer must (hasn’t yet) make energy east oil a wedge issue. Keep Khadr on the radar. Have a bold vision for limited government – go for the gusto and bring in a national sales or flat tax and eliminate income taxes once and for all, the great wealth killer and poverty inducer it is. One can dream.
THE WEST WILL SEPARATE if Trudeau is re-elected.
I would even move to Alberta to separate from Trudeau’s “what Canadians want” incompetent statism
But not after a real good try at my fellow BCers to ditch these eastern parasites.
Save Canada, vote Scheer and CPC. Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good (and frankly no other choice).
Well of course what happens in Quebec is paramount; they don’t want our dirty oil, but they are OK cleaning u$ out.
Quebec’s attitude is that Alberta’s natural resources belong to it. (“Nice oil sands you got there, Alberta. Be a shame if something happened to them, ya know?”) That was the basis for the dispute between Lougheed and PET 40 years ago.
That’s why I referred to the “equalization” payments as danegeld in another thread. We are paying protection money or, maybe, tribute to our apparent “masters” to have them leave us alone….. until they want more from us, which is guaranteed.
Rupertsland now!
Redd is an enemy of the people. She is a big union supporter and I’m waiting for her to deliver the goods to the teachers nurses and public employees.
This should happen before the next election. It will be a ‘present’ to the unionistas and a promise. Vote ndp and there will be more to come.
If the ndp are defeated the new government will be saddled with the contract.
She is a big union supporter
That’s hardly surprising. Her husband is a union hack–CUPE, I think.
The plan is that there are no pipelines, no oil industry in Alberta.
While Rach and the drama queen talk about the pipeline to the west coast, you may notice that zero and nothing is happening in regards of the actual building it.
Thinking here is that while the two socialist extremist project their love of pipeline west, everything else is going opposite way.
The key distraction here is that the two, by the appearances can’t be blamed for the situation while at the same time they go along with their original scheme.
As anybody who knows things, knows that the last election in Alberta was an aberration. A confluence of events that let the socialist extremists get hold of the government. You may know that they themselves were taken aback by the results.
Things though have crystalized.
Alberta will vote conservatives, at times holding their nose because of some collateral stench.
Edmonton will vote socialist and Liberal, that is where the government bureaucracy lives, they are not going to vote out their bloated salaries, their leisurely jobs, their free money, guaranteed jobs, guaranteed pensions and all the perks of the ruling class.
It is not at all clear that the Conservatives will change any of that to bring the government to something resembling normal and that is why yer got to hold yer nose.
And now you know what the deal is.
Alberta has the government that they deserve. Perhaps it is time for citizens to wall of Edmonton, rip out any services going to it, and wait fort all the commies in the province to simply die. No food, no power, no water goes in. No sewage, no garbage, nothing comes out.
Any riding that has an NDP MLA, start walling it off now, prevent people leaving, rip out the roads. People who live around Wascana center…
Any riding that has an NDP MLA, start walling it off now, prevent people leaving, rip out the roads.
Does that include me? I have the misfortune of living in Red Rachel’s riding, moving here long before she became my MLA. And, no, I didn’t vote for her.
And, yes, I’m thinking seriously about moving but not right now. I’m in the process of settling my father’s estate and I’ve got enough to deal with right now.
Rather than a “sympathizer”, perhaps you can consider me as part of a fifth column.
(reCaptcha is becoming increasingly ridiculous. Since when is part of a motor vehicle not a vehicle? I guess cars and trucks don’t need all tires on the road, right?)
That is the curse of the the secret ballot; no one can prove how they voted either way, or even if they voted at all. There are so many things that people thought were a good idea at the time…
I suggested not long ago that only an oral vote in the presence of a sworn election official and one other witness would guarantee fraud-free elections.
As an added bonus, it would be easy to find out who voted which way. Knowing who was a communist would make it much easier for decent people to refuse to employ them, refuse to serve them in their businesses, and refuse to speak to them unless their jobs in law enforcement made it unavoidable.
Until the circus barkers give way to the rational and pragmatic voice of self-determination, Alberta and Saskatchewan (and possibly other provinces & territories) will be unable to gather sufficient support within their own borders to summon the courage to believe that their future as a sovereign territory, out from under the thumb of the Laurentian elites, is possible, let alone a real alternative.
To anyone who still refers to Andrew Scheer like he is a relevant person, or even still alive; I demand that you shut the F up, and never again try to make other people stupider by listening to your moronic drivel.
Canada is over. Shut up, and get out of the way. Scheer was never going to help in any way. The only question remaining with regards Andrew Scheer, is whether or not he outperforms Kim Campbell.
After Alberta and Saskatchewan finally implement Dumont’s and Riel’s vision, what remains of Canada will just be another failed state, dragged down by the communist debt of Ontario and Quebec.
Like the man said to the horse, why the long face? Are we at least allowed to fight for the survival of our country?
Would you prefer we lose the election before the writ is dropped? Hang on to your nail for now is my advice.
Any politician who is not going to fight, is irrelevant. Scheer, Moe, Pallister; any of you think any of them would be willing to go even one billionth as far as Horgan, Notely, Wynne, Trudeau, have down the path of openly ignoring and breaking laws? Simply making up new rules as they go?
She, Justin and Gerald Butts care so, so so,so, so, so deeply about Canada and Canadians.
