Openly Gay and Openly Conservative don’t equate – one is a mixture of political, social, and economic value systems – the other is a STFU about what you prefer to stick your genitals in when behind closed doors.
Homosexuals can’t seem to differentiate the two. Namely our rights to not have their particular perversions foisted publicly on our children.

It is not unreasonable nor non conservative to advocate for equality before the law, that for example, a gay couple should expect the same privileges (masquerading as “rights”) under the current law. IOW, the state shouldn’t be in the business of marriage sanctification but merely contract enforcement, if anything. The author didn’t sound like the type of gay advocate that supports state enforcement of gay celebration and gay normalcy thought and speech control of the authoritarian progressives.
I realize that the “biblical” conservatives see homosexuality as a sin (along with the significantly more retrograde Muslim book-followers) and, as a result tend to keep the “social conservative” brand not only non secular but essentially unelectable. I only see homosexuality as a form of biological deviancy, personally disturbing perhaps but certainly unjustifiable for any form of state discrimination, for or against.
