I am appalled that Humane Society International has chosen to bring another two hundred dogs into Canada. Appalled at their lack of transparency and honesty. Many Korean Meat Farm dogs are not able to be rehabbed, many are not able to be adopted and many would have been in a better place if they were humanely euthanized before even bringing them to Canada. Dogs that are born and raised on those meat farms have a very hard time adjusting to life in general, let alone a pet home. HSI thinks people can just go and “adopt” them from the shelters? Let me ask you this……and again I am not trying to toot my own horn….If I, who have been in rescue and the dog world for over 15 yrs could not “save” them how in the hell is the average Joe going to be able to?
The full story here.

I’m no expert on Korean cuisine but why the heck do we care what Koreans like to eat? The only place that Ben and Rise belong is in a stew or between a hamburger bun or garnished on top of some fried rice dish with kimchi?
Check this out and have a smile today on me! It is the first photo of the lab covering the baby that melts the ♡ but the rest are beautiful too! Enjoy!

I know all about that. There have been dachshunds in the family for nearly 40 years and the last one outlived both of my parents.
After my father died, I was worried about what to do with the critter, but, eventually, the lady who took him in offered to adopt him. Of course, I said yes because he now has a better home than I could have given him.
One of the conditions of the adoption is that I get to see him once in a while and, during the last trip to the house I inherited, I arranged to have him stay with me while I was there. The little guy and I had a good time. He was always ready and willing to play “fetch” and, at night, he would crawl into my sleeping bag and cuddle up next to me.
However, just as he was overjoyed to be back in his former stomping grounds when he was brought to the house, he was glad when his “Mummy” returned to pick him up.
The dog was the runt of the litter and nobody seemed to want him, which, I suppose, was the reason my father chose him. When I was going through some of my father’s things, I found some pictures of the little guy soon after he was brought home. It didn’t take long for the two of them to become best buddies. After my mother died, they became inseparable.
I warn people that he can be quite vicious. Everyone who comes to the house is in serious danger of being licked to death.
It is great that you can still see and have your family dog ‘visit’ with you. He sounds like a good dog!
I haven’t any pets but used to have an ‘Old Yeller’ lab like in the first photo. I help out neighbours on occasion with their pet care when they’ve gone away and were stuck. I have cared for 4 dogs and 1 cat. The latter was very strange, but accepted me when she she realized I was all that she had. She came around after I ignored her but not her needs such as food and water. I psyched her out!
(The story of the sad dogs in thread are unbearable. I’m sorry for them. We cannot help them all, sadly)
sounds like certain inner city folks……..
If a person/organisation has to go to another country to rescue dogs, mayhap it’s they that have the problem, not the dogs? Just a thought. It’s like they can’t help themselves poking their noses in where they aren’t wanted or needed.
It’s like they aren’t poking their nose in where they are wanted and needed, because it would be too hard and they want to divert to something easy.
Makes me think of Munchhausen Syndrome (by Proxy?). Mental disorders akin to politicians/government drones looking for invented problems to solve.
No one loves doggies (not to eat) more than me but aren’t there enough unwanted dogs in Canada without importing more? Especially if they may have diseases that we really don’t want.
I didn’t see one word about quarantine
Bingo!
When my family moved to Hawaii in the early 60’s our beloved dog was quarantined for quite a while. Because I was only 6 years old, I can’t remember exactly how long it was, but it was at least 3 months and possibly more. Thank God there are no communicable canine diseases in China today…
Yeah, I remember wondering about that the first time I heard about foreign “rescues”. It’s worrisome.
At least it’s legal to have dogs destroyed if they’re impossible to socialize. Human “refugees,” not so much.
Let decent people give as many dogs a second chance as their resources will allow. It’s Muslims who need keeping out.
Damn those recent immigrants from Korea are smart.
Instead of attempting (for sure a futile effort) to import “fresh dogmeat” with all the hostility and fake horror that the virtue signalling busy bodies will dump on them..They use their heads and incite the retards at the HSI to do that for them
Face it the HSI has become an entrenched bureaucracy, with zero interest in animal welfare.
Just pay the fees adopt the dog and say nothing, very tasty.
Next feast have your children adopt another.
I wonder how many names each family can use?
On a related issue:
One of the issues on the ballot in Florida this week was a Florida constitutional amendment to ban greyhound / dog racing.
They needed 60% to pass this, and received 69% and so it will be phased out over the next year and two months.

The remaining states that allow this will not be able to absorb all the dogs from Florida. I think there remains roughly an equal number of dogs racing outside of Florida. I think they’re terrific… though somewhat goofy dogs.
I do hope to get one.

Marc, there is a greyhound that comes to our Fredericton dog park, and he is one fast, skinny beast. Much faster than our black Labador, who is slightly overweight.
What is it with leftist (I’ll call it aberrant) thought? Specifically, what is it with the leftists need to INVENT a crisis? Hate crimes are invented (read: multiple fake homophobia “crimes”), Hate Speech is invented (read: interpreted by Twitter), Hijab crimes are invented (read: little girl on her way to school), Children change genders (uggh), and now … dog rescues are invented (read: find them in Korea). What’s the matter? Run out of domestic dogs that need REAL rescue? Liberalism (read: leftists) is a mental disorder.
I guess it really is Munchhausen Syndrome by proxy on a societal, possibly global scale.
It really does boil down to, they believe society is sick, and they will do ANYTHING, to prove it. This is what they are teaching at grade schools, middle schools, high schools, universities, how they rule in courts, how they rule in “human rights” tribunals, how they legislate, … This is how we are being governed; by mentally ill people who will do anything to prove that we are the sick ones that need help.
This explains every action Merkel ever took.
It explains Pol Pot and the khmer rouge.
Socialism IS Munchhausen Syndrome by proxy. Socialism IS a mental illness. It is untreatable, cannot be negotiated with, or medicated.
So, the Liberal Party of Canada shall henceforth be known as the Munchhausen Syndrome by proxy party of Canada. They harm the citizens of Canada to prove that the citizens of Canada are sick and need their help. Likewise Democrats, every political party in the UK. Every party in Germany. Most parties in France…
Kevin! You nailed it! … that’s EXACTLY what it is!
And like the typical Munchausen patient … the Left isn’t just faking and imagining societal ills … they’re actually MAKING our society SICK! They’re poisoning our Western culture and society with every action they take. And what’s worse … they have the media amplifying popular belief in the illness. Perhaps this is why I admire Jordan Peterson so much … he has diagnosed the mental patients accurately, and is doing his best to spread the word.
I recommend reading “The Losers” by David Eddings. He’s best known for writing fantasy novels, but this was one of his first and it was a contemporary drama. A bright teenager loses a lot of his future by losing a leg and the socket it fits in (never challenge a train) and does his best to avoid the welfare trap by adjusting his circumstances. As he has reduced mobility (no prosthesis because no socket), he starts people watching in his new, affordable, neighbourhood. “The Losers” are those around him that continuously sabotage themselves as they lurch from crisis to crisis. If they’re involved in a crisis (even secondhand) then their own problems, or doing anything about them, fall by the wayside and they become important, because the matter they’re concerned about is so much greater than they could ever be.
I like his storytelling.
There used to be a dog trade around the local cattle auction marts. You had a set of unplanned pups you’d bring them on sale day and they’d find a new home. On occasion an ‘oriental’ type would show up looking for a dog but they usually wanted a mature dog. If there was one around they got it. Nobody thought too much about it.
I’m no bleeding heart when it comes to eating meat. I’ve ate cat (mountain lion/lynx) and today I cooked a moose tongue (offal is awful – right?)
You wanna eat dawg? Go for it.
Twelve (12) fucking pages of CAPTCHA before verification? We’ve gone from the ridiculous to the sublime. Can’t this mess be fixed?
Could they not just go to the local reserve and pick up a fair few of the “feral” dogs that roam there? Transportation would be a lot cheaper.
Stupid virtue signaling NPCs. When a Prius isn’t enough to show how much you care you get an imported Korean wild dog. That will show your neighbor who just imported a furious furball from an injun reserve in Yukon and who embarrassed you by asking if your hybrid is “plug in” like his.
People please don’t create demand for imported wild animals. Get your new family members from a reputable breeder. Do your homework and don’t trust some humane society NPC do it for you. They know nothing and only operate on an assumption that you know even less. Avoid them at all cost.
Munchausen syndrome by proxy (MSP) — or Munchausen by proxy — is a psychological disorder marked by attention-seeking behavior by a caregiver through those who are in their care. https://www.webmd.com/mental-health/munchausen-by-proxy#1
“attention-seeking behaviour by a caregiver”… that is NOTHING like Prime Minister Selfie. No, not at all, or in the least.
“The person with MSP gains attention by seeking medical help for exaggerated or made-up symptoms of a child in his or her care.”
Climate change… that is the opposite of exaggerated or made-up! It is like, totally, the defining struggle of our time! The ne plus ultra of existential threats!
It explains why they cannot be reasoned with.
You are sick, therefore you must be helped/fixed/stopped. From their point of view you are a patient; not a rational actor. So nothing you say or do matters.
Crap on a frickin stick.
Imagine you are one of very few people in the world who is not sick.
You and this select group are the only ones who can help, stop, or fix everyone else. On the planet.
How do you behave? Would you be willing to dox someone so they could get the help they need?
Would you be willing to punch someone to protect others? Shoot someone? Lie?
A pound to a penny the Koreans that breed these dogs only care about the selling price. So all the “rescuers” are doing is providing a demand over and above that for meat, the result being that just as many are eaten, and an extra number is bred, and mishandled, for “rescue” .
They are not only doing nothing about dogs being eaten, but they are encouraging the production of more mistreated dogs than would otherwise exist- they are making things worse.
