        1. Ah, Commander Cody And His Lost Planet Airmen…..

During my sophomore undergrad year, I lived in one of the main on-campus residences. One of my next-door neighbours insisted on partying just about every night during the first term. Guess what was on his turntable nearly every time?

To make matters worse, I had lectures at 0800 each day, so I needed to sleep. For some reason, I didn’t do so well that term. I can’t imagine why…..

Another good article from yesterday in the NP. This one from Barbara.
As far as I’m concerned most globalists are selfish sh*theads who care nothing about the locals toiling away. They don’t care about contributing locally or nationally, just about themselves. They have no sense of place, no ties, no allegiance but to their own comfort… and they’re not big fans of democracy, just like PM Dicktater.

One of the recaptcha minions needs to be double-tapped.

    1. Bit of a facile and useless conlduing paragraph. The Liberal Imperialists (nice phrase) will not tolerate, that is all; it goes against their imperialism as it is not the old fashioned British kind but a militant steamrolling kind that brooks no variation in thought.

    2. Globalism gained traction for many reasons. The standard economic missive is that business has to grow where costs are cheapest. I always thought the costs involved were highly relative. Moving wealth into 3 rd world countries by building manufacturing plants often stabilized governments, improved economies and yes expanded the pie as Ronny Reagan often explained.

The downside that Trump often talks about is that the wealth transfer was financed by the American consumer and by American workers who lost their jobs. “Those jobs are never coming back!” A statement heard from politicos on both sides of the aisle. A large segment of the USA corporate culture saw an opportunity to make big bucks by transferring their costs overseas. They accessed the USA market and kept their profits overseas, away from the IRS.
All these decisions have multiple rationales and results.

I have said from the get go when Trump was elected in 2016 that he was a symptom of the times. The world is drowning in debt. The only beacon that might save the planet when the inevitable collapse happens is the USA. IMHO the think tanks of America are positioning the USA to come out of the debt collapse as that ‘beacon’. With the DEM’os
getting control of the House I suspect another spending craze for the next 2 years as the politicos compete for the hearts of Americans. I doubt the world economy makes 2 years before collapse.

    3. Stephen Harper also talks about Globalism and the rise of populism in his new book, “Right Here, Right New”. In the book he divides the people into two camps, the ‘Anywheres’, meaning those individuals and corporations who have no allegiance to any place local or national, hence open borders and multiculturalism. The other camp is ‘Somewheres’, meaning people who want to work and live and have allegiance to their village, town, city, nation, and culture.

    4. I just saw the Trump news conference today (Wednesday November 7), and Trump was surprisingly conciliatory to the Democrats and their supporters, like Ophra Winfrey whom he called “a friend”. Then came the question-and-answer session, and after two polite questioners, CNN reporter Jim Acosta got up and started badgering Trump, repeatedly asking obnoxious questions in a loud, nasty tone. After a while of this, a woman staffer came over a tried to take the mike from Acosta, and the two struggled over the mike for a bit.

Acosta is one nasty, rude human being. He pulls these stunts just to try to embarrass Trump.

  2. Meanwhile in Washington state voters rejected a carbon tax.

Initiative 1631 was put forward by the Alliance for Jobs and Clean Energy, a coalition of environmentalists, businesses and other liberal groups. The measure called for taxing emissions at $15 a ton in 2020, which will increase at $2 a year above the rate of inflation until the state meets its emissions goals.

Turdeau – pay attention. US voters in a green state voted down a $15 a ton tax with a $2 dollar a year increase.

Turdeau wants $20 ton with a $10 dollar a year increase until $50 dollars a ton. Gerry Butts (Turdeau’s principle aide) wants to increase that even more.

      1. I believe Butts himself reports to other masters. They all are just playing a role. The globalists and UN are pulling the strings.

  3. I understand, but do not agree with “diversity is our strength.” So here we have diversity in action:

I am not sure how the left responds to this, but it clearly does ultimately undermine national cohesiveness to have immigrants expressing their allegance to a foreign country. The same thing is happening in Canada. It happened symbolically when the niqab question in conjuction with taking the oath of citizenship was addressed. Some people saw this as a big fuss over a piece of clothing or a matter of personal choice. The personal choice, however, was to put allegiance to some other country or political agenda ahead of loyalty to Canada. It was symbolic — and understood as symbolic both by those pushing the issue and those expressing concern about it.

Canada’s sovereignty and sense of identity is being systematically undermined (similar to US sovereignty is undermined as illustrated in the expression of support for Palestine in the link.) Liberals seem pretty tone-deaf regarding the threat. Immigration is not the issue so much as willingness to integrate — (or not.) And putting Canada first (or not). Liberals and their political base are very much favouring the “or not” side of this equation. The Liberals put out news releases for every last holiday or event happening among the immigrant population, while ignoring the social and cultural history of Canada. Why should immigrants care about Canadian history and heritage if the government does not? I rant a lot, but truthfully, I am sick at heart about this and about the failure of so many Canadians not to see the folly.

I couldn’t finish either one as I was infuriated at the woman’s stupidity. The U. S. is the source of all evil in the world, apparently. By comparison, the Soviet Union must have been a paragon of virtue–it never invaded any countries or toppled governments it didn’t like, did it?

Oh, by the way, did you know that Venezuela is really a capitalist country? No, I didn’t either. Also, the real goal of the “immigrants” is to go home some day. (Huh?)

As has been said on SDA before, you can’t fix stupid.
