I also have been wondering about the middle of the night payment to Khadr (where they made sure Khadr’s victim’s wife would get nothing — so supportive of women, wouldn’t you agree?) I would like to know why this was not allowed to go through the courts. Bureaucrats and politicians made that 10 million dollar payment. We were not forced by the courts to do it. Had the issue gone to court, the amount may have been lower or not been supported. More importantly, the government could have lowered the amount using the not-withstanding. I believe this was not put through the Supreme Court to avoid that option. Trudeau and Libs did not want the option of lowering or preventing the payment, again to cater to their Muslim base. Worse, we never hear about it, but there were a number of similar payments made. The Liberal government stands for its own interests and does not have Canadian interests in mind.
