They couldn’t convict Cosby so they resorted to a nearly all white jury and presented five additional statute barred cases as similar fact evidence. I asked a lawyer who specialized in litigation and she said “That’s a lot of similar fact evidence.” In fact the similar fact evidence overwhelms normally presentable evidence. There are no rules anymore in accomplishing the goals of the Godless Marxists.

      due to debt. will it happen when US debt reaches 30 trillion ‘with a T’? 50? 80?
      I plan to be OUT of debt long before then and am currently paying off credit cards to the tune of 500 – 1000 bucks a month.

In 2002, I was reading postings from people who said that the U.S. government is two wings of the same vulture, and that the world is headed toward feudalism. A top official of the U.N. has stated that they are slowly transforming the world AWAY from capitalism.

      Trudeau and Obama are puppets for the U.N. and globalists such as Soros, whose open society, open borders concept apparently requires mobs of lawless thugs to enact and enforce. Obama has endorsed Cortasio-Cortez, she of the spaced-out eyes and communist views. Brennan has voted Communist in the past and is a Muslim convert. Trudeau extolled the virtues of a dictatorship. Canada has hate speech laws.

      Meanwhile, the American tech company heads want to dictate what can be posted on their platforms, and in order to tap the mega market of China, those tech companies are kowtowing to communists. One would think that Venezuela would be a clear object lesson, but universities seem to be incubators for radical leftists right now.

    The left are constantly changing the rules. It’s time we started using them. Every single Democrat on the committee needs someone to levy an unfounded allegation against them, just to show them how it’s done. Then other committees. Then federally-appointed leftist judges, starting at the Supreme Court. Then federal agency apparatchiks that are hard to fire. Then random senators and representatives. Then the CEOs of the social media companies and Amazon and newspaper publishers. Then actors. University boffins. And so on. And do it in Canada also. If they want to revive McCarthyism and adopt communist denunciation processes, let’s get at ‘er, because they have a head start, and time’s a-wastin’.

  9. Have to say, he’s over the top on this one. He’s talking as if our culture was made of these institutions that are currently failing, or being perverted by Leftists. Example, Christian Churches generally are being perverted in a lot of cases, and are under attack from within and without.

    But the people in those churches haven’t changed. They are all still the same, their culture has not moved. Are Catholics in China less Christian since the RC Pope made a deal with the Communist government? No they’re not, and you better believe the government over there knows it. They will remain as they are, even if every church building in the country is demolished.

    When you read the headlines, it is easy to get discouraged. But you need to realize that WE have not changed, only the headlines have.

  10. “Fake News” is a misnomer, given that the general force of prejudicial media coverage is not just falsity, but the effort to substantiate progressive agendas.

    The latter part of that sentence brings to mind a previous CBC article entitled “$15 minimum wage is good for business”. The article made the claim that “research has shown” a higher minimum wage will boost the economy. They quoted only one source, that being the research group NELP.ORG.

    In the Nelp About page you can read this:

    NELP fights for policies to create good jobs, expand access to work, and strengthen protections and support for low-wage workers and the unemployed.

    CBC “News” used an advocacy group trying to promote higher minimum wages as a “research group” that found higher wages lead to economic growth.

    “the effort to substantiate progressive agendas”. The CBC should put that right in their tag-line.

    Rome didn’t fall in 476AD. It crumbled slowly for many years until their was little left to defend and the Barbarians rode in on horseback. There is no doubt the USA is in decline. It starts with the inability (or reluctance) to defend your own borders. It ends with no borders to defend.

Throwing away basic rights like due process, presumption of innocence and free expression will harm the most vulnerable people in society, regardless of its original targets. Rich, white VIP conservatives today but inevitably it’s the poor, the marginalised and minorities that will feel injustice the hardest tomorrow as woke justice is normalised. Injustice towards minorities and marginalised people are the reason why those protections must exist. Mob justice and vigilantism are present in all times and places where rights were/are not protected. You can already see progressives turn on their fellow brothers and sisters, allies, who are insufficiently enthusiastic about the any small aspect of the ever evolving rituals and proclamations of wokeness.

    I watch the rise of this new fundamentalist religion with both fascination and dread. I was always curious how in certain historical eras large numbers of seemingly normal people could lose their minds and blindly follow ideas that are so obviously crazy. Now we’re all getting a first hand look at how it happens.

      I’m not sure that the progressives shoulder that much the blame for throwing away our basic rights, LC. As far as I’m concerned it happens because good people refuse to stand up and speak out.

      1. Perhaps but these rights are being eroded by the chattering class – politicians, academics, media. People who, theoretically, should know better. Instead, they are fomenting and facilitating the woke cult chipping away at the foundations. Anyone who does speak up is immediately shouted down and hounded out of their jobs. It’s practically impossible to stop a self-righteous mob that’s screaming for blood (metaphorically, for now).
