I think you would have to ask Berry Gordy Jr. that question as Steveland Judkins Morris was eleven years old when he was signed up to Motown and given his current stage name. The kid was talented and a firecracker on stage and went on to great success. I believe Motown signed up only Blacks so was the blindness a factor? I doubt it. The more interesting question is if he would have focused on music had he not been blind.
Like most celebrities, his views on politics and green theology are of no greater value than that of the general population, perhaps less so given the progressive bubble in which they marinate.
