  1. Hey, all the conservatives on here who always call for “anti-trust action against Google”; this is the path that giving more and more power to government, and never thinking about where it goes puts you on.

Government has the power to buy statues? To buy ‘Voice of Fire’? Then they have the power to remove them.

Government has the power to create safe injection sites? Then they have to power to jail you for being under medicated.

None of you will be any use in the coming war, because none of you have ever met a new regulation you did not like. So, when antifa is beating you to death on the street, don’t look to me for any help. You could have started making government smaller and less powerful years ago, but you never ever supported that goal in any way. Every chance you got, you voted for bigger government and more regulations, never smaller or fewer. So now you get to suck it.

But hey, maybe if you just vote for the right new regulation next time, it will all work out.

    1. Hey, all the conservatives on here who always call for “anti-trust action against Google”; this is the path that giving more and more power to government, and never thinking about where it goes puts you on.

Conquest’s First Law of Politics is “Everyone is conservative about what he knows best”. People misread that. It doesn’t mean “everyone is right-wing about what he knows best”, it means everyone wants the things they know best to stay the same, and if that means using the State’s coercive force of arms, so be it.

Then again, most conservatives don’t know a damn thing about the Internet works, so it may be a moot point.

  2. So now we have the Taliban mindset here in Canada. I expect Mayor Lisa Helps would prefer a statue of Lenin and Marx.

    1. She has one of each, about 8 inches long, on either side of her bed in case she feels left handed, right handed, or both.

oops….Should I have not said that, was that wrong? It is so hard to tell these days, will someone please tell me what virtue I should signal. Oh well, it doesn’t matter – now it is in the past and if I judge that comment from a few years in the future when statue love is all the rave, well – who are we to pre-judge the future judges of the past.

    2. First they came for the white colonial statues …
Then they came for the white So. African farmers …
Then they came for white Canadians …
Then they came for the Hindu Canadians …
Then they came for the …

There is a COST for not defending statues.

  3. Hmm … verrrry interesting.

This is how the communists changed the world in pictures.

    https://dennikn.sk/1038777/fotografia-a-moc-ako-komunisti-vystrihli-clementisa-z-pamati/

Notice the picture on the left, the guy you see in front was a communist president, the guy immediately to the left in the background was a communist prime minister.
After the communists killed off most of the government, the prime minister being one of the killed, they retouched the picture on the right and wiped it off those they disagreed with.
The picture on the left was the official picture after that in the papers.
If you have enough patience, you can find many examples of the same from the glorious Soviet Union and other glorious socialist paradise places in communist ruled countries.

While they could not possibly kill McDonald, the least they can do is remove him from memory.
That will happen, you can take it to the bank.

This is how totalitarian diktat works.

    1. “The picture ‘on the left was’* the official picture after that in the papers.”

      *Should read ‘on the right’

      1. leeeeeft, riiiiiight, it’s all the same in the exclusive corridors of powah.
leftist elites do NOT ‘own’ the luxury getaway or the dacha or the limos. the STATE owns that stuff.
moot. the elites get EXCLUSIVE access to the above.
hard line right wing? THEY *personally* own the goodies in addition to exclusive use of the really big ticket stuff like a 100 million dollar aircraft. aka ‘airforce 1’.
see the difference? no? cause THERE AINT ONE.

  4. Ohoh! The City of Victoria? Named after a ruler who conquered or occupied most of the brown people in the world.

  5. If you read the GM article, the idiot mayor talks about removing the “colonial legacy”, by removing the statue of the man who was instrumental in taking British Columbia away from being a colony! Duh!

    1. Exactly. McDonald brought B. C. into Confederation, one condition being a rail connection to the rest of the country.

Since Victoria wants to erase his memory, would B. C. please do the rest of us a favour and become an independent colony again?

I inherited my father’s house in B. C., and people wonder why I don’t want to move there….

  6. How about a removal of all things connected with the largest group of slave owners in Canada, the Indians who enslaved black, white and red slaves. Ban Japanese made feather headdresses.

  7. Up next, the removal of all totem poles for celebrating a culture that actively practised slavery, cannibalism and inter-tribal genocide until forced to stop by people like John A MacDonald.

  8. As I’ve said here before “First they come for the statues then they come for the statutes.” This is nothing more than an attempt to rewrite history, by a group that is intent on ruling the world their way. Whether they call themselves Marxists, Antifascists, Progressives, Liberals or whatever they call themselves they are nothing more or less than the fulfilment of Hitler’s ideal form of government! Liberals are Fascists in clown suits. They have entertained the mob just as the orchestra entertained the internees at Theresienstadt. When Obama removed the Churchill bust from the White House it was a clear indication of the intent that was being presented, from there it escalated to removing a large portion of American history from small towns across the American south. Now we have our own ‘cleansing’ happening here in Canada. For whatever reason they have come up with, there is nothing that can camouflage their ultimate aim.

    1. Liberals are Fascists in clown suits. – you could have something there; our Glorious Leader wore a buncha’ them while he was holidaying in India…

      – Oops! was that insulting to the Indian people? His conduct was sure insulting to us!

  9. This is just another step in reversing the apartheid as encouraged by the SCOC. Eliminating the “legacy of colonialism” entails eventually eliminating all non qualifying racially pure humanity on FN “territory” or at least making them all second class citizens but Lisa hasn’t figured that one out yet. I doubt that History is taught, if taught at all anymore, in any manner without the requisite progressive pieties as editorial underpinning so fewer and fewer will miss the “old” history.

How about replacing it with a mural of Haida war parties invading the Songhees villages and taking their slaves while killing those not agile enough to hide deep in the woods with a title of “Left Coast Utopia before Colonialism”.

Cultural and economic vandalism, it’s what the progressives do and thanks to socialist education it’s all done via the ballot box.

    1. Exactly. The biggest reminder of colonialism….the colonialists and their ancestors. This game will go on forever until a grown up finally puts an end to it.

So much fun watching suckers like mayor lisa get played. Great show! 5 out of 5 popcorns.

    2. You should read up on the Iroquois. Tasty reading! We already have a good impression of Azteca “life”. The ROT (rest of the tribes) should celebrate the arrival of “white man”. Their tribes generally survived when they may have been eradicated by their own brethren. Be careful what you wish for, Red Man.

  10. meanwhile, who was it put the infamous INDIAN ACT in place?
    the Liberals. google it.

very very selective those sjws eh?

  11. This is all about wiping out the history of this country, those who built it and what they stood for.
We are welcoming immigrants with whom we have never had any history and they will form communities across the land. We will be a nation of communities, stand for nothing . We will have a perfect setup for a cesspool of warring factions much like some of the places these new settlers came from. Canada will no longer have a cohesive society under one flag, fighting for it and protecting it.

Trudeau and company are not doing anything to stop it, they are enabling it. That’s what multiculturalism encourages, that along with P E Trudeau’s Charter of Rights a Freedoms ensures it will happen.
After all, we cannot offend newcomers with our way of life, we must give them up, or hide them.

    1. My thoughts exactly. This is the destruction of nationhood. And it is deliberate. They are destroying our history and bringing in immigrants from very different cultures to define the future. Immigration should be coupled with a strong sense of who we are as a people to ensure that newcomers also identify with our traditional culture. Sadly, this is not happening.

    2. Yep, population replacement and the obliteration of our history… just as the Post National State voted… really though, this distortion and obliteration of history has been going on since the first Turd, Peeair. The other thing that is interesting is the Media completely agreeing with the leftist Mayor’s dictates… Should”nt British Columbians be the ones that decide whether or not their history is obliterated and not some lesbo leftist activist.

  12. The first thing that should have been done was tell the two bands to phuckoff and eat shyte. The second thing should have been to put a even bigger statue of Mac up.
This is tip of the iceberg crap. What’s the next removal from these ‘colonialism hurts’ mofo’s – every white face.

  13. Hey, if you,re going to get rid of Mac then Douglas, Victoria, Pemberton, Helmchen have to go too. I think Helps primary aim is to change the name of Victoria to Camosun.

    1. If they get away with this, this is exactly what will happen. Sir John A. Macdonald and Cornwallis are only the beginning.

      1. Yep, this is only the beginning, we are sitting back letting it happen without a whimper, all will be lost just the way the progressives want it. Selective history is all that’s being taught in schools now anyway, socialist creep has morphed into a full blown monster.

  14. “…We will have a perfect setup for a cesspool of warring factions much like some of the places these new settlers came from. Canada will no longer have a cohesive society under one flag, fighting for it and protecting it.”
Sorta what this place was like, before White Man came? Tribes. One sort or another. The 7th Cavalry would ride north & occupy this place, were that to happen. Rule # 1: No open flanks. Munroe Doctrine.

    1. @ 1:52 p.m. to PO’ed in AB:

Munroe Doctrine? Bring it on. Yes, please.
In my view it would be an honor to become an American citizen.

P.S. As long as they’re changing history … in May the ‘Victoria’ Day holiday, is now sometimes referred to as the ” May Long”…heard it called that. Wouldn’t mind a long weekend by the name of ‘Memorial Day’ instead. Better than no holiday or a Communist holiday.
( you fill in the Communist’s name )

  15. Harper worked to remind us of our history. The Liberals are bent on destroying it. I think it is a UN thing.

  16. Hey, the Saudis are offended by:
    a) the designation “first nations”
    b) the great spirit bear, eagle, raven, etc.
    c) all native dancing
I will be watching the clash between Islam and first nations.

  17. I find this kind of revisionism abhorrent. MacDonald was in fact “enlightened by the standards of his time.”

MacDonald is known to have said the following in the House of Commons in 1872, ”We cannot allow them to die for want of food. [We] are doing all we can, by refusing food until the Indians are on the verge of starvation, to reduce the expense.”

But, when Macdonald made his infamous remark, it was during a debate on government spending and made in response to a question by Liberal MP David Mills (who later served as Justice minister in the Laurier government and then on the Supreme Court of Canada). While protesting the cost of food rations, Mills warned, “… a barbarous population like the Indians may very easily be made wholly dependent upon the government … to the extent … that it will be very difficult to induce the Indians to devote themselves to industrial pursuits.” To which Macdonald also said, “In the case of apprehended famine the matter is to be dealt with on the spot … When the Indians have been starving they have been helped.” In other words, MacDonald made the remarks in defence of his position for helping the Indians

At a time when Canada was overwhelmingly and overtly racist against Indigenous peoples, Macdonald offered to extend the vote to Indians. One Liberal MP said it would be like bringing a scalping party to the poll; another that it was an insult to place white brethren “on a level with pagan and barbarian Indians.” Liberals also feared that Macdonald would get most of the “Indian vote.”

    1. I would go further and suggest that Canada as a country did not mistreat natives – even the Residential schools were intended to help them. The mistreatment was at the hands of some individuals. We still do not know how to address the level of disfunctionality in many native communities, while many children suffer. Perhaps we should address today’s problems before condemning the past, and addressing today’s problems is not going to happen via endless superficial apologies and knocking down statues — even if those things make some people feel good.

    1. I tend to agree, toppling statues is something we’d expect in a revolutionary style takeover. In fact we may well be having a revolution Trudeau style, after all, it is 2018, another term of the Trudeau Liberals and Canada as we knew it will be unrecognizable.

  18. if they could convince people the robe he is wearing is a dress . the trans and cis folk would clamour for it to stay

  19. The Virtue Signalling Mayor of Victoria Lisa Helps has decided that because of comments about Native Canadians, and his role in the creating the Residential Schools system, the statue of Sir John A. MacDonald that sits in front of Victoria City Hall has to go. Mayor Helps said it must be removed “…so that the family members and other Indigenous people do not need to walk past this painful reminder of colonial violence each time they enter the doors of their municipal government,”

Well Mayor Helps, why don’t you go further than just removing a statue, and start the process to change the name of your city, seeing as how it’s named after Queen Victoria. She ruled the British Empire during Sir John A’s time as Prime Minister, and would have had to sign the decree that created the Residential Schools. I would have figured that your 2 Canadian History Degrees (BA, & MA) plus being half way to your Doctorate, you would know this. But, as you have pointed out “I am ashamed to say that I have an undergraduate degree in Canadian history, a master’s in Canadian history and a half-completed PhD in Canadian history. It is not until we began this witness reconciliation program that I learned about the role that Canada’s first prime minister played in developing residential schools, the effects of which are well-known to be still felt today both by school attendees and their children and grandchildren,” If you are only learning of Sir John A. role now it might be time to ask for you money back from whatever strip mall university you received those degrees from. I learned about Sir John A. MacDonald’s mixed legacy in High School Canadian History classes.

I like many Canadians find the Residential Schools a tragedy that is still affecting those that had to endure it to this day. Virtue signalling by removing a statue of Sir John A MacDonald does nothing to help those affected, it only allows you to do the least possible to assuage your personal guilt. A meaningful gesture would be to work to ensure that Canadian History included lessons on the Residential Schools, Japanese Internment, the Komagata Maru, and the other dark parts of our history. That way we can hopefully learn from history instead of burying it.

As for changing the name of you city, how about “Tsuwhage” which is latin for “City that shits in the ocean”

    1. “…start the process to change the name of your city, seeing as how it’s named after Queen Victoria. She ruled the British Empire during Sir John A’s time as Prime Minister,…”

Don’t worry, they will get around to it. They want the more obvious first.

        1. And the name of that island which “city that shits in the ocean” sit upon … and the Spanish name of the strait into which they dump …

  20. Damn right MacDonald has to go,whats some Scotsman doing taking up valuable real-estate in the raw sewage capital of the world?
A more fitting tribute to the whining tribes would be statues depicting their wonderful treatment of their neighbours and passing sailors.
Traditional treats like…..Oh wait those who be hate crimes and atrocity today.
    Never mind.

  21. He who controls the past, controls the present. He who controls the present controls the future.

    1. Exactly, and that is what is happening. Yuri Bezmenov was so right, and Lenin is smiling behind his glass tomb.
