Its not just that there has been folks crossing the border illegally there is also the fabrication that someone coming from a safe country, the USA, is claiming asylum.
There is no legitimate claim to a requirement of asylum if one is coming from the US and if they came from another country, say for example Nigeria, the first point of entry into North America is where they should be claiming said status. If the individual in question enters the US on a visa and then enters Canada not at a border crossing, but through a non designated illegal point of entry, this is not only a breach of the safe 3rd country agreement but a violation of their visa agreement.
There is no amount of bafflegab that obfuscate the truth of this matter.
There is no basis of “cooperation” until the federal government acts to seal off these illegal points of entry.
Till then no discussion or acquiescence to the requests from the Trudeau government to “cooperate” should take place.
