  19. I used to be a monitor for the BBC World Service on shortwave for several years during the 1980s and 1990s. Back then, any interviewer displaying such behaviour would likely have been sacked.

    A few years after it left shortwave, I resumed listening via the Internet and on-air conduct such as hers had become common. Interviewers had become rude, self-serving, and only interested in pushing their views rather than letting the person being interviewed properly present their side.

    That was one reason I finally abandoned the BBC. It was no longer the dignified and classy organization that I had enthusiastically listened to in earlier days.
