Reviewers flooded the Yelp page of a Canadian restaurant with one-star reviews after a manager was fired for kicking out a man wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat.
The Teahouse in Vancouver’s Stanley Park has come under fire for the incident, which occurred less than a week after White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was kicked out of a Virginia restaurant.
As many of us have known for years the Left be they Democrats or Liberals are….. Well I’ve just come up blank, there really are no words left to adequately describe them. From the Black Lives Matter, Occupy, Antifa, LBGTQUERTY, Planned Parenthood (now there’s an oxymoron), MSM, and sundry other groups they have finally pushed beyond their capabilities. A MAGA hat gets you no service in Canada, this in the land of multiculturalism, diversity, and equality of opportunity! It would be well to note that as history has recorded “Don’t start a war you can’t win!” All of these minority groups exist at the benevolence of the majority, and to put it bluntly, the majority is starting to get a little p*ssed-off. Two countries in the Western Hemisphere have developed a society that is the pinnacle of thousands of years of mankind’s progress and these groups are hell-bent on destroying it. Well the silent majority that have sat quietly for the last fifty years are now starting to wake up. The silent majority that saw their great grand parents, grand parent, parents and uncles and aunts sacrifice to develop and nurture this society into this time in history will not sit idly by and watch these minorities destroy it. So a word of warning to the Democrats and Liberals, “Don’t start a war that you can’t win!”

How I wish you were right, Antenor. Unfortunately, history has proven that civilizations last about 250 years before they collapse. It seems that humans have a self-destruct gene in their DNA which leads them to progressively work against their own best interests. North America has every one of the defects that brought down past civilizations.
When a prey is taken down, it too fights for its life. That’s what you are seeing and interpreting as a groundswell of resistance. It’s not. We will self destruct by not taking the preventative actions required for survival as a society.
Exactly. All these groups Antenor mentions, as well as other groups such as Democratic Socialist and even individuals like Soros, are trying their best to tear down western liberal democracy. The Athenian confederation democracy 2,500 years ago was also torn apart by groups such as we see today.
And yes, the prey does fight for its life. In some cases, like Rome, the state does continue in a weakened condition with the hoped for fix (the emperors extremely corruptible in most cases) and the fractures still visible. In other cases, like Imperial Russia, the prey was too disorganized and fragmented and succumbed to a more ruthless enemy. Empires such as the British has been destroyed from within by some of the same sort as destroyed the Athenian confederation and is just sinking beneath the waves so to speak.
The US seems at the moment to be heading for a violent internal disintegration.
The one thing that is different, we are the first ones to come to this precipice aware that it exists.
I am not sure that it is humans working against their own best interests. I am sure that everyone working to tear civilization apart is working for their own benefit. Much more likely that the current generation (baby boomers actually) were so isolated from the struggle to build it that they just took permanence for granted and focused on their own selfish desires with no thought to those who come after.
I suspect that somewhere in the enthusiasm of success and the illusion of permanence, people ignore the wisdom of Thomas Sowell:

Under the new rules:
1. Decent people will have the right to refuse service to globalists and members of their various collaborationist groups (Muslims, feminists, perverts, etc.)
2. Because law enforcement is considered racist, a city’s finest is under no obligation to respond or investigate when globalists have their homes invaded by members of Third World gangs, their trophy wives gangraped, their houses stripped of everything of value and themselves summarily executed with their trophy wives and designer children matter how many times the globalists call 911. Their next of kin will merely be sent a form to fill out for insurance purposes, at the police department’s convenience.
An exception will be made to 2. above if the police have reason to believe the globalist was murdered by his own, to prevent him from giving them information that could have led to the successful arrest and conviction of a globalist for high crimes and misdemeanors.
Wait just a minute. I don’t like these “new rules” either. Are we really entering a time where businesses are heckled, bullied, swarmed, and attacked every time they transgress on the beliefs of any one of the hundreds of political pressure groups, no matter where on the political spectrum they reside? (And no matter how reasonable their actions?)
What business (particularly a small business like a restaurant) can survive in such an environment?

Businesses will survive whose clientele do not generally depend on sucking the blood of their neighbours for their sustenance. Such businesses can tell their few globalist-allied clients to go be lazy, thieving, perverted, violent pieces of trash somewhere other than their premises.
Nope, you have things a little backwards in your analysis. It was the business that was doing the heckling, bullying, swarming, and attacking. They are just being called out for having absolute shit service. All a restaurant has to do is serve people their food without trying to pass judgement on every aspect of the customers life before agreeing to serve the food on the menu. The only rules a restaurant should be enforcing on customers are the same behaviour and dress code rules that apply to everyone.
If you’re referring to the Teahouse, no, the floor mgr. was acting on his own in contravention of Management policy. THAT’s why he was fired.
He may have claimed that he was acting for the restaurant, assuming he actually used the word “we”, but that doesn’t make it so.
As for the people writing bad reviews on the restaurant, I’d wager that the majority couldn’t even find it, let alone have eaten there.
Watch it there. Actually having a clue as to what you’re talking about will get you labelled a ‘globalist’ ’round here.

The manager should have been informed to STFU about politics by the restaurant. As it is, the Teahouse is responsible for the actions of the manager up to the point he was terminated.
Agree that this was an agency problem – typical of leftists like this floor manager to use others property for their Stalinist purposes. You might call it #OccupyVancouver.
Good on the management for firing him – Stanley Park is an internationally recognized tourist destination, and by canning the “ woke “ clown, they performed a huge public service that will reinforce the city’s image as a friendly tourist destination.

The real damage being done is to Yelp. Now I have never believed that Yelp was a good reflection of a business as most of the comments seem to be by people with an axe to grind ….. vindictive and obviously so. And all the more so now that people have added political prejudices.
My rule of thumb is that if a Yelp review is negative, it’s real. Positive reviews can be bought.
As with everything else, 90 percent of restaurants are trash, serving food of poorer quality than one could make at home at a fraction of the cost, in much more sanitary conditions than a restaurant kitchen manned by Third Worlders who never learned to wash their hands after going to the toilet.

I’ve always believed the best business plan for someone who depends on the general public to walk into your establishment and purchase the service or product you are providing is to stay out of politics.
You can vote, talk with your friends but don’t make a statement with your company. You automatically alienate half the population. Thus you can figure your income will halve as well.

If I owned a restaurant, the only rule for the customer I would enforce is a dress code for sanitary reasons, and that’s probably required by the city ordinance. But my staff would be forbidden to join in a political or religious discussion, no matter how much in agreement they find themselves. Sports? Bruins or Trojans? The great majority of sports fans know it’s just fun and games, as long as the discussion is respectful. On the other hand, these days, the weather, motherhood, and the flag can all devolve into political discussions.
When did leftists become segregationists? Where certain restaurants will only serve leftists? Where black leftists demand separate (but equal, of course) clubs, fraternities, college courses, “days”, restaurants, TV talk shows, etc. The left demands that ALL people stick to their … own kind (ie align with the left). Yet call we open-minded, open-hearted, conservatives … ‘racist’ … ‘bigot’ … and much worse.
None of this … NONE … is part of MLK Jr.’s “Dream”.

I find it truly ironic that blacks, who can demand anything they want from universities, choose to have their own dormitories and graduations. They are imposing the “separate but equal” on themselves that MLK fought so hard against.
OTOH, where standards really matter, they want STEM requirements watered down so that they can participate. It’s like if making free throws were the only requirement, and some 5’3″ kid with thick glasses can make the varsity, even though he can do nothing else with a basketball.
And EVERY girl gets selected on the varsity cheerleading team. Fat, awkward, ugly, clumsy … NOW !! … they too can wave Pom poms with the HOT girls. It won’t solve anything.
