If this had happened to a member of the general public, the Edmonton Humane Society would’ve had them charged and their animals seized so fast it would make your head spin.
Instead…

They sat on it for nearly 7 weeks.

A housecat can go 22 days without food or water! Wow! The most resilient creatures on the planet!
Makes me wonder about those stories where the cats started eating the cat lady who cared for them after she died. Turns out the cats don’t really NEED to eat their deceased cat lady … they do it for sport!
Cats are great at recycling 🙂
Maybe not. They found three cats so they say they forgot three cats in the van. But if they could forget three, they could have forgotten a fourth.
Somebody should be in jail. There is no excuse. They have people jailed all the time.
I give up – how the heck can you “forget” three cats in a vehicle?
As a side point, how many redundant vehicles does this humane society have that they can leave one sitting around for over three weeks?
I kinda feel sorry for whoever has to detail that vehicle. Unless it was the person responsible for it.
Cat urine burns on your fingertips … ewww … best to use a LONG pair of playtex gloves
Oh my god that is so sad. I hate the humane society so much.
Cats – they’re the “rhubarb” of the animal world.
That’s a very funny metaphor!
Skunks too apparently.
My neighbor got the “built in skunk” feature in her Town-home.
Three to 4 weeks after she moved in there were scratching sounds coming from behind an access panel on the ground floor. So, stupidly, she removed the cover without much planning. Out pops a skunk.
She had a Shiba Inu, (that’s Japanese for dog with no personality). So the dog goes after the skunk and much spraying ensued.
Animal control got called.
They let the skunk out.
That thing was in there for ever.
Notice they were importing animals “from another agency” into their shelter — because an empty shelter means no donations.
So maybe it is time to reconsider any and ALL contributions to ‘the Society’ until those, including those God-Forsaken supervisors making decisions regarding disclosure of information are FIRED! Only when some people are termination from their employment AND IDENTIFIED on the street will issues like this be minimized.
I cannot believe that something like this can occur. Jeez, even the guys tormenting and then loading the chickens last year in BC were fired. And this took 7 weeks to come to the surface?
Care takers of animals? Really?? Get serious! Fire everyone involved!
The modern veterinary industry is plugged right into this narrative. Dominated by wimmin who just ‘love animals so much’ they’ve lost all perspective. That attitude prevails in the animal rescue systems and the humane societies.
My old vet was a large animal guy. Cattle. He’d treat a horse but if you brought in a cat or dog he’d show you the door.
I’m not saying you should abuse animals. Someone should be held to account for what happened here.
I’m saying the furry 4 legged human thing has lost all objectivity.
My spy camera recently revealed a cat having a snack with a mouse in his mouth. People pay big bucks to purchase food and then let out their cats for dessert! Oh, the Humanity!
Just listening to the local liberal sound machine reporting that the Victoria city council is deciding to curtail the horse-drawn carriage industry in Victoria. The reason, there was an incident involving a horse-drawn carriage a few months ago and now the SPCA is advocating that the carriage trade should have their permits withdrawn. The announcer firmly believes that the advice of the experts should be followed to a “T”. Since when is the SPCA the expert in all things animal? Evidently the cat incident should remove all doubt about the SPCA being anything but expert in anything.
On a brighter note (sarc) if the NDP and the Greenies in BC have their way there will be no gasoline or diesel for sale in BC hence we will be forced to bring back the horse carriage trade, that is if there are any horses left after the SPCA bans them to prevent “animal cruelty”.
The Victoria Carriage industry needs to contact their counterparts in New York City. Those worthies were able to counter the “experts” and their communist mayor and save their jobs (and the horses lives in all probability).
No bringing back horse drawn carriages. The homeless can be drafted to pull the rickshaws.
These animal cults can ALL go to hell, as far as I’m concerned.
My contributions go to childrens sports, music.
Not feral cats, and sjw’s summer jobs.
Cats are just the least destructive breed of parasites to come from the deserts of the Middle East. Everybody knows a cat saved the false prophet Muhammad from a poisonous snake whose bite would have spared mankind untold death and destruction.
In heaven there will be no Muslims, and there will be no cats.
Don’t get me started on domestic cats being put outside to roam free. Millions of song birds are killed each year by domestic cats.
Out here at the trap shack you rarely see a cat. But when I do….. the owner won’t ever see it again.
Just the way it is – Sheepdogs
Way to go Trapper! Send that sheep dog over my way – should feed a few Koreans for a day or more.
You sound like one of those people that are intimidated by something that refuses to follow your orders or are you just one of those that needs his crotch sniffed on a regular basis?
(Are you REALLY a trapper??)
Why do progressives always run to homophobic slurs, SOP or what?
Always on your “minds” it seems.
Along with other things i am trapper.
No I don’t have a sheepdog. I was referring to a song by the Sheepdogs.
I do have hunting dogs tho and yeah dogs sniff crotches – they sniff everything.
There you have it.
I am a big catty friend but you are totally right. I never let a cat friend past a balcony. Birds are amazing and no cat of mine ever killed one. Have 3 feeders as well as a bath.
Good for you. It’s irresponsible to turn out a cat to roam free. They are natural born killers.
My brother-in-law who has a cat for decades puts his cat out every day – on a leash tethered to the clothesline.
Now, that is abusive. Better to leave them inside.
What is it with you people and so called song birds? Its all the fucking circle of life, right? Cats are at least as good as song birds.
Three cats? Thank God it wasn’t 3 rabbits!!
