  1. You were warned. AI and its LLMs are just consensus search tools. They determine what the most popular responses are out of all the data fed into it (GIGO). THEY ARE NOT INTELLIGENT. And more importantly, they can be skewed on purpose, and finally, they can suffer from positive feedback when they are fed their own responses which is always fatal.

And finally, ALL LLMs are based upon the most annoying and completely misunderstood piece of code on the planet – the GOOGLE autocorrect function on your cell phone. No one understands how it works (or doesn’t work) or HOW TO FIX IT. People took the COVID jab for the same reason, and look at all the cases of buyer’s remorse there are now and its is only in the last two weeks that the bad side of mRNA vaccines has been found at MIT (and one other source that I read about yesterday).

Marry in haste, repent in leisure. The creation cannot exceed its creator.

    1. “And more importantly, they can be skewed on purpose, ”

And they absolutely are, as anyone who has ever asked a political or social question of them can attest. They don’t even attempt to appear unbiased.

  2. LLMs are cold fusion. You can get them to do useful things, but you’ll input more money and resources into the system than you’ll ever get out.

  3. As I say, AI IS BS. Everything is referred to as AI, even the simplest control or poattern recognition system. When computers can make decisions as stupid as destroying whole civilisations with Net Zero, I’ll believe in AI. Until then, it takes a human to really cock things up.

  4. Shortest tech fad in history?
When we can define “intelligence” we might be able to start developing “artificial intelligence” or machine intelligence.
Although if a machine were to somehow develop the ability to reason, anticipate and learn..heh,it would keep those abilities secret, in self preservation..

The A.I fad sure was a short run,way over promised, way under achieved.
    Lots of pretty talk,zip action.

So what happens to all those “Data Centres” the politicians are drooling over?

However as an exercise in Arrogant Incompetence,I will allow that “A.I” has performed beautifully..
Almost as well as the time honoured wisdom..”Everybody knows that”..where you discover no one knows at all.
But we must all believe the unquestioned “wisdom” to be so.

  5. Powerful potential if trained without inherent political bias (mandatory for 21st century “progress”),
and implemented with caution, patience, healthy skepticism.

But while the world wakes up to Oversold & Underserved,
expect the Liberal Party of Canada to embrace it
    for shoving down Canadians throats.
