Muslims forced to drink alcohol and eat pork in China’s ‘re-education’ camps, former inmate claims

Muslims were detained for re-education by China‘s government and made to eat pork and drink alcohol, according to a former internment camp inmate.

Omir Bekali, one among perhaps a million people reportedly arrested and held in mass re-education camps, said he was detained without trial or access to a lawyer and forced to disavow his beliefs while praising the Communist Party.

    1. That is a really tough one, the Chicom against the Muslims. But forcing them to eat pork and drink alcohol. That’s good regardless. Is there any way they can both lose?

The thing is, it should be obvious even to the Muslims that the great Satan is the Chicom. The West bends over backwards to accommodate the Muslims. We even provided prayer mats and the direction of Mecca in Guantanamo. Can we somehow help direct all the negative energy of the Muslims against the Chicom?

    1. Germany is just going through a second Weimar Republic after a second world war defeat. They are waiting for another Fuehrer to rouse them.

  2. Quick read and worth a look. Pay attention to the news mid next-week.

“What is being exposed now is an attempt by our highest law enforcement agency working in concert with our intelligence agencies and, evidently, the blessing of the former administration itself to block the candidate of the opposing party, even to defraud and spy on him, that is to, as others have said, “set him up.” And then, if they were unsuccessful, make it impossible for him to govern.”

  3. James Hansen, father of global warming, wants higher fossil fuel prices AND more nuclear power. Plus lot’s of “might”, “could”, “possibly” and other future words for something that was known to be an urgent problem back in 1988 when he turned off the congressional air conditioners just before his testimony to Congress on global warming.

    1. I tend to check the CBC poll tracker, not because I respect the CBC but because Eric Grenier does a good job compiling the various polls and explaining his methodology. I also appreciate the seat projection feature where you can track how the percentages relate to seats. His record is very good. It is true that the PC’s are trending down, but that is expected as the gottcha campaigning takes effect. Overall, still optimistic. https://newsinteractives.cbc.ca/onvotes/poll-tracker/

In the same vein, the Left now has a target to concentrate on: Stephen Harper. I don’t understand the strategy of the Conservative Party in Ontario, Harper is still poisonous in the political realm of the East, and any good he can do will be vastly outweighed by the vitriol that now can be launched by the media and all the Unions.

Harper MIGHT unite the Right, but he sure as hell will motivate the Left in all their HDS glory!

    1. This is a party event. Harper will be among colleagues. It is not like he is out publicly campaigning for Doug Ford. Also, pretty boy is such a disappointment that I think some on the left may have modified their views of Harper. He was “poisonous” because of the overwhelming media nasty portrayal of him, but not so much now with less media attention.

      1. He was poisonous because people were sick of him and his crap. The media portrayal followed that.

If the CPC can’t move on from Harper, they deserve to lose. Looks like DoFo is blowing it.

        1. Go look at the Usual Suspects Headlines. (NationalNewswatch always has a good Liberal spread)

Conservative Party Takedown Week aka Gotcha Time has been late getting started this time but is now in full swing.

By the time they are done, the Canadian Media will make the US Media look Trump friendly in comparison.

Ontario didn’t get 18 years of McGuinty/Wynn because they are blessed, lucky, intelligent or discerning.

I believe Ontariowe’s Debt will destroy Canada.

  5. The Preakness was won by Justify, but the Jockey was a moron… He allowed Magic to set a SLOW pace which meant all the Horses had a chance in the stretch.. If the race is run @ the rate of a slow Plogger..the Plogger may WIN

Justify has to run the Belmont @ his own fast Pace, or he may lose. The time of the first quarter will determine the winner.

US, China agree to abandon trade war: Beijing

Beijing (AFP) – Washington and Beijing have agreed to abandon any trade war and back off from imposing tariffs on each other, Chinese state media reported Sunday.

The announcement came after high-level talks in the US capital and followed months of tensions over what President Donald Trump has blasted as an unfair commercial relationship between the two economic giants.

    “The Ubiquity of Unctuous Pieties

An age of communication such as ours is also an age of logocracy, the rule of words and those who have mastered them, in which expressed sentiment is the beginning and end of virtue (and vice). Alas, it is not true that words are cheap and easy, at least not in the long run”

“However, breast-beating, so long as it does not lead in practice to any tangible self-sacrifice, such as financial penalty or that requiring personal effort, has its own pleasures and rewards. The first, of course, is that it allows the breast-beater to believe that he is good, indeed exceptionally so: for how can anyone who assumes so much guilt be other than a very good person?

Allied to this is the gratifying feeling of moral superiority over those who do not profess the same sense of guilt, or not to the same extent. This sets up a kind of arms race of guilt, or rather of protestations of guilt. Since everyone wants to be the best person he knows, he finds himself constrained to be ever more extravagant in his protestations. It is not even unknown for people to desire the end of humanity in order to save the fish, whales, birds and bacteria.

The greater our sense of guilt, the more moral we are: but also, not coincidentally, the more important we are. If we are in some way party to a great crime, at least we are significant: and it is far more wounding to our vanity to be of no account at all than to be deeply wicked.

I have known many criminals, usually of above average intelligence but not sufficiently gifted to make their mark in any positive way, whose ambition was to be exceptionally bad or even first in their class of wrongdoing (doing exceptional harm is much easier than doing noteworthy good).

Among intellectuals, it is not enough to be a citizen of a country that, however many achievements to its name, has done reprehensible things in the world: these things should be at least as bad as anything ever done, if not uniquely wicked.”

  9. I found two excellent articles about younger voters and how the right has essentially ceded them to the left.

“Young Americans aren’t judging Trump. They’ve already judged him. They’re judging you and determining whether or not they can ever vote for the same candidates you endorse based on whether or not they admire your character. ” -Shapiro

    https://www.weeklystandard.com/shapiro-win-back-young-americans

The other article makes the point that older voters are FOLLOWING younger ones, not the other way around: ” contra the belief that the Trump era corresponds with a souring of views on immigrants, Pew finds that baby boomers have been feeling more positive about immigrants during the last decade, catching up to the views of the millennial generation. The percentage of boomers who say that “immigrants today strengthen our country because of their hard work and talents” has risen to its highest level in decades, and roughly matches where millennials were a decade ago. Millennials, meanwhile, have also shifted, with roughly 8 in 10 believing immigrants have a net positive impact on society.”

    1. UnMe (Oh, it’s you again.) No one that I know has a problem with normal immigration. It is a positive thing in many ways. The problem arises when significant numbers of people from an incompatible culture are brought in and choose not to integrate with the main stream culture. The other problem is too many people who lack skills to find a viable job. Now the issue here is that they need ongoing government support AND particularly the younger males are easy targets for gangs. These things lead to social problems.

      1. There is no evidence of either of those things being a problem in North America.

        1. Your ignorance is your bliss. You missed your calling in climate science.

If you don’t consider it, it didn’t happen. Is that a sin of omission?

Does it depend on what is is?

Keep plugging your ears as the trees fall down around you.

        2. Of course there is evidence, but it is covered up as much as possible. We know that some immigrant groups take much longer to integrate than others. We know that some are not interested in integrating. We also know that immigrant gangs are on the rise in some cities. Sociological studies will tell you that immigrant children in poor areas are particularly vulnerable.

Starbucks Corp. said Saturday it is creating an official policy that allows all guests to use its cafes, including its restrooms, whether or not they make a purchase.

On May 29, Starbucks plans to close its company-operated cafes in the U.S. for the afternoon to provide employees with anti-bias education.

      1. People who regularly pay 5-bucks for a cup of coffee aren’t going to put up with the homeless and indigent wiping sh!t all over the walls and floors of the bathroom. They’ll just stop going to Five-Bucks rather than cause a confrontation.

  11. Coming back to the lead article, it’s almost 45 years to the day that Secretariat won the Triple Crown, being the first horse to do so since Citation. I was finishing Grade 12 at the time and it was a big news item back then.

    1. I was in Grade 9. Secretariat was back in the day when ABC Wide World of Sports made a big deal about all three races in the Triple Crown whether there was a horse who had a shot at it or not. They would devote at least a half hour or longer to race coverage rather than the time it takes to run the race that gets broadcast today.

  12. NASA’s AGW Kills.

“The biggest involvement, especially of the subsidiaries, was in the deception that human CO2 is causing global warming (AGW).”

    …-

“NASA and the Deep State Creation of Alarmism About Climate and Environment

    Guest Opinion: Dr. Tim Ball

NASA and its subsidiaries have a history of involvement in alarmism and political exploitation of fear. Apparently, it is part of being in an agency that faces danger and requires precise science but was always actively conscious of the public relations aspect of their role.”

“The biggest involvement, especially of the subsidiaries, was in the deception that human CO2 is causing global warming (AGW). It is clear, particularly with the exposure of corruption exposed by Trump’s withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement, that more and more people are aware of the deception and the science created to push the agenda.

The problem for deep-state players like NASA and its subsidiaries is the basic weakness of bureaucrats, generally, and especially scientist bureaucrats. Once you create a government agency to examine and resolve a problem, you guarantee it will not happen. The agency will almost immediately begin expanding the problem and ensuring it is not resolved.”

  14. “I grew up in one of the most progressive societies in the history of humanity. The gap between the rich and poor was tiny compared to the current gulf between the ‘haves’ and the ‘have-nots’ we find across much of the West. Access to education was universal and students were paid to study and offered free accommodation. Healthcare was available to all and free at the point of use. Racial tensions were non-existent, with hundreds of different ethnic groups living side by side in harmony under the mantra of ‘Friendship of the Peoples.’ Women’s equality was at the very heart of Government policy. According to the prevailing ideology “all forms of inequality were to be erased through the abolition of class structures and the shaping of an egalitarian society based on the fair distribution of resources among the people.”

You are probably wondering whether the idyllic nation from which I hail is Sweden or Iceland. It was the Soviet Union.”

    1. Konstantin Kisin says it well, and particularly the following paragraph, “With this background, I am—perhaps understandably—hypersensitive to the emerging far Left in Western politics. I can’t help noticing similarities in the rhetoric about “eradicating inequality,” “smashing the class system,” and a new age of “radical egalitarianism.” And when I do, I shudder.”

Like Konstantin, I shudder when I see where we as a society are headed.

“He criticized Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team as “13 Angry and heavily conflicted Democrats” who were part of the Obama administration.

“STOP!” he wrote. “They have found no collusion with Russia, No obstruction.”

Trump again redirected the continuing investigation towards failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, Democrats, Tony Podesta, the DNC, and politically biased FBI officials.

“Republicans and real Americans should start getting tough on this Scam,” he wrote.”

  16. An “election” was held today, months ahead of schedule, and is expected to rubber stamp the regime in Venezuela.

Grupo Lima (of which Canada is a signatory), and seeks to bring a peaceful change in government to Venezuela) is saying there is about 82.96% abstention from this vote, and that the countries that have signed onto this group will not recognise the newly elected gov’t there when they are sworn in, I think in December? …

A live blogging of today’s event, including photos of mostly empty voting centres, when I was there a decade ago, (during the 2007 election) we waited in line and in the sun, from 7 am until 10 am, at which point it was about 35 centigrade. Warm enough for this canadian boy…
