Child molesters change names, government approves

I’m seeing a pattern, and it goes back to Graham James, convicted child molesters getting name changes and new identities.

Why do men like Hudec or Laboucan deserve new identities?

These men have committed horrific crimes against children for their own sexual gratification. Allowing them a name change, even on the grounds of Laboucan’s transgenderism, gives them a shot at a new life, something their victims will not get.

This needs to change.

  1. Somehow, the title of the Ron Goulart SF story, written over 40 years ago, What’s Become of Screwloose?, seems appropriate in this case.

  2. The RCMP/police are already covering this. I have to get fingerprinted every time I go for a police check. This is because there is a “child molester” who has the same birthday. They can change their name – sex – but not their birthday and fingerprints.

I do agree with the idea that they should not be able to change their name.

    1. My understanding (I could be wrong) but you getting a fingerprint check is only done in some provinces. Meaning if a convicted person goes to the correct province they will not be fingerprinted for having the same birthday.

  3. Literally no point in a sex-offender registry if this is allowed. Unless their new names also get added to the registry and the stigma follows them regardless.

  4. Throw farmers in jail for selling wheat, yet let sick and dangerous freaks loose on an unsuspecting public. Tell me again how the left is supposed to be the compassionate ones and not really the evil ones that they are?

  5. I’m pretty sure this goes back further than Graham James. karla homolka changed her name as well.

  6. I send a message and a link to the article to Premier Scott Moe, the SK Justice Minister and the SK caucus demanding that they do something, We will see.

  7. With all the people enamoured with tattoos, I don’t know why we can’t put a bull’s eye on their foreheads. After we physically castrate them with a chainsaw. But then again I don’t know why lawmakers who have children grant them freedom.

    1. All laws and rules seemed like a good idea at the time. But, when your enemies get hold of the levers of power, and use your own good idea against you…

  8. “…but Kevin Daniel Hudec was already a registered sex offender and designated as a long-term offender when officials in Saskatchewan granted his name change to Gabriel Michael Fisher”

Interesting he would change his last name to that of notorious sex murderer Larry Fisher, who raped and murdered a nurse in Saskatoon, for which David Milgard did 21 years in prison.
Multiple murderer David Shearing tried to change his name before he got out,but thankfully Reform MP Randy White caught him at it and though he was allowed to change his name to David Innes, at least the public was informed,as it should be.

  9. Never did believe that Mr. James was a pedophile, rather he just liked his ‘stuff’ a bit more tender. He was one of the Gs in the LGBTQs, so celebrated in the ‘new age’ that we live in.
Besides how long before we can add the P thing to the aforementioned LGBTQ.
That will just leave us with the addition of a second B to celebrate the animal husbandry/wifery option.
    Ain’t life grand!!!

  10. I’ve twice been called a monster for voicing the opinion, but I still maintain that anyone convicted of sex crimes against prepubescent children should face a mandatory death penalty.

Some crimes clearly demonstrate to society at large that you are incapable of existing within the confines of civilization.

    1. Congratulations. You have just created an incentive for any child molester to murder their victims after they’re finished, because we don’t have the death penalty for murder.

Nothing causes people’s brains to fall out the back of their heads like crimes against children.

      1. I’m not sure where you are, but we certainly have the death penalty for murder where I live.

The death penalty for murder should go without saying. I pity anyone unfortunate enough to live in a place where that isn’t even an option.

        1. There’s a Joyce Milgaard on Line 2 for you.

Oh, wait, now there’s a Mr. Kaufman on Line 3. Something about DNA. Man, the phones are just lighting up this afternoon.

  11. This a very straight forward statement. If one of my kids had been molested or one of my grand children is ever molested. The sob would be doa.

    1. I agree 100% with Alyric and Old White Guy, any maggot convicted of sexually molesting a child should forfeit his right to live in our society.

  12. Many years ago, the CBC radio program Ideas discussed this issue during one of its broadcasts.

One comment that was made on that show was that there are a lot of holes in the system. Many of those convicted of this crime have figured out how to bluff their way to freedom. All it takes, apparently, to convince the review board is to have the right attitude and disposition. There doesn’t seem to be any way of testing whether what they say about themselves being changed is actually true.

I shudder to think that someone like those mentioned in the article could be back on the streets again as it certainly appears that prison did little to reform them.

  14. I am sure government is more than willing to ride to your rescue, and “get it stopped”. It will probably work out just as well as residential schools, as it will be the same type of people coming up with and implementing the “solution”.

  15. I’m not convinced of mligards innocence. Years ago I met a guy who worked in the joint where milgard was doin his time (Stoney Mtn). He said milgard fessed up to a guard.
All the DNA did was prove it was fishers seman and not milgards. Milgard was with fisher throughout that day. He did it, and if he didn’t cap her he sure as hell had a part in it.

    1. And this is why we don’t have the death penalty. Not because we’re soft, but because the government isn’t perfect. You don’t have to be convinced of his innocence. A jury has to be convinced of his guilt.

  16. Sex offender registries are asinine and pointless. The many bizarre restrictions placed on sex offenders-who do not have especially high rates of recidivism-are why they have to change their names, so they can live somewhere other than beneath an overpass and get a job.
